  2. My favorite glass in grade school were those McDonald's commemorative glasses. If I had to pick one it would be Hamburglar all the way.

    Episode 42

But can you imagine it Andy? Triple Combo Cast! Brother DEStroy the Brain!!! Muhahahahaha! Brother DEStroy the Brain!!!? That is one of the most incredibly-awesome things I've EVER HEARD! As for my choice of Dawn of the Dead as my least favorite remake - I hope I made it pretty clear that my dislike of that movie has more to do with what the film did to the zombie subgenre more than anything else. When I covered Zompire, The Undead Film Festival in Episode 16 of Mail Order Zombie I talked about my thoughts on the actual film a bit, adn the truth is, as a roller-coaster-style movie, it's not bad, especially if you watch it with a group of people, but I still maintain that it's fairly soulless and really doesn't leave you with much more than a slight sugar crash afterward whereas the original sticks with you . . . I had a blast doing this show with Des. I, too, was a little worried since this was the first time we ever spoke in person, and I didn't have a lot of experience with Skype (ask Andy at Destroy the Brain! about that), but in the end, I think it went really well . . . We've been talking about my dropping by Dread Media again, and I'm looking forward to that! Ok, this is bugging me. I'm currently listening to the episode. What the hell is trailer audio (I assume) between the 5 worst remakes and the Goblin song!??!? Ha! It's a quick clip from the beginning of the Dawn of the Dead remake trailer.

Agreed, I REALLY enjoyed this episode considerably. Although I'd swap the Brother D gripe of Mike's and exchange it for not hearing enough venom about The Wicker Man. Des, you did about 6 months worth of Countdown reading and podcasting - but only 20 minutes for the Wicker Man?!?!? I wanted to hear bile about bear suits and bees and just how damn goofy the whole thing is! Dagnabit. Sorry man, couldn't bear Cage's incessant whining. But if the youtube clip that D sent me after recording is any indication, I wish I'd stayed for the greatest comedy of all time... Thanks, Ian. It was a little iffy seeing as we've never talked to each other before besides throwing email back and forth. Rest assured, he will be on the show (maybe a two-parter) again this summer.
  7. Miss you dude. Whenever you're good, come on back. I'm rubbing your chair with a cooked ham...super warm. I look forward to hearing from you. Edit: originally wrote rubbing your hand with cooked ham and didn't realize it...that's just creepy.

But can you imagine it Andy? Triple Combo Cast! Brother DEStroy the Brain!!! Muhahahahaha! Amazing. I can't believe I didn't think of that. Read the Halloween Nightdance comics...comic combo cast. I'll hold you to that.

Thanks! I know I'd love to have a co-host weekly but time and real life is overpowering. I really enjoyed doing this one. If I had people I knew with a passion for horror like D and Andy who DIDN'T have a podcast they'd be on the show.
  10. To be honest, I've heard nothing but bad things.

Going in, I knew what both of his number ones were. He has taken a slight shine to DotD '04 over what he used to feel about it but he's still vehemently against runnning zombies.
  13. My school is the only one in the district running summer school this year and I just found out that there are high school English teachers with more seniority who want to teach in the summer so I may not get a job. Believe me, I wouldn't teach in the summer unless we needed the money. But I just know that I'll be asked to prep the ss teacher in my curriculum if I don't get the job. I will say no. I don't even have answer keys for my EN 12 so the poor bastard who takes my job is screwed.
  14. Legends of the Dark Knight Annual #4 featured a story called Citizen Wayne in which only Thomas Wayne was killed. Bruce and his childhood friend Harvey Dent took things very differently shall we say...

Ha! Well, I liked it. Brother D is very purist when it comes to his zombies...
  16. Whoa...that sucks man. If she means that much to you, then you should tell her. But you should be prepared for the fallout (ie: losing both of them as friends) even though he doesn't sound like much of a friend.
  17. That Kimmel spoof was pretty funny.
  18. Count yourself lucky...I was going to call you "sailor"
  19. Thanks. It isn't absolutely integral but it does round out a rogues gallery and create tension and motivation for the supporting cast. Plus it'll be damn good when it's done.
  20. If you are reading a horror/dark sci fi thriller, is the third chapter too early for a descriptive sex scene?
  21. Anyone watching this? I've seen the first two episodes now and it is acceptable. Eric Roberts had a great performance on last night's "Spooked" if the story was quite cliched. It is god to see what Masters of Horror could have been with a network budget. Brad Anderson (The Machinist) directed the hell out of a poor script and ernded up with something about as scary as network television gets. Great sound design. So far, it's getting better.
  22. Also, I have found that most of the vulgar trash talkers on X-Box Live are from America. Don't put that distinction in there. It's jingoistic and unreasonable to say that all of the nice people are from America and all of the meanies, well who knows where! Maybe they're Ay-rabs!
  23. Just looking at your opening paragraph, I can see what you're trying to do but it is a little clunky: The first sentence is unnecessary and the rest should be leaner: Back in the eighties, three things were huge: Adam Ant, Culture Club and the Nintendo Entertainment System. Fast forward to the year 2008 and what do you have? Adam Ant is a recluse who has been out of the public eye for years, Culture Club have broken up and Boy George is now selling clothes in a London market to pay the rent. Games, on the other hand, have changed; instead of being a pass time of adolescent boys, Nintendo have not only survived the dark days of the gaming industry, but are a multi-billion dollar company with one of the fastest selling consoles in history. But why now? Why did gaming not go out of fashion like Culture Club? One word: Wii. Much more compact with fewer fragmented elements. Clearest is best.
