Not for nothing, but I read that and nothing offensive came to mind. It had to be spelled out for me. This Jeremy Lin story has been dominating for the last little while. Heck, while running errands, I listened to five ESPN podcasts full of Lin talk. Everyone has seemed to have been waiting for the other shoe to drop. The shoe dropped. And see what I just typed there. Waiting for the other show to drop. A commonly used idiom. Just like a chink in the armor. Replace Jeremy Lin in that photo and replace it with Tim Tebow. Is there outrage? No. I get why it was pull and ESPN is trying to spin this. PR spin control. People saw something and in the twitter age, it gets attention. But, like I said to start, I saw nothing because I wasn't looking for anything.
  2. Chris Hero's new name = Kassius Ohno.
  3. A co-worker of mine is moving away with today being her last day. Management wanted to make it a big deal since she had worked there for over 15 years. Cake & flowers and such. We have always gotten along well enough and never really had much in the way of problems. It amazes me how people act in situations like these. People she has not gotten along with are all of the sudden best of friends. I just don't get this need to fake, um, friendship is the only phrase that springs to mind. I was the only person to treat her the same today as I would any other day. And I really dislike being looked down upon for not 'going along with it'.

Cleaning my parents basement. In an old box, I find a Christmas card from high school. And I quote: "Don't be such an annoying dumb stupid guy who always says 'smart' comments." Can't say much has changed.
  5. Times like these, I love pro wrestling.
  6. Dragon Gate USA iPPV on March 30th is to be $1.99. I cannot find any info about this on the DGUSA website. However, if this turns out to be true, I will be checking this out. I hear nothing but good things about DGUSA and what is $2 really?
  7. Spider-Man & Silver Sable - I like 80s Marvel, specially 80s Spider-Man. X-Men: Bizarre Love Triangle - I have no idea what this was. All I know is it was not good. I don't think a single character acted normally. Trades: 15 (90.5)
  8. I really like The Offspring. I think part of the reason why is the sloppy/unfocused-ness that you guys were not a fan of. Out of their entire catalog, I like The Offspring the most. It has my favorite song of theirs (Beheaded) and I really like the opener (Jennifer Lost The War). Also, the album cover is just awesome. Ignition is an album that I have owned for over a decade now. I don't think I have ever listened to it, or if I have I don't remember a single thing about it sans the opening five seconds.
  9. I have been having problems off and on for the last month. Mostly will fix itself in an hour or so. This time, I haven't been able to do anything for the past two days.
  10. If Machete don't text, then Machete don't do space travel.
  11. I love Machete. I really really do. But if they go into space? Just no.

    NFL

It's a lot of things. No one likes the team that wins a lot over a couple of years. 2007 was a big ine; they ALMOST went undefeated, and they fucking stomped over a lot of teams on the way, wining by ridiculous margins. Spygate lost a lot of people. Also, and I'm the first to admit this because I see it all over here, there are a LOT of asshole Pats fans. We're used to seeing our team do well and we can be obnoxious as fuck. We're the new Yankees fans. Add in the fact that you have a lot of bandwagon jumping fans. At least around me, there were ZERO Pats fans until they won that first Super Bowl. Now there are a lot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xj0inhDf6UE I just absolutely love the poor audio quality of Candy Man. The record pops are EXACTLY how I remember this song from my dads album collection. Great times.

True. However, I am not 100% sure on Ian's last solo album (Rupi's Dance), but the one before that (The Secret Language of Birds) had Barre & Giddings. So, I assume that this new album, solo or band, will have the current Tull line-up all over it.

