Magic School Bus = The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?
  3. Preston, I think he actually needs to use that whole kitchen thing.
  4. I am a horrible person, and this will probably be more passive-agressive and not help solve anything, but... DO IT!

I just cooked a NY strip steak. Cooked it just enough so that it was warm and had the disease cooked out of it, but was still properly good and bloody. Mmmm.
  6. Green Lantern #46: Sot this month, Carol and Hal and Sinestro are teaming up, though most of the focus is on Sinestro, as we gallivant over to Korugar for some character development for Sinestro, which is awesome. Some excellent spreads in this issue, looks really good. Green Lantern Corps #40: Yeah, I think I'm picking this book up at the least for the rest of the Blackest Night run, and possibly beyond. Fun stuff with Arisa, Kyle, and Gardner, along with the Clarissi being made of fucking awesomesauce. Eager to see the next few months' developments. Gotham City Sirens #4: ...Okay. I think this is the story that was meant to run last month. And also the art's not getting better; Thunderbolts: So, yeah, things fall apart with the team this month, and damn, is it fun to watch. Wonder Woman #36: So, Gigantra and Wonder Woman end up having a heart-to-heart over men, cause Diana revealed the truth to Tom, took him into her soul, and showed him how much she wanted to commit to him, and then he ran the hell away. And then they face off against Dickelles, and Diana fights against him because of a promise she made to Pele last issue, and then Dickelles threatens to hang Hippolytaya if she interferes again. Also, Amazons are having immaculate conception. The hell? Secret Six: Unhinged: So, I got this off Amazon and it has the beginning and last issue of the arc that I was missing. And I will agree with Mike's analysis in E2tS that the overall plot wasn't exactly the strongest, and may rely on knowing the miniseries (which I didn't). But, again, I'm in this more for the characters than the plot. Solid, but not zomg awesome. Comic Books: 107 TPBs: 23 Graphic Novels: 2 Motion Comic: 1
  7. I grew up in WI, too, and the only time I was up early by choice was for school at 7:30 for middle and high school.
  8. Target's AI-based hiring sucks. I'm sorry 'bout that, Mike. (Which reminds me, I need to start looking for a winter job. oO) Dear Lovely Frat-Remnant/Football Neighbors and Janitor-Type Persons: Stunningly enough, between the hours of 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning, people are, in fact, trying to SLEEP, especially if they've just been up till about 1 trying to do homework. So, your loud, annoying conversations as you're going off to what I assume is practice, the way you're sure to passive-agressively loudly take out the recyclables and garbage, and the fact that you left your loud, annoying cell phone ringer on and proceeded to have a yelling conversation with someone, are very, VERY much not appreciated. No love and increasingly sleep-deprived, ~Me
  9. On Macs, the only stuff that matters is on the bottom, and the HD icon.
  10. I'm on the Ultimatum section. Hehe. I love your guys' pain. ^^ On the whales thing: Probably? Maybe not that close, but. Also looking forward to hearing The Nail.
  11. Speaking as a female, the tops maybe, maybe I could understand, but Jesus god, that many purses?!

It's Oktoberfest out here, which means good food, kitschy stuff for sale, obnoxiously loud music, and, for those lucky bastards who are old enough, alcohol. I am not one of these said lucky bastards. Either way, good cheap food, here I come!
  13. Just saw Boondock Saints for the first time tonight. ...I may have a new favorite film.
  14. So, to try and get a solid nine hours of sleep, I go to bed around 11 yesterday. Assholes in the hall keep me up until about 1 in the morning. Around that time, I finally pass out. And then I got woken up by the janitors, who were being hellishly loud, at 5:30 in the morning, managed to get back to sleep around 7, and just woke up now. Is it so much to ask to get a decent night's sleep?
  15. So. Stephenie Meyer is getting an biographical comic. About writing Twilight. *TWITCH* Preview, for those of you masochistic enough.
  16. Don't get me wrong, I thought the way the relationship was built was solid enough, even if I found the way it turned out a bit depressing. Also, more or less agree with Preston in my disbelief that Eli would be willing to put Oskar through all that, but, you never know. I just couldn't get myself to get emotionally invested, at all.
  17. YES. My iPod just sold for $110 on Amazon. And I'll have a large paycheck in my account by the time I wake up tomorrow. This? Leads to being able to buy the new 160 gig iPod (which I will realistically not fill for at least a few years) with Amazon discounts. Now, let's just hope that enough bubble wrap will pad its journey to Texas.
  18. Didn't take it as one, Des. Frankly, the only reason I'm actually following her book is for the shameless fanservice.
  19. Is she actually being portrayed as competent and anything beyond fanservice fodder?
  20. Power Girl #5: Yeah, this book is pretty much what I expected it to be; mindless fanservice. ...And I can live with that. Guilty pleasure book, whee! Blackest Night: Superman #2: Marked improvement over last month. Art remains awesome, and the story's coming together well on everyone's fronts. Also, Martha Kent going "It's on!" is beyond priceless. Wednesday Comics #12: A good end to a nice run. The comics were wrapped up nicely, and I'd honestly love to see something like this again. Comic Books: 102 TPBs: 22 Graphic Novels: 2 Motion Comic: 1
  21. Just finished Let the Right One In. It's a solid film, but sorry guys, don't see what makes it so amazingly spectacular. Also, kind of yay for incredibly fucked up romances and ?
  22. Watched the new Mad Men ep last night. Love this show, so much, especially with its examples of horrible 60s parenting, and the funness of office politics and marriage dynamics, too. Joan, Dan, Peggy, and Sally have to be my favorite characters on that show. Currently putting on Gankutsuou to have something in the background while doing reading for class; haven't watched this in quite some time, love the visual style and the voicing in this (also, Joji Nakata's voice is the sex). Watching LTROI later tonight, when I'm done with most of my homework.
  23. Le envy, Mike. See, that's just odd. Every other story I've read with Power Girl portrays her as a strong character who is often annoyed at her objectification. Her portrayal in this movie was just odd, even if her storyline made some sense. Read through her current comic. She's being portrayed as horribly incompetent. To quote one user at scans_daily's reaction to the preview for PG #5:
