RSS
On the 10th anniversary of its much-hyped launch, DW takes a look back at the rise and fall of Sega's Dreamcast. James D.
Absolutely brilliant, Dubs.
KnightWing
I still have my original console; I really miss the days when the Dreamcast was "the thing."
Missy
Great article, DW! The Dreamcast was a system I always wanted to own, if only for Soulcalibur, but I was still very much a Nintendo fanboy and refused to buy another company's system. Especially one made by Sega. Every once in a while I contemplate snagging one from eBay, but I'm stopped by limited funds. Maybe I'll steal my brother's, as I'm sure it's collecting dust in a closet somewhere. Maybe I'll steal my brother's, as I'm sure it's collecting dust in a closet somewhere. There was a point in time when they were being sold at Gamestop used for $12. If you can find a local electronics resale store, they should have one for relatively cheap.
Missy
You falsely assume I have $12.
Aaron Robinson
Man, this was a great read. Can't wait for part 2.
KnightWing
You falsely assume I have $12. Ah, yes. At this very moment, I am sitting in the student center at UTA, smelling the food from the cafeteria down the hall, with absolutely no money to buy sustenance of any kind. I feel your pain. JackFetch
I just recently found my system and brought it to work for the kids to play. It's kind of surreal to watch 10 year olds beat Dynamite Cop in 2009. What I've found is adults say "cool a Dreamcast", small kids say "cool, videogames", and teenagers just laugh at the "old system'.

drqshadow
Great work Dubs, a fine subject with plenty of meat to dig your teeth into. Every once in a while I still fire up my Dreamcast, just for old times' sake. My VMUs still chime in with the same irritating, shrill "CHREEEEEEEEP" they did ten years ago. Meeeemorieeees.... I used to have two of them. If not for the fact that my ex kept it, I would have gladly given it to you. This article also marks the first time I've ever gotten reader feedback via Facebook. A guy named Bill messaged me to say how much he enjoyed it. That made my day.
Missy
I posted links to the article on my Facebook page, as well as the Earth-2.net FB page. On there "Just Bill," as he goes by, asked, "Who is 'DW' that wrote it?" So I linked him to your Facebook page. Glad to hear he gave you feedback!