My favorite band, Jethro Tull, is set to release a new album in April. Or it will be an Ian Anderson solo album. I don't really think it matters much anymore, Ian is Jethro Tull for all intents and purposes. The thing that really gives me pause it that it will be "Thick As A Brick 2". I don't like sequels generally.
  16. I know that graduating law school is a big deal. I get that. I really do. I understand your want for a party. Go nuts, you've earned it. However, planning your party for the exact date of a trip planned well in advance is not cool. The trip to NYC has been set since last October. Your party has been set since, last Tuesday. And your party is also a week after your graduation. Why? As a result of your selfish actions, your husband has no choice but to not go on the trip. I know that you said that the rest of could still go. Yet, I know that you know that we have an rule against such a thing. You see, this trip was to see the Reds play both the Mets and Yankees in NYC in our continuing effort to go to every baseball stadium. Before we started, we agreed that we would only go to a new stadium if the entire crew (3 people can be a crew, right?) is present. And yet, you fail to compromise. You will not move your party to Sunday, or delay it a week. I would compromise, but I doubt calling MLB and asking for a schedule change would result in anything. The Reds playing the Yankees in NYC doesn't happen every year. If this was a game against the Cubs in Chicago, I really wouldn't care that much. Later in the season, or next year, wouldn't make a difference to me. Yeah, I'm pissed.
  17. The PPV was not good. The cage was was alright, given that Henry cannot do much at the moment. Cena/Kane ended like I expected and I skipped most of it. But this feud killed Ryder for no good reason. The Punk/Ziggler match had potential that was not met. The entire Johnny Ace storyline just killed any momentum the match may have had. Which is sad because... Way to much filler. Drop the Clay/McIntyre and Divas matches and maybe give the Title matches more time and I would like them better. Plus, the Cena/Rock video packages are good, but not on a PPV. The Rumble itself was bad: - When with biggest pop was for Jim Duggan, you have problems. - Sheamus winning seems to be a swerve for swerves sake. - The comedy was okay and kept to a minimum. Ricardo~! was a highlight to be sure. The Foley/Santino interaction was fun too. - While Rhodes/Miz lasted a long time, I never really felt like they did much. I think Rhodes eliminated the most people, but it never felt like he was on a roll. As for the commentators being in the Rumble? Kinda unneeded, but I cannot think of anyone of note left out of the Rumble. Off the top of my head: Uso #2, Tyler Reks, Heath Slater, Curt Hawkins, Tyson Kidd, nXt guys, and I cannot think of anymore. Maybe Goldust? Not anyone that would be a threat to win. The roster is kinda weak.

    Tennis

Only caught the 4th & 5th sets of the finals, but that was some good tennis. It came down to who made the last mistake, which unfortunately was Nadal. I really think had he not missed his backhand after breaking Djokovic in the 5th that Nadal had it. Momentum is tricky thing. And I never really thought about the RPS analogy before, but it really fits. I was watching and remembering Djokovic being this talented kid that just couldn't beat the big two. My, how things change.
  19. I randomly felt like watching some Eddie Guerrero. So I popped in his DVD set and two things stand out. 1) Trying to explain lucha tag rules to my roommate is comically difficult. Also, Madonna's Boyfriend. 2) Eddie vs. Rey. Mask vs. Title. Eddie has the greatest mullet of all time. Seriously, that mullet is a 10 and all others can only be 8. It is that awesome.
  20. Spider-Man: Animal Magnetism - This did not need to exist. I like Spider-Ham as much as the next guy and releasing a one-shot for the 25th anniversary was a nifty little thing. But a trade was not needed, specially when you add in an issue of the Epic Comic: Top Dog. Trades: 13 (80.5)
  21. I watched the movie and didn't much care for it. I then read the books then rewatched the film and kinda enjoyed it. Not something I see myself watching again tho. And I will agree with Knightwing, the ending of the film was rather poor.
  22. Ultimate Comics Spider-Man Vol. 1 - While not crazy about the 'reset' of the Ultimate line, this still the Ultimate Spidey that I like. That said, the art? Not a fan. Trades: 12 (76.5)
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDhqezjxosk The only complaint that I have is that the commentary stayed at 1. A little excitement would have been nice.
  24. X-Men: Psylocke - Pass. The classic Uncanny issues included were better. X-Men: First Class - Graduation & Uncanny X-Men First Class: Knights of Hykon - I am enjoying these. It is nice to read a X-Men story that is not bogged down with endless crossovers. Also, the digest size doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Spider-Man: Death & Dating - Surprisingly to me, I am liking the post OMD Spider-Man. Only thing that doesn't sit right is the whole Jackpot scenario, as it seems out of character for Peter. Trades: 11 (70.5)
