Holacik
Superman/Batman #75 features the masterpiece in Azzarello and Bermejo's collaborations. Joker and Lex I love the idea of that, but it just didn't really work for me.
KnightWing
I think it's amazing.
Molly
You-Know-Who looks too much like Charlie Brown, not enough Calvin.
prez
I also thought it was great.
Koete
Starting in January 2011, Diamond will deliver comics on Tuesday to be held for sale on Wednesday.
Missy
Because sales will still happen on Wednesdays, this really isn't a big deal for fans. For retailers, however, it is.
dc20willsave
The other change that might arise from this is that comics might start popping up on more... unscrupulous places sooner than they would otherwise.
KnightWing
I hope more comics start being delivered the day before. I get frustrated when I get to the store and the clerk tells me "sorry; the new books won't be here for another hour."
Koete
That's pretty much what the news implies, as comic shops will get the books a day earlier, giving them more than Wednesday morning to get the books on the shelves.
Stavros
Even worse, I always used to get there after they'd arrived but before they were all on the shelves. Problem with my LCS was that some stuff was always gone if you left it too late in the day, like Walking Dead.
Missy
Does your shop not offer pull lists? If they do, get one. That way you'll never miss a book you want, and it helps support the books you love.
KnightWing
The problem with pull lists is that it only works if you always want the same books every month. I tend to not always get every issue in every series I read, so that doesn't work for me.
Missy
What you can do then is use the Preview catalog to locate the order numbers for books you do want. Hand that list off to the retailer, and they'll order those books. So it's still a pull list, but it rotates. Or use DCBS.
ShaunKL
Does anybody think Batman: R.I.P. will be re-released with the two "lost chapters" from Batman #701 - 702?
JackFetch
I just heard there are going to be two Batmans now. WTF? I'm glad I stopped reading comics a year ago. I'm sure this is old news to everyone here, but I just heard from a non comic based podcast.
KnightWing
It's not as big a deal as it sounds.
Koete
In response to a question about professional disappointments, Pope revealed he was on board for a “third year of ‘All-Star Superman’” that would have seen him “share art duties with J. H. Williams III and Richard Corben.”
ShaunKL
Is that a good or bad NOOOOO?
Koete
Most definitely a "why isn't this in my longbox!?" no.
SuaveStar
I just read someone summing up the final issue of One Moment In Time. Yeah....that sounded like shit.
Koete
Yeah, from what I've read about it, the characters are basically mouthpieces for Joe Quesada. Can't say I'm surprised. I'm glad I'm not invested in Spider-Man anymore. Two years ago I would be cursing up a storm; now all I can do is chuckle.
KnightWing
Sucks, too, 'cause Amazing Spider-Man has been... well, amazing, ever since One More Day.
SuaveStar
Interesting article on the decline of comic sales. I've been seriously thinking about just getting out of comics for a while after November, and the end of Morrison's Batman run (I don't really care about Inc.)and dropping Red Robin while I'm at it. It's got to the point where I look at the price, and how much enjoyment I'm getting for the money and saying "Is it worth it?" and right now, the answer has to be no, I don't like the prices, I don't like fill in writers and artists, with little or no notice (Streets of Gotham and Sirens have been plagued by fill ins, no matter how good the stories are, they aren't what I paid to read, nor are there stories, and Batman #703 was the latest comic from Batman to have a new writer and artist, with no notice, at least from DC themselves.) Looks like I'm going to be joining the long list of trade waiters.
Koete
Top Shelf is having their huge annual sale. The biggest steal is probably the $75 Surrogates Owner's Manual HC for $10 (which I just bought).
