Tragic: yes. Waste: I don't think so. Catherine Tate was only ever a one season deal and seeing as how Donna had grown into such a fulfilled and enriched person taking her back to square one was a good way to explain why she wouldn't be back.
...until she was brought back for 'End of Time'. That was a waste.
I think it was very refreshing to have an episode that was (for the most part) just fun and larks with a period of history. Not much in the way of a big story arc, not much in the way of character progression, just fun. Thanks, Gatiss!
I hung on till the end of season 7. I still haven't seen season 8.
Same as Stav-bro. I've been told that season 7 was awful but season 8 is ridiculous fun. Not inspired enough to try yet.
And what do you mean there were no sexy extras? I would be a gorgeous pancake server.
Also: what variety of cheese did you eat before you slept that night?
I totally agree, the three films we covered aren't the best reflection of his filmography. I suppose this is the problem with a big star with our format of choosing films that only one of us has seen - we've both seen the best and want to get a good range from across their careers.
I agree though that people still like him a lot: he seems like genuinely lovely guy!
