  5. Some gigantic douche just spoiled the thing that I'm guessing is 'that' event. FFS!
  6. Hey hey: Happy Birthday!
  7. Many happy returns, Sir!
  8. As they occur to me 1) The Bride vs O-ren Ishii (Kill Bill Vol. 1) 2) Neo vs Seref (The Matrix Reloaded) 3) Neo vs Smith - rumble in the subway (The Matrix) 4) Scott Pilgrim vs Matthew Patel (Scott Pilgrim vs The World) 5) Batman vs Bane - beneath Gotham (The Dark Knight Rises) 6) Arthur vs Security man - a zero-G adventure (Inception) 7) Charlie Baileygates vs Hank (Me, Myself and I) 8) Mr. Incredible vs The Omnidroid (The Incredibles) 9) Ace Ventura vs Lois Einhorn (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective) 10) Frost vs Nixon (Frost/Nixon) I started running out of ideas toward the end
  9. The Hogan/Austin/Rock: Bloody loved it HHH/Bryan: HHH is a bloody brilliant heel - made later events more worthwhile. Also, why has Triple H stolen the Crippler Crossface?? The Shield/Kane & New Age Outlaws: Why does Kane suck now? Over in minutes showcasing nothing Battle royal: Good fun if a little tricky to keep track of Cena/Wyatt: Great match - Wyatt is bloody creepy and Cena sold it all. Undertaker/Lesnar: Slow. RIP Divas: Bouncy Bryan/Orton/Batista: Maybe a tad obvious but I enjoyed it
  10. The mighty Leicester City have been promoted to the Premier League! You all need to know this.
  11. I had a blast with the whole douchie process. I love the world of the hypothetical! It's gotta be "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein", or as my English teacher called it after we had finished watching it as part of a school trip "Kenneth Branagh's Frankenstein"
  12. A vast improvement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo9CtmZ2wp4
  13. I'd struggle to disagree with that. Which is probably a bad indicator for the film's quality as a whole, but conversely, will keep me occupied for those long nights at sea... A lovely image. Thank you.
  14. They both have arrogance in spades and have similar attitudes to women - 'they will like me, I just need to convince them with rape/torture' Unfortunately for Stuckey he just doesn't have the opportunity or power to truly throw himself into his douche-baggery and unlike Robbie (seriously, fuck Robbie) there's no chance of him even approaching Humperdinck's level. He does the best with what he has and, yes, I do like an underdog but it's got to be Humperdinck due to his swaggering exploitation of his power to do whatever the fuck he wants regardless. Just proves that power doucherises us all.
  15. As before, what is similar between these two? Power over their respective fields (although Jessup clearly more) Sexual harassment (to which end Robbie gets someone pregnant) Refusal to uphold values attributed to their roles Clear opinion of 'us and them' The latter similarity is my main point. Jessup believes that he is vastly superior to all and thus he can do whatever he wants. Robbie believes that he is of a higher class and therefore he deserves his place and backing of wealthy couples. Again this comes down to potential douchery. At the end of 'A Few Good Men' Jessup is arrested - he has learned little and been caught. Robbie Gould has a cheque ripped up - he has learned little and got away with a lot. Assuming that Robbie continues to rise through the ranks using his connections he has the potential to become as powerful, manipulative and all-together dangerous as Jessup, and even more so if he continues down a medical route. How many horrible, unethical clinical trials could he run on 'lesser people'? How many people could he ignore in favour of 'worthwhile' people? How much more horrible, non-ethnic dancing could he inflict on the world?! Robbie Gould is a monster. Stop him, before it's too late!!
  16. Both have lots of power and have exploited it for their own agendas. I think I'm going to have to go with Jessup though due to the sheer cleverness with which he uses his power. There's also the fact that (as far as I know) Humperdink inherited his title and so on some level has been nurtured into his ways by his class. Colonel Jessup was given his status by people who clearly thought he was trustworthy enough to be given power in order to, as Shana says, to defend and protect his country. Jessup is a more dangerous, stealth-douche. Like Jimmy Saville.
  17. The only defence for Stuckey is the fact that he knows that she's a prostitute and therefore believes that she will put out because that's her job, but by the time that comes around in the film he knows/should know that she's very much changed her mind career wise. Plus he has a wife. Forshame. There's no telling whether Robbie's sexual conquest was consensual or not but the issue in Dirty Dancing is the aftermath, not the event. While Stuckey is the definitely the bigger douche in my eyes (I'm voting Stuckey - rape is not good) I'm glad that Robbie at least got this far. This asshole impregnated someone using his perceived superiority, refuses to acknowledge the pregnancy that he has caused and has learned and regrets NOTHING by the end of the film. This is the douche-baggery that is deserving of Round 4 of the Douchies, and if you have a play-off vote (losers from the semi-finals to determine 3rd place) I'd be hard pressed to choose between this cock-juggling thunder-cunt, a war hungry tyrant or a manipulative military official. I hate Robbie.
  18. Apart from Birmingham (think Ozzy Osborne). They're ridiculous =)
  19. Accent wise it's no man's land
  20. Northampton has nothing to do with it being northerly, in fact it used to be 'Norse Hampton'. Besides no accent sounds remotely northern until at least Sheffield (think Sean Bean).
