  1. No. If not for her, I wouldn't have known that it was in The rest of the scene really didn't show it well.
  2. It might have, but I'd bet that the extreme media coverage of the leak helped it a lot.
  3. That makes sense, but it seemed that Well, I certainly don't think that the people making the films are huge fanboys (not the ones at Fox anyway).
  4. I got the "Logan in Japan" ending, and a buddy of mine got the Deadpool one. Overall, this film was a resounding "ehhhh..." The Characters: The Story: Watch it if you're a big comics fan (if only so you can use it as a conversation topic later), but otherwise wait for the DVD and rent it.
  5. Well, Galactica was a VERY old ship already.
  6. THAT looks awesome. It looks like maybe they actually took some advice from the first film and actually pulled the camera back on the action shots. Oh, and it's relatively easy to tell the 'bots apart now! I'm also happy that they're actually giving Sam a good reason to exist in the film's plot. This is very, very cool. I'm actually looking forward to the film now.

  9. There's a comics shop in Dallas that's having a whole family event, with food, entertainment, and free stuff. Yay for me...
  10. I would think that a new story (one that's more kid-friendly) would be more easily marketable. After all, the original story was more of an adults' film anyhow. In this day and age, it's more likely that they'd go with the kid-friendly approach rather than adapt the adult-themed original plot.
  11. Why would they do that? The original film still stands up (since it's a period piece and all), and there's way more stuff you could do with the franchise. Are you seriously asking that question? Yes. Even stupid film execs are smart enough to realize that. The marketable (and easy) thing to do would be to tell a new story within that fictional universe.

  13. I did some research, and the old DVD box is labeled "Two-Disc Special Edition," whilst this new box is not. Much rejoicing.
  14. There's probably more than one version of the DVD, just like The New Frontier and Wonder Woman. Though personally, I don't mind the new one too much. I kinda like it.
  15. Actually, all indications are that if Wolverine does well in theaters, a REAL Deadpool movie is next. The basic idea is that Ryan Reynolds himself has said that he would LOVE to do a true-to-the-comics Deadpool (4th-wall-breakage and all), so hopefully Wolverine will actually spawn something worthwhile.

Yeah, me too. I they allowed you to play your VC games on both the Wii and DS without having to pay twice, I'd be overjoyed.

Heh. So would I. I suppose if you can't pay the money for an iPod Touch, the multimedia features are nice. If they start putting classic GameBoy games on the download service, I just might have to snag it.

I believe that you get something like 1000 Nintendo points for their online store when you purchase the system. The point of the DSi is really just to be an upgrade to the DS/DS Lite, not to be a "sequel system."

Well, it plays all the old DS games, but if you mean the downloadable ones? Yup, and more coming. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_DSiWa...nd_applications
  20. O_o NUCLEAR MAN?!? Betcha five bucks he shows up as a minor character in the Wolverine movie. (nice pull, btw.)
  21. ... I am honestly not sure what to make of that. Should I cheer because it's Megan Fox in a ridiculously sexualized outfit, or boo because it's Megan Fox in a ridiculously sexualized outfit?
  22. I didn't actually mean you, but okay. I stand by my statement. Can we get back to the actual topic now? Y'know, that other mass killer? The one with claws?
  23. Star Wars films: The Phantom Menace: the dreaded Sith return to help settle a financial dispute. Attack of the Clones: A grown man marries his former babysitter. Revenge of the Sith: Man murders his pregnant wife. A New Hope: Boy falls in love with his sister. The Empire Strikes Back: Boy kisses his sister. Return of the Jedi: Young man is tickle-tortured by an old man. I like to apply it to fairy tales and legends as well. Santa Claus: Old man watches children while they sleep, then breaks into their homes at night to give them "presents."
  24. Seconded. It's so insanely violent that it's funny. Exactly. How great is a movie that every time someone blows up, it makes you laugh? Perhaps we're using the word "great" more in terms of "fun." It's so ridiculous that it's basically detached from the real world (hence why we feel comfortable laughing).
