  1. So apparently Kevin Eastman produced a movie that looks at the world 30 years after the martian Invasion. And yes, that is Theodore Roosevelt on the thumbnail.
  2. Sorry, I am late. Hope you had a happy birthday!
  3. I know people who do not play Pokemon for that same reason, however they do not get upset at people who do play it. My thoughts, I have found Pokemon fans get worked up and cry over cruelty done to a character either in the game or the show. So I do not see Pokemon as training the next generation of animal fighting rings.
  4. I liked the bit with Benedict Cumberbatch in that wig and coat.
  5. This show was a guilty pleasure, mostly because Holmes looked a lot like my favorite Math teacher.
  6. I am loving how the theme for Gravity falls was corrupted once Bill took over.

    Randomness

Little bit too out of my reach, sorry.
  8. I like Cocteau's Belle y la Bete (Beauty and the Beast). I am not cultured enough that I can ever get past the eyeball scene from that movie.
  9. The fact that The Amazing World of Gumball made such a blatant Zardoz reference has only strengthened my theory that James and Damien are behind this show.
  10. The reason why I asked was because there is another character, besides Red, whose transformation into a large animal looks more convincing than Jacob turning into a giant wolf who seems to do it as effortlessly as gymnast doing a somersault. One of my favorite transformation sequences was on the BBC show Being Human because the show made transformations out to be a very painful sequence, with screaming, writhing and snapping of bones.
  11. Happy Anniversary guys. That was a very clever theme. I listen to Hypnobobs at least once a week for my commute so I was happy to hear Mr. Jim Moon on the show. I especially liked Hannah and Will talking about Evangelion. I have a love hate relationship with Eva, I will not defend it but at the same time I am glad it is out there. The first episode I saw End of Evangelion and after seeing it I was very confused and a little depressed. You guys have given that movie the explanation that made the most sense. Also I liked the dance episode.
  12. Did a show have a better opening in its country of origin or when a studio from another country translated and aired it? here are a few that come to mind? Danger man vs. Secret Agent Man. or. how about its opening in the USA as Secret Agent Man How about X-men was the USA opening better or either of the Japanese openings How about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, is the American opening better Or the Italian version. Do you have one that you can think of?
  13. On the subject of babies, my cousin recently had her first child. They thought it was a girl and were going to name it Isabella but when it turned out to be a boy they changed the name to Jacob.
  14. After listening to it the third time. I Wondered if you guys intentionally left out "pretty cool, huh?" During Jacobs transformation. But James did call them cgi abominations, as opposed to wolves. When Once Upon a time was mentioned, I was curious as to how many seasons James has gotten into.
  15. Damien mentioned that the portrayal of women in video games and wrestling will always be a problem. I realized that no matter how different or experimental a game is, someone will most likely complain about the way women are shown.
  16. Enjoyed the episode, although I must admit I only brought up smile time because I wanted to hear Hannah talk about puppet Angel.
  17. Goosebumps: on the same quality as the books. People who have grown up will find it stupid but those who have not grown up and can still be children will find it as good turn off your brain fun.
  18. I noticed that there were a couple of movies that have some good openings and appear to be getting scary. Then the supernatural element comes in and the suspense that once was there is dissolved. Here are the ones that I have seen. Jeepers Creepers - Witnessing evidence of murder on a country road (before cell phones) and having to elude the killer would have been a wonderfully suspenseful movie. However all suspense flies out when it turns out to be just a hungry monster and every time its wings come out I find myself chanting Na na na na na na na. Devil - The concept of being locked in a place as crowded as an elevator can scare most people let alone someone dangerous. But adding a supernatural being took away the suspense that it could have had. As I am writing this I realize that supernatural stories have rules that need to be followed whereas humans are more unpredictable. That is why suspense does not mix with the supernatural. Have you felt the same way about any other movies?
  19. I appreciate what Damien said about The Village. I love that movie even though it has its flaws (I bet fans of The Prisoner had to bite their fists the whole way through). The way I understood the costume thing, was that the founders put on the disguises to keep the younger generation frightened and therefore less likely to leave and find out that all they knew was fake.
  20. that is definitely the case in a Kurt Wimmer movie . although a Tirades worthy movie of his I would recommend would be Equilibrium. A shameless knockoff of Brave New World, Farenheit 451 and choreography that in noooooo way resembles the Matrix. I also saw the middle finger to conservatives in the transformers movies. When Will explained that one of the writers is a 9-11 conspiracy theorist, it all started to make sense.
  21. I am trying to think of a movie, that came out before 1980, that has made me angry. The closest thing I could think of was in High School when I saw the 1966 film version of Fahrenheit 451. Mostly because while the book inspired us (the students) to question the news, read and think about what you read. The only thing that people got from the movie is that one scene where Julie Christie felt herself up. .... however.... I am looking at the movie now and I realize that most of my rage is very unfair. Adapting a film from a novel does not mean that it must be followed to the letter. I also did not count on the fact that when I read 451 my imagination was influenced by movies like Spielberg's Minority Report or Verhoven's Total Recall. This movie came out the same year as Star Trek TOS .
  22. So I was at work, catapulting slingshot monkeys when, around 8:00 the recoil mechanism broke and I traced it to a broken spring. It was a piece that we did not have on hand because a broken spring is something that normal people don't have to tackle. I was annoyed at myself but then realized it could have been worse. Coily could have materialized out of nowhere and shouted "Nooooo Springs!!!!!" and then laughs as he de materializes.
