Guest Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 When I eventually take over the world and rule as its benevolent dictator, I will order the arrest of anyone that attempts to make another Linkin Park AMV. I don't even hate the band like most people do, but for the love of Chrono this is too much. Literally 50% of the AMVs I tried to watch on YouTube had "Crawling" or somesuch drivel in the background. These people need to be stopped. Quote
James D. Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 If you check the stats on AMV.org, you can see that there are more Linkin Park AMV's than any other band. It's insane. And "Crawling" is one of the shittiest songs ever. I LOVE Hybrid Theory, but that song is horrible. Quote
Kscriv Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 1. I agree 2. As an ammendment to your declaration, may I suggest we then hand out permits allowing Linken Park AMV's, it sucks because I'm sure under the mounds of crap there are a few good AMV's in there. Quote
James D. Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 As an addendum to the right honorable Mr. Scrivens' second point, I suggest we honor those few souls who make decent Linkin Park AMV's by giving them a gold star. There are some decent "In the End" videos out there, but I think that song probably has more AMV's made to it than any song ever written. Quote
Guest Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 All of Hybrid Theory, at the very least still needs to be outlawed. Let the few good ones already created still exist. Quote
Guest DCAUFan1051 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 I think the only linkin park song I can still tolerate is "A Place For My Head" that band got soooo over used. Quote
Guest DCAUFan1051 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Kind of like Nickelback... Nickelback may only use the same three chords or whatever and some of their songs sound similiar but at least they aren't reusing the same song over and over Unforgiven II and Unforgiven III gimmie a break  OH YEAH I WENT THERE! Quote
Guest Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 I have a sudden urge to link to this now. Quote
Guest DCAUFan1051 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 I have a sudden urge to link to this now. as I stated the songs may sound the same but the concept in lyrics are completely different. And admittedly I have not heard Unforgiven II in a while and never hearing Unforgiven III the only one I'll listen to is the original. Quote
Guest Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 So wait, you've NEVER heard Unforgiven III, but you're willing to bash it as being the exact same song? Granted, I hate Unforgiven III, but it sounds nothing like the previous two. Nickelback quite literally wrote the same song twice and sold it to people. Quote

There is a very big difference in the lyrics between how you remind me and someday. They are not the exact same song My basic point is that unlike metallica nickelback doesn't have to result in writing songs like Someday II and Photograph II I'll admit that they sound alike but are very different And while The Unforgiven is a great song Unforgiven II was ok Sorry to drag this out but I had to defend my favorite band this is all James's fault  Quote
Aaron Robinson Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 You’ve got to hand it to them. They know how to make the big bucks with minimal effort. Quote
Stavros Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 See, you don't get this when your favorite band is Skunk Anansie. Quote
slothian Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Or The Coral. That link putting the Nickelback songs together is incredible. I literally can't believe I didn't spot the similarities until now. Wow. Quote
Stavros Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 I was just trying to find that link again this week. If you mess with the balance on your sound you can actually turn the whole thing into one song that works quite well. Quote

Oh, and "Unforgiven III" is a fantastic song, and I will hear nothing to the contrary...DUBS. :fight: Back on the subject, another band whose AMV's I could do without is Fallout Boy. Quote
Guest DCAUFan1051 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Hey, I didn't bring Metallica into this. well James it was the only band I knew you liked so you attacked nickelback and I in turn attacked metallica in all honesty I'm reserving overall judgement on "Death Magnetic" I did like All Nightmare Long though Quote

James D. Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 The film, sure, I'd win easily. Street Fighter II V, however? I'd quit roughly 53 seconds in. Quote
Guest Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 I just thought of the worst thing ever. Street Fighter II V AMV set to Nickelback... Quote
