  1. I just got off the phone with the owner of the plumbing and heating company who installed my new hot water heater. They quoted me at 500$ plus installation (50$). They charged me 725$.

I made my claim and he said "did you call around for prices?"

I said: "That doesn't matter, your guy came to my house and quoted me that price."

He paused and then said, "make the cheque out for 550$ and know you got a hell of a deal."

    I said thank you.

Behold my mind powers! Plus a student said I looked like Goku...I think I know what that means.

  2. Anyone who's read Teen Titans in the past few years will know that Tim IS destined to be Batman and he kicks a whole lot of ass while doing so. I'd like to see him under the cowl perhaps being hunted by those who think he goes too far. Although, I think Bruce has to be dead for that to happen.

  3. Well, why do people say "ink pen" when talking about a pen?

Just because YOU say ink pen doesn't mean people say it. I've never heard someone say it before.

  4. While I'm not certain that he should be killed, I think there's a wealth of story there for succession. Why should every other human hero in the DCU do it and not Batman?

Supes and WW don't age so that's fine but I think that an aged taskmaster Bruce Wayne in the DCU would be more interesting than anything they're doing with him now.

  5. So, Ian's not worthy of the Union Jack anymore, Yoda? How dare you!

Lordi does rock, and yes I understand how Lordi's win in the Eurovision contest means something over there. I was living in Glasgow three years ago and had the bad fortune of watching it on television. What an irrelevant piece of shit that contest is! I love that Lordi won that song contest with one of their worst songs...

  6. Des, you broke my heart!

It was I who left the "did I just hear a French hip-hop song" voicemail. It was "anonymous" because I thought you'd recognize my voice. :( Anyway, I actually liked the song. It was just a surprise to hear it, that's all.

Oh, and great music this episode! I really dug the Lordi song!

Godddaaaaaammmmiiiitttttt!!! That was what I wanted to ask you the past two nights in a row!!!

I thought it sounded a bit like you but I'm used to a Skype-fuzz effect laid over top.

Lordi is the shiz-nit. Fuck the haters!

  7. That was basically the combined two pieces of released footage minus the shadow shot of the monster about to eat someone. A little anti-climatic but still can't wait for this.

It does give a good idea of what the feel of the movie will be.

I don't get a Blair Witch feeling from it. Probably because they didn't shoot Blair Witch with 20 thousand dollar cameras.

Heh! Yeah, and there isn't a chick doing a self-close-up with snot running down her face. In the trailer to Cloverfield, you see more of the threat than in the entire Blair Witch for that matter.

  8. Regarding The Blitz/ Blitzkreig. Blitzkreig was the overall style of fast-movng warfare that the Germans used during the 2nd world war. The Blitz is the term used to describe the specific bombing of the civilian population of Britain by the Nazis. The Blitz has become the common vernacular in the UK for this period of the War, Blitzkreig has a seperate meaning, even if it is the origin of the term.

Thanks for clearing that up. Considering I fancy myself an expert on WWII history, I really should have known that.

Thats OK, I don't expect any of you chaps to know that there was a war going on before December 1941. :P

    Haha! Nice one!

They were too busy dancing the Charleston to notice that eve us Canadians were going over there in droves!

  9. I've never been able to get into a Discworld book I tried Mort recently and I thought that might be the book for me but I was bored to tears after 25 pages or so.

Good Omens, with Gaiman, I consider a modern masterpiece.

Regardless, this is terribly sad news and I hope that his illness is as kind to him as possible.
