  1. EDIT: Damn this picture! Never wants to show up.
  2. Rumor has it that Warner Bros. is looking at Vin Diesel for Lex Luthor because they want to make the film "cool". *sigh* Get Edward fucking Norton, people!
  3. Last time I wanted to pin writers down to a set schedule, and I think that might have scared folks off. So this time I'm just looking for columnists and reviewers who can express their ideas clearly and have a fondness for comic books, video games, anime/manga, and/or sci-fi/horror. (If you would like to cover a subject that differs from that list, simply contact me and we'll discuss it.) There will be no need to update regularly, but all the better if you can. If interested, send me a PM or e-mail: mike@earth-2.net
  4. GI Joe: The Movie is not in production so don't get your hopes up. But, if it were, who would be in your dream cast? GI JOE Flint: James Marsden Snake Eyes: Ray Park Duke: Bruce Willis Hawk: Charlton Heston Lady Jaye: Carla Gugino Roadblock: Michael Clarke Duncan Beach Head: Michael Madsen Scarlett: Laura Prepon COBRA Cobra Commander: Steve Buscemi (voice only) Destro: James Earl Jones [or] Liam Neeson (voice only) Baroness: Fairuza Balk Storm Shadow: Jet Li Zartan: Hugh Jackman Tomax/Zamot: Edward Norton Major Bludd: Elliott Gould By no means do you have to use the same characters I did. For sake of keeping it simple, I cut out guys like Wild Bill, Quick Kick, Shipwreck, Bazooka, Gung-Ho, Dr. Mindbender, all of the Dreadnoks, and Serpentor. But feel free to add in whomever you like.
  5. (source) I don't see why this is news, when it's already going on. Granted, it's nowhere near as bad as movies, but advertisements have been popping up in games for years. Frankly, the better idea is for music studios to place songs by their up-and-coming artists in games. Look at the Madden franchise, or THUG. Not only do they feature songs by big names, but also artists who usually break into the big time within one year.
  6. New Skin: Moonbeam has been added.
  7. But you have to remember that it will be new to the bulk of the movie-going public.
  8. Forgot to mention that Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Mean Girls) is reading for an unspecified role in the film. Though she's blond, I don't see her playing Sue. Alicia Masters is a better fit in my opinion.
  9. Looks like The Punisher is coming back to the theaters at the same time as Spider-Man 2. Though no official reason has been released, many are speculating that LGF hope to catch the people who miss SM2 due to sold out theaters.
  10. Word has it that we'll see an official announcement concerning the cast in two weeks, and it sounds like Michael Chiklis is still in the lead for Ben Grimm/The Thing.
  11. Ultimately, he never went for the screen test.
  12. It could still happen. Maybe Bungie is trying to kill the rumor to keep the suspense up.
  13. Sloyd <--- link I can beat it in 95 moves.
  14. It's probably the producers of Smallville that want to stay away from the movie, because once we see Tom in the Superman costume, everything that makes SV special is gone. But casting a young Superman will inevitably draw comparisons to the TV show.
  15. Interesting, but don't count on it. Many high profile games get canceled before they ever see the light of day. Remember, GTA III was supposed to have a GBA port as well, but that never happened.
  16. I think Man-Thing is going to be a made-for-TV movie. DD was okay at best so Elektra won't fare much better. Fantastic Four is a sci-fi/adventure comic, always has been; if they make it a superhero film, they're fucked. I've said my piece about Iron Man and Captain America. Namor... who the fuck cares? Ghost Rider, if done all dark and goth (RE: The Crow), could be cool. Remember what I said about Namor? Same goes for Silver Surfer and Deathlok. Nick Fury could be interesting if they made him the grizzled, American James Bond. Every year for the past seven years or so I mean to buy a copy of the bootlegged FF film, but I never get it.
  17. Iron Man could make for a good adaptation, but they'll have to revamp his entire origin. The idea that he wears the suit to save his heart/life won't fly on the big screen, not with the way modern medicine can cure most heart ailments. Having said that, it's going to be hard to explain why a billionaire would willingly dress it armor to fight crime. Captain America, on the other hand, can go two routes: 01. Set entirely during WWII, which would be really killer. 02. Set partially in WWII (RE: Hellboy), but focusing more on the here and now, utilizing the whole "man out of time" aspect of the character. But no one will buy the "frozen in ice for 60 years" bit, so they'll have to come up with a better way to explain his resurrection. Just so long as he isn't a clone of the WWII Cap.
  18. If they're going to do a young Clark/Superman, why not cast Smallville's Tom Welling?
  19. It has been rumored that screen-testing for Superman 5 began this week, with the following men: Henry Cavill born: 1983 (Stephen Colley in I Capture the Castle) Jason Behr born: 1973 (Max Evans in Roswell) Jared Padalecki born: 1982 (Trey Lipton in New York Minute) Brendon (Brandon?) Routh born: 1979 (Wade in Undressed) Mike Vogel born: 1979 (Andy in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre [2003]) Hayden Christensen born: 1981 (Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in Star Wars prequels) 01. Hayden Christensen decided not to test. 02. I despise this young, hip look they seem to be going for. Superman is in his 30s, and people will flock to the theaters to see this film regardless of how young and cool Superman is. And, if they're going for a young look, they might as well cast Tom Welling from Smallville. 03. Jason Behr isn't a bad candidate. 04. Here are my picks: Patrick Warburton born: 1964 (David Puddy in Seinfeld) Ron Livingston born: 1968 (Peter Gibbons in Office Space) Stuart Townsend born: 1972 (Dorian Gray in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) Josh Duhamel born: 1972 (Tad Hamilton in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton)
  20. SPOILER (source: NY Daily News)
  21. I wish that Spidey wasn't blocking three of the names (I can guess that one of them is Daredevil 2), and I'm saddened that we won't get X-Men 3 until 2006.
  22. I didn't mind him in the cartoon looking Wind Waker, but I'll be pissed if he makes an appearance in the upcoming Zelda game -- because it has shed its bright and colorful image for a more realistic look. So I reserve judgment... for now.
