  1. Get with the American Depression times my man. According to Yahoo, you'll get less than 5$ worth of goods. You can't even get a pack of smokes for that up here...take your worthless paper elsewhere Yanqui!
  2. Pssh! I control hockey sticks with my inate Canadian Hockey Telekinesis. Beware.
  3. Bravo! I agree wholeheartedly, too. What a peach this book is. The only so far beside Planetary for which I'd consider buying the Absolute edition.
  4. I was just told something by someone that would get someone in a very high position in a lot of hot water, even fired. Note my vagueness...but it's blackmail worthy.
  5. In the works...a little down the line but in the works nonetheless. I'm going to try and break up a lot of the Marvel stuff. It will be difficult. I can see where that will be a problem. Marvel, New Gods, Marvel, New Gods, Marvel... Jimmy Olsen!... New Gods, Marvel... Ha! Yeah...Jimmy Olsen is even in the New Gods books. Which is why I said I'd be covering stuff in his legacy. Look for a review of Jenkins and Lee's Inhumans sometime in the future as well.

  7. I should add that I have in mind what I'll be covering in the future but will certainly take requests. I'm more hoping to do single issues and shorter storylines of Kirby's rather than say The Fourth World, or Fantastic Four. It will be easier to dissect and even better when I can triangulate what I feel for certain works and stuff. Triangulate? Whuh?
  8. How bizarre was it that I had the same first thought? Sounds like Stavros needs to invest in buying some shit-kicking gear. Take those shell-suit wearing douchebags down!
  9. Totally. I'm in the process of accruing some Simon/Kirby as we speak. Some of Kirby's most dynamic stuff was that romance and western era. Mine have all disappeared unfortunately. I had a buch of reprints from the seventies that are now in somebody's trunk crossing the border...I'll get them. I swear it!
  10. I too am blocked from work, but only the main page. The forums are fine, hence me sending this note from work! Rather than the werewolf porn, the reason stated is that earth-2.net comes under gambling. Am I missing a sub-forum at all?? That must be the auction for Mike's picture with Winnie the Pimp
  11. Wow...thanks guys. Nice to wake up to praise. I was actually a little unsure about this one. It's been so long since I've written about comics that I didn't know if this was going to be interesting at all. I didn't want to start with this series either but the opportunity to check them all out dropped into my lap from a small green man with a wooden cane in a burlap robe (or a thirty year old bear, you choose  ). Next will be a single issue of Kirby's. Which one? You think I'm going to tell you? Wotta revoltin' development!
  12. Creepy gnome terrifies Argentinian town.
  13. Listening right now: -My parents and I were on a flight headed to Disneyland when I was three (I barely remember this but my parents have fully informed me that it did in fact happen) and there was a woman of Middle Eastern descent who clearly was having a panic attack and running up and down the aisles screaming in Farsi and rubbing her hands together. That wouldn't happen today. Can you say air marshall? -Johnny Depp film = The Libertine. No, Mike, it doesn't start with an A. More later maybe.
  14. I was showing someone at work how to use Google (seriously) and I put in my name. Lo and behold, there I was. Truth is, I remember thinking when I wrote this that I might have been harsher than I needed to be. I was in a firestorm of rage over the book and I was just throwing it at everyone involved. On the other hand, I'm reading this kid's blog, and he obviously can write, which brings me back to the question of why he seemed to be trying too hard to write in a style that obviously didn't suit him in this case. Ha! Nice. That Google thing is funny. We use Outlook for email in the school district and our Special Ed counsellor came to me today saying she couldn't find her new email as of Feb 21st. I was perplexed to say the least until I went to her office and taught her to scroll up.
  15. Is there a quote of the year award? If so, we have a winner. Great job all around guys. It keeps me away from The Last Defenders, that's for sure. Marvel just seems to be doing the most uninteresting shit with the most interesting idea they've had in decades.
  16. Yes! That's another band name... That's World's Finest teenage boys sex videos thank you! Where do I get tickets? Whoa! Lay off the Lovecraft, buddy. He did! He sold War Bonds and participated in sexually suggestive poses amidst weaponry... and your mother wears army boots!
  17. At least they're remaking shitty films now. If Platinum Dunes actually goes through on their projected remake of Rosemary's Baby, I may have to cut Michael Bay. I'll cut 'im so bad.

Is it sad that I like that song? Ricky Nelson is some of the first music I ever listened to...
