  1. Thank you, there will be more. Sometime soon. Thanks Dan. I was happier with this than all of my other King and I's. Funnily enough, Mike not only did a GREAT banner, he re-titled the work. Funnily enough it was the only title I was unhappy with and when Mike sent the title on the banner my way, my mind was blown. Kudos, sir! Thanks guys, nice to leave for work with a caffeine withdrawal headache, and get to work with two bits of praise.

    Episode 37

    Cheers, Keith!
  4. Yeah...I heard he shot demons once too. Doesn't mean I have to like it.
  5. Death speaks to him? Right...schizophrenic he is not. Maybe Ennis has less of a grasp on Castle than I thought.
  6. really? All the actions of the character would say otherwise. Psychopathy is a medical psychological condition marked by very precise factors. Dr. Robert Hare, who essentially defined the term psychologically says they are: intraspecies predators who use charm, manipulation, intimidation, sex and violence to control others and to satisfy their own selfish needs. Lacking in conscience and in feelings for others, they take what they want and do as they please, violating social norms and expectations without guilt or remorse" "What is missing, in other words, are the very qualities that allow a human being to live in social harmony." (Hare, Robert D. Without Conscience: The Disturbing World of Psychopaths Among Us) Great book if you can get past the jargon. Essentially, there is a clear break in emotional and volitional health which is clearly not the Punisher. There is no problem with him emotionally on a human level. Sure he's disturbed but psychopathy is hereditary and clearly wouldn't make you seem odd eating Fruit Loops with Charlie Manson on your front porch. I would say Castle suffers from Post Traumatic Personality Disorganisation. Which is a bit like Borderline Personailty Disorder mixed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. But clearly he comes down on the side of sociopathy and not psychopathy. Psychopaths are essentially sufferers of Antisocial Personality Disorder which is marked by the inability to live in society. Castle blends right in making him a sociopathic BPD sufferer in my eyes. I almost became a psychologist. That is, until I started making good choices.
  7. Yeah but to me it exists outside of that universe. I don't like it as an incontinuity Punisher book with that whole subconscious talking to him shit. It makes him look like a psychopath and he isn't. It's a good story but it's not the Marvel MAX Punisher Ennis is writing.
  8. Alright, some of the good ones...to be fair I never thought of First to Last because I never knew it existed and Born, I don't consider Punisher MAX. I was talking the regular series. It's pretty hardcore too. First storyline, yes. Mother Russia? Snoozefest to me. I HATE Ennis' Fury.
  9. Buy The Slavers. That's the only Punisher MAX book you'll ever need to read (other than The End)
  10. Yup, that's the one. Yeah...no pull quote from me on the cover of that trade paperback! All well done folks! I now have to pick up Captain Britain (all right, I was going to anyway but I'm glad someone doesn't think it sucks). Dan should now prepare for the deluge of Claremont/Chaykin works coming his way. Muhahahahahaha!!! Maybe you can get more of the X-Books instead of me having to read those wastes of time...
  11. That's why I liked Sgt Rock better than GI Joe. People die when they stand on the opposite end of a field and constantly shoot guns at each other. Every time a plane explodes there is a miniscule chance someone will actually be able to eject safely. And the likelihood of jumping off of an exploding jeep is low.
  12. Look Pa! I found a Fraggle....Movie! God I love Fraggle Rock! Meg and I are halfway through season two with the kids right now and this is the best kids movie news I may have ever heard. Let's hope the Weinsteins don't sit on it like they do everything else. Ahmet Zappa? The show was crazy enough. It was existential, darkly comic with undertones of classism. Very interesting as an adult. Fucking great as a kid!
  13. I just don't understand the hate. It must have somethign to do with DC's involvement but if you look at it, comics have been like this for the better part of a decade. Hell, it was groundbreaking when Watchmen did it but all of a sudden there's complaint about it. Maybe it's a backlash but I just see it as the byproduct of an era of heightened political consciousness among the comic reading and creating population. I, for one, enjoy it. Don't bitch about politics in DC when no one bitches about Captain America: Chosen and Ultimates dropping into real world political warzones. Green Arrow is saying "vote for this guy" he's not shooting arrows at Afghani soldiers. If you're going to complain, complain about Marvel's real world policy and Batman fighting al Qaeda. Not this.

    Your "to do" list

  15. Read the FCBD version of Dan Dare and I have to say: If I could do it over again, I wouldn't have wasted the energy picking up the free book. Yuck. It's just...so mediocre it's annoying. And Gary Erskine is maybe in my top ten currently working comic artists. His stuff was flat and the story...the story... Sorry Mal but I gave it a shot and I can understand that some people could think it's good but great? I don't get it.
  16. Doesn't the doctor have to come back younger each time? When does this become "Tales of Lil Who"
  17. He's been the mayor for god's sake! He's supposed to back candidates! I really don't see the hate either. there's hundreds of non-political comics out there. Read those. You can pretty much guess what most of the heroes would vote like anyway. I, for one, am interested. Like I said, as far as the writing team they could add Dan Slott for all I care for the writers but the art is a buy alone.
  18. Marvel's been doing it for years...
  19. I get Winnick and Rucka mixed up. I like Winnick even less
  20. Guy's got a goofy smile. Other than that it looks pretty great to me. Somebody has to!
  21. Even if it has Willingham and Rucka writing it I'll still pick it up to get interiors by Stephane Roux.

Don't forget to job out Cody Harlan. Wait for the summer. It will be a beautiful, beautiful thing to behold. You know, I love you guys. I really do. But sometimes it's like you're speaking another language... People pretend they're wrestlers, dreams get weaved, I had a fat sidekick, there's absurd amounts of work involved and an entire forum of people hate my guts. That's about the gist of it, really. Y'see! That's all I needed.
  25. Nothing groundbreaking but its due to Evanier's biography of the man. http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/books/05/0...irby/index.html Good to see he's getting some mainstream recognition.
