  1. Don't forget to job out Cody Harlan. Wait for the summer. It will be a beautiful, beautiful thing to behold.
  2. http://xmenfilms.net/blog/2008/05/06/actor...s-in-wolverine/ Heh, the producers really don't like Marsden, do they?!? Fair point about where he fits in though. Granted, Logan has amnesia about his past, but just including Cyclops ties the films together a little too neatly IMO.
  3. - Finish my Comic Reel-lief article that I started months ago - Record a CR review of Iron Man - Plot the next month of oWa Adrenaline on the Oratory - Catch up my oWa feedback - Update my blog - Keep on top of my Museums Journal - Plan my weekends around more trips out of town and recording FYEO #2
  4. Good show, gentlemen! This is a veritable education!
  5. The Negotiator for both. I didn't like The Italian Job.
  6. Good stuff - I'd watch this over Marley & Me, certainly.
  7. But...but we already have a perfectly good Captain America film out there....... Eh, I can see the argument of it being a hard sale overseas - I fucking hate Americans after all, rite guyz?!? - but there's something in the idea that explosions and a starry cast could probably overcome a lot of that business. Even so though, I'd really have the European marketing campaign play down the patriotism aspect and instead make it about the story.
  8. Caught this last night. Really good movie with only a couple of nitpicks, and those were only right at the end so overall, nothing major. Expect a review once I get back from my travels on Sunday.
  9. Less than a week to go now, so yes! I'm not calling my co-host sleazy, per se, but the mention of a cocktail dress and being swept off your feet makes me mentally countdown when he might post in here again! That said, please don't take that as message not to post in this folder - recording Dr No (both times!) was a blast and I'm looking forward to From Russia With Love because I haven't watched that in ages. Hopefully it comes across!
  10. Switch The Mummy 3 with Iron Man and that'd be my Top 5. In Britain, I'd agree with you as to Iron Man's name recognition, but I reckon he's much better known than you think. If you consider the film opening in the coveted Spider-Man/X-Men release slot (seen by many as the start to the summer blockbuster season) and the scale of the advertising campaign, I'm sure Iron Man will be a hit, if not the biggest of the summer. As for personal interest, I'm interested in all the CBMs for obvious reasons + Indianna Jones
  11. Unless I'm duty-bound to watch a Brett Ratner film (like X-Men 3), I will opt not to. This announcement changes nothing.
  12. Ha, me too. From Woolworths, right? HMV, actually. Were I still a student, I could've used student discount and got it down to about £2.70!
  13. The more I watch that film, the more I warm to it. I think it's flawed but it'll be damn interesting to see how these films compare - which I'll do on Comic Reel-lief once this comes out. For the record, I haven't been impressed with either the trailer or screenshots of the new Hulk film, even the ones above. Then again, low expectations going in are probably better than huge ones, right?
  14. I think Routh's ever-so-subtlely stating what he thought was wrong with the last film, in a diplomatic, non-sackable, forward-looking kind of way. I've actually bought Returns on DVD (only £3, so I can just about sleep at night) to remind myself of how good he & Spacey were.....even if I haven't got round to watching it yet.
  15. I like this idea. It only seems fitting if Mike & Jenny are coming to England later on in the year. Lord knows I'll clear my diary for Jenny......and that Mike guy, if he's going....
  16. I was almost going to say "but there's nowhere in Britain" but that's clearly false. Even so, I have to work on Monday, so I won't be going 125 miles outta my way to visit the capital.
  17. I see what you did there, Dubs. Well met, sir!
  18. I would have done the same for FYEO, if it weren't for the fact the premiere's over a week away still!
  19. It's damn cool undoubtedly, but not quite enough to replace my picture of Anna Paquin (this is the basis for all my wallpaper choices, I should add!)
  20. Agreed. Less agreement, particularly the idea that Lois Lane was well realised, or that it's in character for Superman to actively stalk non-criminals. The way I see it, every Superman film has abjectly failed to bring in the Rogues gallery properly. I can deal with Luthor being used continuously because he's a persistant thorn in Kal-El's side, but the only other film villains he's faced are the Kryptonian traitors (who are admittedly cool), "Nuclear Man" and Robert Vaughan's wacky misfits. How hard is it to pit Superman, a genial force for good and American values, against someone that isn't Luthor? Honestly? God-like he may be, but I'd never describe Supes as an "angry god". Then again, a founder and CEO of a film company is unlikely to grasp such subtleties so here's hoping this is a Roven-esque gaffe in the vein of "hey, we might NOT use the Joker in the next movie!!"
  21. Ehhhhhhh......I'm still an atheist. But this is a nice bit of news, nonetheless. I, on the other hand, am deistic and I love whatever entity is up there for doing something as trivial, yet ultmately gratifying, as halting this farce!!

    Episode 33

Thought I'd drop belated thoughts here as I boot up this week's show! Great to here some mainstream stuff get a bit of coverage here. I wouldn't have you change your coverage of indie stuff at all because Dread Media offers a real platform to showcase this under-exposed stuff. But it's good to hear the odd mention of bigger films like The Mist, and the trashing of Tim Burton was fantastic! I haven't seen the Sweeney Todd musical or film, so I can't comment on that, but the continued casting of Depp and Bonham Carter really irks me. For balance, the Annabel Lee review was pretty cool too. For music, am I right in thinking you'll have to eventually get around to "Thriller"?!??
  23. Such a revelation makes me ashamed to not be American.
