Static Age is maybe one of the best punk albums ever recorded. Bullet and Theme for a Jackal on one album? Madness!
  2. That's freaking great, man! Looks nice.
  3. Contact for both. I watched it on a long plane flight and sat jaw agape during the whole thing. I was so thirsty at the end my mouth hurt and my lips felt like they were cracking. I realized it's because I never took a drink. He was doing something with that film that people still aren't getting today. When they do, it will be legendary.
  4. A hearty thanks to you, Mike. I wouldn't put so much time and energy into a website unless I not only believed in it, I love it. It is the best, bar none, geek culture site on the wub with the kindest and most entertaining forum around. I am honored to be around so early in this site's surely long existence. On top of that, I'm honored to be involved and tied creatively to a site I hold in such high regard. I will always say that I was a fan before I even emailed in that first time and I continue to be a fan. Only now, I'm a little biased...just a little. Congrats Mike. Talk to you later.

    Kick-Ass

That Watchmen/The Twelve comment made me snort so hard my face hurts. No. Where. Near. It. I see what Mal is saying though. I too think that the bulk of Millar's good major publisher work was at DC. Swamp Thing was great and Aztek blew socks off me. Red Son is the best Superman ever written, I'm still not sold on the best Superman story ever written. CW was not as good as most say it is. Ultimates, however, is the shite. If Loeb had any sense, he'd try and copy what Millar was doing because that was brilliance. Authority is still his best work over all. And the Unfunnies...
  6. So. Excited. I thought that was Don Freaking Cheadle when I looked at the picture first!

Agreed, With Teeth being far better than Year Zero IMO. I've only wanted to listen to Year Zero once. With Teeth has an 80s synth pop vibe that is fun. Fragile was his Magnum Opus.

Right now: NIN Ghosts I. It's a free 9 track download of new instrumental NIN music but it's only the first of four volumes. You can go here and download the first nine for free and even buy all 36 for 5$! I'm not even the biggest fan of the first volume but I'm buying anyway because this is the future of the music industry. If the link is cranky, they're having a lot of bandwidth issues so you can get the first volume off bittorrent. That is where I was redirected from the site anyway when I dl'd it. Check it out and if you have even a passing interest in the tunes, SUPPORT THIS! Or you have no right to bitch about the music industry anymore.
  9. That's the best superhero design for a film ever. I don't care what anybody says. Even Niteowl!
  10. I'm very interested in FEar Itself. For those who don't know: Mick Garris had talks with Showtime about another season of Masters of Horror and due to monetary issues, left. NBC offered to pick up the idea (superstar directors on oneshot one hour horror films) for a latenight showing and a following unrated release. Due to the writer's strike Mick Garris (executive producer, main idea man, and writer) refused to cross the picket line so they told him not to come back. Yikes!
  11. I'll eat my words if I'm wrong but NoES was very nearly perfect. A remake with Englund would be a bad idea let alone one without. Craven's only great film. Keep remaking shit like Prom Night and April Fool's Day because those sucked. Remake Friday the 13th even because Jason fucks people up regardless of what continuity it is in. But I cringe at the thought of the comedy they'll infuse into this film.
  12. Des is better than half of the people on the internet by the way. You just got sigged! Watch yourself Deaux! Part of my winnings as contributor of the year are the powers to have one person tied to a chair for an entire year watching Death of the Batman...
  13. Great job all around guys. Some thoughts: -Risso was alright in 100 Bullets but the writing nor the art was enough to get me to read past the third arc, in fact, I bought the third and fourth trades together and never bothered reading the fourth. Risso is an acquired taste that to me, is like having shit in your mouth. I absolutely abhorred his Batman run. -Chaykin, I know is considered one of the best, is still one overrated mofo in my eyes. -Dan's review of Logan #1 is on the docket for best of the year for me. Well done sir. Both hilarious and insightful. -drq...shame on you. Alan Davis is the man!

    A sad day

I once bought a wireless router for my PC and used the entire 30 days I had before returning trying to get the fucker to work. I did everything possible. I had my father-in-law (Principal of Technology for one of the largest school districts in my province) and my brother-in-law (hacker wunderkind) try and nothing. I called both Microsoft, my ISP and Linksys but they all told me it was the other guys' fault. I said "fine! I'm taking it back and getting a Mac!" So I promptly took it back, plugged my PC into my modem and bought a Mac three years later!

    SRMTHG on DVD?

That could be painful...but it might be worth it for the honey.

    RIP Jeff Healey

Yeah, I heard about this. Better guitar player than most blues guitarists who could see.
