Just... how do you make a movie out of WoW? And why, besides getting more money out of the fanoboys? I am confused by this, but might go to see it, just to see how ridiculous it might be.

It's been a pretty good day or so. My profs (husband and wife team, yay!) were happy to provide me with a book list for their classes this fall (only four books!), and the one encouraged me to bounce ideas for the research question I'll be developing in the class not only liked the ideas, but suggested that I meet with his wife, who is my advisor, to hammer things out early in the term. Also, may hopefully be getting a job in the Anth department this year. *fingers crossed* The coworker who left us high and dry on Sunday is apparently going to be talked to, thank god. Sent Disney a question about royalties for showing two Miyazaki movies at school this year, got a prompt response directing me towards who I need to talk to, and will hopefully hear back from that person soon. Also, found the BSG Season 4 soundtrack, which is probably the best work Bear McCreary's done on the show. And is amazing.

Battlestar Galactica Season Four soundtrack. "Kara Remembers", specifically. Ohgod. I love Bear McCreary, have I mentioned this?

Getting close to being done with this. ...Eh. Not my favorite movie. Most of the movie is fight scenes, and while they're nice, they're not exactly my cup of tea, especially when it skimps on plot and characterization. Nice one-time watch, but not worth watching it multiple times.

I don't feel like the first half of the series is anything special, really, but the second half is where it's the strongest.

Agreed; the introduction to Jordan and Ferris was pretty brief/nonrevealing, and then we were into Abin Sur, who was also not explained. Honestly, I'm watching this for training on Oa, and for what we didn't get in New Frontier (which, as you pointed out, was a good origin, but for me, didn't reveal all of what I wanted to see). Also, the GL transformation is very... magical girl-esque.

Flash: Rebirth was the first experience I've had with Johns' Flash, so maybe it wasn't the best introduction for me. What would you recommend I read to get a better sense of his Flash?

Ehh. I've not much liked his work on Flash: Rebirth, so if it's anything like that, I'm wary. However, he's done a good job with Green Lanern to this point, so I'm interested in seeing what he comes up with.

Watching episode 4.17 of BSG (Someone To Watch Over Me). Besides the plot, the music in this episode is possibly some of the best in the entire series. South Park, actually. Trapped in the Closet.

Dear Coworker: -Sending us an email at 11 PM last night that you had bronchitis after going to your wedding = slightly unbelievable. That you mentioned that you would be an hour late did not help your case. -Coming in an hour late and laughing about how other coworker had to be up at 8:30 to work the night after her 21st birthday = not okay. -Whining about "how you work so much" when you've got eighteen days off at the beginning of August, and saying taht the three vacations you've taken already this summer don't count = even more not okay. -Announcing to us taht you were leaving in an hour at one with seemingly no supervisor approval when you should've been on a nine to seven, and had just come in at ten, and then leaving me and other coworker and the occasional ranger who could help to handle the resulting rush after 2 = I'm talking to boss about you now. Sorry, Dave Matthews fans, but the Matthews crowd that comes out to camp is the worst of the campers that come to state campgrounds, hands down.

Also, for the record, the first Death Note Rewrite is useless if you've already seen the series; essentially just the first half of the series compressed into two hours with ten minutes, tops, of new footage.
