dc20willsave Posted October 13, 2010 Report Share Posted October 13, 2010 While I'll agree that Gambit is a less than compelling character, I have to disagree about Storm. Many writers don't know how to use her, I'll agree with that. Sometimes it feels like Claremont is one of the few writers who do. In particular, his run on X-Treme X-Men comes to mind. Storm has on her leader hat for much of the series and kicks ass. For that matter the two Life/Death issues featuring Storm from the 80s are some of Claremont's best writing. So, I guess I'm kinda saying that Claremont writes an awesome Storm and outside of a few episodes of the 90s animated series, everyone else kinda wastes her. I think the main problem is that her power set has the potential to be uber-overpowered and most writers underplay her or hoisther up as this unreachable goddess.
