  1. I love Superman Returns. On the basis that it won me an Earth-2.net award - the movie is fucking horrible. Cool character though, and even if there's a stupid amount of characters that have LL as their initials, I like the gist of his universe. Prefer Batman, but Supes isn't bad at all - WFP is certainly enhancing his reputation.
  2. I sorta watched Wicked Prayer all the way through, but I was very drunk at the time, so I remeber very little. I do remeber however, that Tara Reid ended up being ARRESTED rather than killed. Given that this is (loosely) a Crow film, that's so horribly retarded. Gotta love how you labelled then John Connor & Angel though!!! As for the personal geekdom question, I whole-heartedly agree with allowing such things. For one thing, I could churn out a couple of extra articles on a few obscure things from dear old Angleterre. Assuming I could fit in article writing between sleeping and eating, at the moment.... Ummm............what's a sharpie????
  3. "You didn't plan the city well enough, Luba. You instead kept thinking about your wealthy family, who didn't give enough money to the poor."
  4. I didn't like Goldmember in the slightest. Real letdown after the first two films.
  5. I wonder if Alan Moore will want any! I'm thinking that he won't....
  6. I think he means a new young team of X-Men kind of like The New Mutants or the current Young X-Men comic. Get a good director on this, and i think it can be pretty good. We can only pray it'll be better than Sin City, right? I don't think I mentioned that I'm generally not enamoured by Zak Penn either. X2 aside (which was based off a comicbook story arc in any case), how does this guy keep writing after Elektra, X-Men 3 and the Inspector Gadget movie?? My review for that btw - AVOID. Even at 13, I thought it was all kinds of awful. This is the guy who thought the Abomination name was "too silly" for Tim Roth's character in the upcoming Incredible Hulk film too.
  7. Hmmm, it's like I write a column and then Fox deliberately do the opposite of what I say to make me sad.....
  8. I'm warning you about him now.....

    The 'Duh' thread

You are probably the guy that lost my mom's luggage the other day :grumble: Nah, that'd be British Airways. I work for BMi and the tickets I screwed up up were ones from February, so I claim not to be guilty there!
  10. And Frankenstein's Monster sounds like Strong Bad on more than a few occasions.

    The 'Duh' thread

I work at an airline and it turned out today that I sent one South African airline's tickets in our possession to an airline in India. Whoops!
  12. Big step up, Kellen - having a co-host really helps the flow of a show and keeps it engaging for such a long period of time. I guess all podcast episodes suffer in some way with the first episode!!! .....................damn.
  13. Rachel Dawes believes in Harvey Dent That's quite an impression she's got going there!
  14. Happy birthday to you and all of Team Cross!
  15. Basically. And you want to drive between the trees on the way downhill if you can - it's a great way of getting ahead.

    Episode 31

Gosh no! The closest thing in my DVD collection to a horror film is Superman Returns!
  17. I don't think it's cool to hate on Lazenby, per se, and I certainly don't think the Bond team had an easy job following the initial Sean Connery run. But Lazenby only had the one film to make his mark and unlike Daniel Craig, he didn't capture the imagination to the same extent. Still that discussion will come in October. Yoda: Can hardly forget about Connery, although he's regarded as the benchmark against which subsequent Bonds are measured; something that isn't quite true for Adam West & Batman! That said, I didn't know he was up for Bond, although he and Roger Moore could have been interchangeable over the course of that era.... Ricelover: The plan is to do it in the official chronology first before dealing with the extras, so Lazenby would come between the last two canon Connery plans, then Moore, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig. Q: Adham deserves the official credit for the title, much as I'd love to claim it for myself! Dubs: At heart, the Bond franchise is basically an Englishman's wet dream and doesn't extend too far outside that demographic. That said, I do want to convince the listenership each month that the film has something to recommend itself outside of the basic formula, as some take on a more sci-fi bent, or classic espionage, or gritty action. Of course, there are some stinkers too, but they'll be fun reviews too! Des: I charm Canadian women too nowadays? Nice one!!

    Episode 31

I'm gonna miss the Horror Mall ad break, strange as that may sound. Just like E-2.n:TS feels like it ties itself more into the mainstream geek conscious by advertising the sponsors wares, so too did these last few episodes of Dread Media. Still if more guests offer readers direct promotions during their interviews, I'm sure I won't mind!
  19. Isn't Bond basically Batman without the costume? Just more English. But now you mention it... Adam West-ish jokey portrayal = Roger Moore Michael Keaton-ish dark, violent portrayal = Timothy Dalton Val Kilmer-ish solid performance without a definitive stamp = Pierce Brosnan George Lazenby-ish useless one off performance = George Clooney Christian Bale breath of fresh air = Daniel Craig Good catch! As for CR, Adham and I would like to branch out into the unofficial films (as there's been three thus far) and possibly other things like the cartoon series James Bond Jr. (Adham more than me) because the show only has a lifespan of about two years. But as Mike says, I'm terribly busy at the moment and it's affecting my regular Earth-2 contributions enough as it is without formulating links between my ish and this new podcast. Maybe in the future though - don't rule it out!

    Confession Time

I'm not actually British, I just do a damn awesome accent!!
  21. Honestly, although my thoughts on the last two are less than glowing, I think they could possibly do a good third one. Alba was MUCH better in the second film than the first, Reed Richards is pretty good and the Ben-Johnny relationship is good to see. But they'd have to pull out all the stops with this one, in a Spider-Man 3 style. And as the first two films are pretty mediocre, they wouldn't have much to lose by throwing everything against the wall IMO.
  22. Don't worry, Des - they say it's good themselves! So that should be a weight off everyone's minds!! Eh, I think this could be good. Still, it's very early to tell.
  23. Mike, you do realise I'm compiling all of this alien animal incest/the size of many Superman penises (penii?), don't you? Seriously, I could make my S:TAS recap off the back of these past 4 episodes alone!!!
  24. Same here if you substitute Ikkitousen for Chobitz. I saw the first episode and I was in stitches!
