    Wikileaks

These guys are getting a lot of coverage lately and I thought we could discuss the pro's and con's of a 'service' like this. My views Anything that exposes corruption is good He has proven that he can be responsible with information, collaborating with news outlets for a synchronised leak after filtering out anything that could put someones life at risk You could argue that anything lodged with them could be automatically shared, but then you can't stop people posting dangerous material Anything that makes one person the arbiter of the truth is dangerous Like any source of information the media uses, it's open to what they don't report just as much as what they do To anyone who says they seem to be overly anti US government, they have been damning of ours in Australia and China about internet censorship.

  3. I love the interview with him after Airplane where he was asked about the dangers of being cast against type. His response was something like "my whole career has been against type, I'm finally doing type"...

Source Nintendo have been pulling in some big local stars, but this is a massive get, well done to them.
  5. God damn...... celebrity deaths don't normally impact me, but I did a double take on this.

I've just been invited to game night of playing RISK. I've only played once, years ago. Anyone played.. have tips for me to avoid being annihilated? Will be a group of 4 or 5.
  7. Hehe, yeah, still looks cute, but not Veronica Mars hot... Got a young voice still though, maybe she can switch to phone sex lines, haha. Movie looks only ok at best. I just can't see them having an ending that isn't either lame or makes no sense at all. It's why I like Scream 2, the double combo of the mum and the movie buff was kinda cool.
  8. The Delorean External Hard Drive
  9. But as long as no more big wall street firms collapse, every one is happy though..... right? Fuck that is just low....

I'll admit this is me arguing just to balance the debate, but in a country with unemployment above 10%, it's hard to tell someone to walk off the job if they don't like it. NOW, if the unions actually, you know, cared about workers, society, common man, they would actually have every single one of their members refuse to conduct the sexual assaults, I mean security checks, and they would be gone in a matter of days. On a side note, and I bring this up every time there safety is ramped up against terrorism, but someone could explode a suicide bomb on the NY subway under the hudson river and it would kill thousands and paralyse the city. But do you see anyone scanning every single user the subway? No, because it would cause a fucking outcry and isn't logistically possible. Just saying.
  11. Riley was meant to be boring, as Preston said, he was here attempt at a normal life, except for the whole super soldier serum thing.....

I'm not defending this in any way shape or form, like Jack said, buying a ticket isn't probable cause. I did find this article interesting on how it's affecting the staff. Staff in the screening area I guess we need to realise it's the fat cats in the 'Hill' that are doing this, not the guys employed to carry it out.

    1. Go to Google maps. 2. Go to 35 Sampsonia Way, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. 3. Click street view. 4. Turn the view around.
  14. Good point. Both have the potential to stupidly launch a nuke, the senile not long for this world guy who wants to make a name for himself, is probably more dangerous.
  15. From what I've heard this is Kim Jong's son showing the world he's as tough as his dad is. Only posturing which won't go much further than what it has. Scary to think within a couple of years, this kid who is 26 years old will be running a nuclear enabled state.
  16. Sorry, yeah I meant the TV series, should have said so. Which raises an interesting point, I view the movie as a stand alone product, not really related to the TV Show. Is that what the studio is also thinking? The problem with that reasoning is that the TV show created the audience, so like you say, people see it as the only one. I still stand by my, not calling it Buffy, but using the Slayer lore for the basis of the movie. Otherwise it will just feel weird.
  17. Beat me to it! Wouldn't the active fan base also be passionate about the original iteration?
  18. My thoughts exactly. Agree on both counts (Mel Brooks and Portman buttly goodness) It looks like it has no right to be good, but could actually work quite well.
  19. I thought the characters were bad at the start, but Roth was enough to keep me in and I've always had the hots for Kelli Williams. But I thought the other characters were fleshed more as the show went on. And the daughter doesn't annoy me, which is weird for the "keeping the kooky main character grounded" type character she's playing.
  20. I think it looks ok. You all know you want to see Waltz as crime lord.

Thats because the guy couldn't figure out who the protagonist was.... still cracks me up how he pronounces that
  22. Damn it, I have some sort of trojan/virus that I can't clean off. I now need to spend my night reformatting and installing my laptop. *sigh*
  23. Broker, Trader, Lawyer, Spy: The Secret World of Corporate Espionage by Eamon Javers Finished it a couple of months ago. Pretty interesting read about businesses trying to get an edge anyway they can. Great sub plot on the war between Mars and Nestle.
