  1. I'd rather have a Spiderman musical romantic comedy be released than suffer through Spiderman battling a satellite in orbit over the earth....

    That, I disagree with.

    1) It could have been a lot worse

You're right, I suppose there were a few seconds of the film that could have been added to Mary Jane's subplot...and the constipated look Sandman had on his face the entire time could have culminated in an onscreen sandshit.

    2) It was fun to watch, a visual feast for eyes even if the script/dialogue/plot was lacking

I only partially agree with this: yes, it was pretty. But for 250 million dollars it goddamn better be pretty. I would still prefer the first two which were just as pretty, only they had stories that weren't slaps in the face.

    3) It's not the last Spiderman film.....with the sheer wealth of material to work with another director, another group of performers will get their stab at it and I'm fairly certain they'll be able to breathe new life into the franchise.

This we don't really know. Sure, there probably will be but there's also the good possibility that there won't.

  2. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2. It is very maligned in horror circles as the worst of the bunch. That has to be the third which many people say is the best. Dumb.

The guilty pleasure out of the pack must be Dream Warriors (which I like).

    There is no defending SM3...

Nope! I haven't done that in some time...I'll have you know! Someone is a stalker!

    DW! Band name!

    - dvd tray won't open

Hit the "open/close" button. The title is deceptive.

    - hollywood sucks all of it

    Yes, yes it does.

  4. Ian and I should hit up the bars of Chicago. I'll dress like a lumberjack with a tuque and he can wear a bowler hat and ascot. We'll live like kings I tells ya!

Dread Media, it should be noted, receives very little feedback as well. We do love you, Ian :D

  5. Metallica's Load, Reload and St. Anger are all good albums

Reload is a very underrated album. (It's actually the album that originally got me listening to Metallica.) I'm not a big fan of St. Anger anymore, but I'll still listen to "Frantic" and "Shoot Me Again" anytime.

The riff during "Ominous I'm in us" in Some Kind of Monster might be their best riff since the masters of Puppets album. Simple yet so very damn effective.

  6. Metallica's Load, Reload and St. Anger are all good albums (St. Anger the least good of the lot but a subpar Metallica album is still better than most excellent metal albums).

    So wait…

Metallica’s St Anger is better than most excellent metal albums? I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to say.

You heard right. Metal is treading water. Full of cookie monsters and twelve year olds with pretend-angst.

St. Anger is raw. So raw it's shocking. It's Metallica's worst album but I can listen to it more than 95% of the crap that's being called metal nowadays. That said, it has better listenability than Kill 'Em All, to me. Great album, that KEA, but not so enduring.

  7. House of M might have been a poor man's Age of Apocalypse, but it was still awesome.

Not even a poor man's AoA...

The Spaghetti Incident is a damn good punk album.

A damn good album period. They delivered the covers far more convincingly than most of the originals...except Attitude. I looooove I Don't Care About You. Worst part of that album is the terrible Charles Manson cover/secret song. Not because of Charles Manson, because it sucks.

I eat pizza without sauce. Most people can't stand (or understand) that.

Count me among "most people" :)

The pizza you are privy to because of geographical location? You don't know how good you have it, sir!
