  1. How psyched is that kid. Fantastic story, can't believe there is a soft side to Clay
  2. Maybe Cage just knows how to pick a good movie?
  3. I watched Ace Venture : Pet Detective again last night. Still holds up nearly 20 years later.
  4. International trailer, showing some banter between Fox and Wayne
  5. I like Gambit going to kiss Rogue all the time, it's like he thinks he's that much of a ladies man that he can beat her powers. Cracks me up.
  6. I think about 4 days from memory.
  7. Bumping this for another sibling, this time it's my brother travelling to the States this October. He's heading to NYC, Boston and Chicago and was wondering what you locals would recommend as activities, places to see, places to eat that aren't the usual tourist hub. Off the beaten path type thing. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
  8. 2 years on and we've changed themes to music/shakespeare mash ups. It started with Fleetwood Macbeth then we went to Hamlet it Be. Currently on Othello, is it me your looking for.
  9. Watched Zombieland again last night, Woody Harelson is just awesome in that movie. I used to think of it as the first time I saw Emma Stone zombie movie, but by god if he doesn't steal every scene he is in.
  10. My girlfriend is away for 3 weeks so I just bought Batman Arkham City. Should help me save money on entertainment

    The news thread

Is there a betting agency offering an over/under on when the Republicans will support gay marriage?
  12. Yeah there are a couple of lame bits in that, like when he tells her again she's going to be Taken, but other than that, it looks pretty damn good. I've watched the first one, probably 5 times. It's like Die Hard for the new generation.

    I bought an HDTV

I own or have watched these on Blu Ray and thought they really show it off. - Casino Royale - The Dark Knight - Sin City When I first got it, I always put on the intro to Casino Royale with the chase through the construction site to show off to friends. It is amazing.
  14. Yeah, it has flaws, but as a statement about how sexist the film industry (and movie going public) still is I think it works.
  15. The running Office is the massive one for me. Why I've been so anti tablet is that it just can't replace a workstation for me. I touch type emails, blog posts, etc and tablets can't handle that. As for appealing to business, easy, if the keyboard and stand combo make it as easy to use as a laptop, then all of a sudden you only need one device for your staff instead of two. I know a lot of companies that pay for their staff to have a computer (either desktop or laptop) and also an iPad. The computer allows them to do all of their back office stuff and the iPad is used more with clients. Granted, services like salesforce have helped the iPad with the back office stuff, but I still think this has a place. Plus you have to remember that the majority of MS profits are from running business, so they have the history and knowledge to know what the IT departments need, so if this is a seemless plug in to the work environment, it could do big business. Or it could crash and burn because people don't think MS is cool
  16. Eh, if women were really that uppity about it, they would refuse any script that fails the Bechdel Test. 1. It has to have at least two [named] women in it 2. Who talk to each other 3. About something besides a man Unfortunately about 99% of movies fail it! If only Hill and Black Widow spoke to each other, even if it was over the radio, this movie would have made the list!
  17. Last time I used an iPhone you could download but not set it to do them automatically. Is that still the case? I can't believe how much easier podcasting is on the Android. I used to hate having them seperate to music, but it does make a lot more sense in practice.
  18. It will be a very interesting take. Ronny Cox was such awesome blend of smarmy bastard and ice cold corporate asshole.
  19. You know, I could actually see that. Her work in Arrested Development was pretty good I thought.
  20. Bryan Cranston in a Total Recall reboot, Hugh Laurie in a Robocop reboot, the world is nuts!
  21. And more Keiran Culkin, that guy is really growing on me!
  22. He has now released a "Lite" version that is free, so everyone can play it! Check it out, it's heaps of fun especially the 2 player on the 1 device mode.
  23. Watched Super 8 on the weekend. Not sure what all the fuss was about, it seemed pretty by the numbers to me. That isn't always a bad thing, but when so many people were going on about it I didn't think it did anything amazing. The girl in it was pretty damn talented though, the rest of the kids were just ok, oh the kid who lost his mum is pretty good in it as well.
  24. Saw this last night and it is really pretty good. Jemaine Clement does a great job of channelling Hugo Weaving as the main bad guy. Brolin was amazing as a young TLJ and the story was a lot better than I was expecting. The last 10 minutes was a bit too mushy for my liking, but almost as good as the first one and definitely better than the 2nd.
