Sean Astin: The Goonies, Rudy, and 50 First Dates

X-2: X-Men United: Probably the best of the first three X-Men films. That said, it does still suffer from too many characters to the point where Cyclops is missing from the plot for most of the film and you barely notice because there are still like ten main characters! Batman & Robin: Is it bad? Sure but it's still a ton of fun to watch! Films: 30 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 2

You go into the movie thinking it's going to be mostly stoner humor and it kind of is but it's definitely on the good side of that. Jonah and Danny are the standouts definitely but most of the cast is still terrific. If I didn't already have a crush on Seth Rogen before the movie, I definitely had it after. Anyway... Kung-Fu Hustle: Somehow forgot we watched this during C2E2. Honestly just one of my favorite Kung-Fu movies because it's hilarious while also being just good, over-the-top Kung-Fu. The Landlady is the best. Films: 28 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 2

My Step-Brother is a Vampire?!?: It's another David DeCoteau talking animal family film. It's not the worst but by far still a bad movie. Teen Witch: It's a bad movie but more unfocused than anything else. The Dragon Warrior: Still as dumb and nonsensical as the first time I watched it. The Emperor's New Groove: Still one of my favorite films of Disney's kind of down slope in the early 2000s. Fun/ Films: 27 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 2

It was an overall good C2E2.Having been away for a few years, it was nice to see how much the con has grown. Saturday, as always, was the most crowded but they have increased the number and variety of panels that you can hide away from the floor and listen to some cool (and not so cool) people talk. Friday and Sunday remained the days to walk the floor. Artist Alley was really varied. There was a good combination of Main Stream Artist, Indie people, and Web People that it felt really cool seeing some of their stuff. This years trend appeared to be Blind Boxes on the Sales Floor. I'm not sure how I feel about that but ehh, kudos? One thing that really struck me though about this year is how inclusive everything felt. It wasn't just a bunch of 20s-40s white guys. There were tons of people of different backgrounds at the con (I actually sat across from an older pair of women on my way home on the bus who had gone to the con). Hell, what made me really happy was seeing more than a few gay couples walking around, able to hold hands in public. Also, having used public transit for most of the trip, if we need to keep the cost down and want to pick a hotel further from the venue, I now know it is actually somewhat feasible if it's close enough to any of the major lines. A week long Ventra Pass is actually cheap enough (assuming you're not me and somehow lose two of them in the span of five days). By the way, next year's C2E2 is February 28, 29th, and March 1st. Just in case anyone is planning to make the trip. It's cold and possibly still snowy that time of year but definitely worth the time.

Heathers: Rewatched because Riverdale's episode this week features Heathers The Musical. Still love it! Zoolander: Better than it has any right to be. Wreck-It Ralph: One of the best Disney films of the last few years. Always enjoyable. Films: 23 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 2

Disney is holding off on production until after Gunn has finished Suicide Squad 2 according to Deadline.

Personally, I think they should put The X-Men in it's own corner. Retconning them into existence just doesn't work. Fantastic Four and Latveria are much easier. Saying that there's always been a group of people that are hated and feared is much harder. As someone who has read X-Men for years, the thing that makes X-Men is that it's an ensemble piece and if one thing most X-Men films fails at, it's how many characters are just in the background. So, real talk, Disney should skip doing X-Men as just films. They have Disney+, they have Hulu, they have multiple Cable Networks, just do a series. Do multiple series. X-Men is a soap opera. Embrace it.

The Great Muppet Caper: Always a load of fun and I somehow forgot that Diane Rigg played Lady Holiday! Captain Marvel: I highly enjoyed it. There are a couple of places that it drags but, overall, I had fun! Films: 20 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 2

I pointed it out to someone online: The crossover usually happens Episode 8 or 9 of the season and this is going to be a 10 episode season.

Idris Elba is replacing Will Smith as Deadshot in the Suicide Squad sequel.

James and I are staying at Hannah's place so I'm not sure on proximity to there. I would be up for The Room more than Rocky Horror. I'm also going to bringing a list of some bad movies with me in case anyone wants to watch one. Also, Mike, if there are any panels you'd like me to record for you, let me know. Otherwise just going to record whatever I end up hitting up.

X-Men: I decided to try and watch all of the X films leading up to Dark Phoenix coming out. It's better than the first time I watched it but most of the characters are just kinda there. The Dark Crystal: Despite loving Jim Henson and fantasy films, I have somehow went my entire life without seeing this. It's very visually wonderful. I'm less enamored with the story but it's also an 80s fantasy film so it is what it is. Crazy Rich Asians: I love RomComs. Definitely one of the best I've seen in recent history. All the subplots work well and most of the character just work really well. Special attention to Constance Wu, Awkwafina, and Michelle Yeoh who should have definitely gotten nominated for an Oscar here. The Hunger Games: Josh Hutcherson doesn't get enough credit for how charming he is the entire movie. Big Hero 6: Actually watched this after the Super Bowl and completely forgot to include it on the list. Enjoyable. Films: 18 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 2

Empire Records, The Strangers, Space Station 76.

If Avengers Endgame wasn't out this year, I'd say this is going to be the highest grossing film of the year. The kids are going to want to see it, their parents who grew up with Pokemon/liked Deadpool are going to want to see it, and then you have everyone between.

The Dressmaker: Some solid Kate Winslet acting in a very enjoyable film about dressmaking, revenge, and small towns. Add in one of the lesser Hemsworth brothers and Judy Davis plus Hugo Weaving in a hilarious role and this is easily a keeper. Ocean's 8: I saw this when I was drink last year and enjoyed it. I saw it sober and I absolutely loved it. Definitely deserved better than it got at the box office. Films: 13 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 2
