  1. The problem comes when you decide what to cover. Obviously there's the main 8 features (The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets Take Manhattan, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, Muppets From Space, The Muppets, and Muppets Most Wanted) but then you have two Made-For-TV movies (It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, The Muppets' Wizard of Oz) two Straight to Video films (Muppet Classic Theater, Kermit's Swamp Years), and then even two Sesame Street films (Follow That Bird, Elmo in Grouchland).
  2. The Real World: San Fransisco is nearly too old to be on The Real World.
  3. Muppet movies would be a real fun one to cover.
  4. I will make jokes about Crazy Alice Cooper but Mädchen Amick is legit my favorite actress on the show.
  5. For me, the main reason I have stuck with Riverdale is that most of the actors never sleep walk through any of what they're given to work with. There are tons of shows that are badly written and the actors can't be bothered to care. Riverdale is often ridiculous but that fact that all the actors keep on selling it keeps me interested. So, even though we had Teenage Mafia Archie, the many personalities of Cheryl Blossom, Gang Leader Jughead, and any number of other insane, almost lazily written plot threads, the fact that the actors embrace the show's refuge in audacity makes me just as excited about it as they are. Plus, as a musical theater buff, the fact that they did an episode revolving around freaking Carrie The Musical just totally jazzed me up.
  6. Blade Runner 2049: It's not the original film but then again, what is? It is still really solid. It's more Cyberpunk than Neo-Noir and the stakes are much too high considering what the stakes of the original film were but still admirable film-making. Films: 48 Repeats: 2 Made For TV: 1 Documentaries: 1 Straight to DVD: 1
  7. Watched last Sunday and I just forgot to actually write it. Logan: Holy crap. People told me this was emotional but goddamn, I didn't realize it was to this extent. Like, I actually cried at the ending even though I knew it was coming. The fact that Patrick Stewart alone didn't get a nomination is a fucking shame. Sidenote: Patrick Stewart hasn't even gotten any of the components of an EGOT and that's a crying shame for the record. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: I know I said this the last time I watched it but maybe it's because I watched it during Pride Month. Maybe it's because I watched it on Father's Day. The Guardians are the perfect example of how we choose our families and why that is perfectly valid, especially when the people we're related to are pieces of shit but also that some of them can be redeemed. Thor: Ragnarok: Y'know, we don't see Hela die on screen. Films: 47 Repeats: 2 Made For TV: 1 Documentaries: 1 Straight to DVD: 1
  8. Both the Booster and Ivy arcs are basically just there to set up King's Heroes in Crisis mini later this year which makes it all the more annoying.
  9. Clive Barker is developing a Nightbreed series with SyFy.
  10. Suggestion: Maybe cover it in conjunction with Batman #45-47.
  11. ABC has officially picked up a Roseanne Spin-off "The Conners."
  12. It came from a game of Cards Against Humanity that aired on The Show a few years ago. Happy Birthday, Dan. May it be filled with whatever you like.
  13. Freaky Friday: The Jamie Lee Curtis version. Still love it. The Devil Wears Prada: I have some how went my entire gay life without watching and, since I had been using a couple of GIFs from the film lately on Twitter, I figured I should. It's really good. Meryl Streep definitely steals the show but Anne Hathaway does a pretty good job also. It does have some major problems (All of Anne's friends are terrible people and she's better off without them including the boyfriend is the big one) but still a fun movie. The September Issue: Mainly I watched it since Anna Wintour is the basis for the Miranda Priestly character in The Devil Wears Prada. It's a kind of interesting look at what goes into building the Vogue September Issue. That said, if you have no interest in fashion or publishing, it might be deathly boring. 14. Warner Brothers is releasing 1,000 minutes worth of new Looney Tunes cartoons that will air over 2019 over multiple platforms.
  15. The DC Universe streaming platform is supposed to launch in late August. It'll also include comics. Still no word on what will be available at launch.

    DC reboot

Since this is kind of the ubiquitous DC News thread, Geoff Johns has exited his position as president and Chief Creative Officer to start his own production company. Jim Lee is stepping into the CCO position. That said, Johns is essentially still involved with DC with his new stuff including still writing. This is after Diane Nelson exited last week.
  17. Ended up watching through all of Westworld over the span of a Week long vacation. I'm enjoying it. It's not a perfect show and there are only like two characters I care about at this point but it's still pretty good.
  18. Kill Bill Vol. 1: I was torn on watching this because of everything Uma went through during it's making but, I mean, its a good action movie. Scott Pilgrim vs The World: I needed something to watch after a long car ride and this is something that was good for unwinding. Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince: While it's probably one of the weakest in the series, when viewed as a take-off of Teenage Prep School Comedies, it is great as homage. The Lego Batman Movie: Will Arnett makes this thing so wonderful! The Incredibles: Wanted to watch it in prep for the sequel. Sooooo good! Films: 43 Repeats: 1 Made For TV: 1 Straight to DVD: 1
  19. I love the still and that cast is beyond wonderful. Can't freaking wait!

    The Music Thread

Y'all were crazy for sleeping on Carly Rae last year:
  21. I'm drunk right now but... I've felt this level of excitement before. Going into the first Transformers, I was kind of high on all of the bullshit. By the last one, I knew I was going to see the steaming sack, it was just a matter of when. At this point, I like the trailer but, until actual trailers come in, I can't let my own black, cynical heat, get excited.
