  1. Me? OK.. While in the same club he meets Foxglove and Hazel in, Sexton gets into a conversation with a girl with henna coloured hair wearing a long gown and long opera gloves. He tells her he's planning on killing himself and she relates a story about a girl from a little town who was sexually abused for years by her father (the police chief) and her uncle (the mayor). She tries to kill herself by cutting up her arms and fails, awaking with a new outlook on life. Played by: Emma Stone Mrs Robbins, the lady who's been looking after Didi since last week when the rest of her family was killed Played by: Whoopi Goldberg Another unnamed cast member, a guy from Xerxes Records who's there to listen to Foxglove's set. He's unimpressed but Sexton convinces him to sign her. Played by: Chris Rock Theo. The Eremite's apprentice, who is sent out to lead Didi and Sexton into a trap. He's successful but then takes the Ankh that his master wants and decides to sell it for money, figuring its got to be worth a bundle. The Eremite hits him so hard that Theo is not only knocked down, but then takes several hours to die. For this reason (and my loathing of the Twilight movies) he is played by: Taylor Lautner And finally. There is Death. Only seen as an arm or a hand or from behind. Certainly you hear her voice. Either in a mid-credits or end credits sequence. And if you can guess who that is from that photoshopped picture I found, you're a genius. I had to look it up.
  2. I was watching that in astonishment. He did all that himself? That. was Incredible...
  3. Revival Vol 1 - You're Among Friends (Issues 1-5): A variation on 'the dead come back to life' theme. In this case, the dead do get up and start walking around, but they are also in possession of all the faculties they had at the point of death and if damaged, they heal up again. Unless the damage is too severe, in which case they 'die' for good. It's all contained by the Federal Authorities to a town in rural Wisconsin. The sheriff assigns an officer to head the 'Revitalized Citizen Arbitration Team'; his elder daughter, Dana. But Dana soon finds herself trying to solve a murder; that of her younger sister, Martha. The trouble is, no one except Dana knows Martha was murdered and Martha doesn't remember who killed her. And she doesn't want Dana telling anyone, especially their overprotective father. Meanwhile, other things - older things - are out and about... It's an interesting take and an absorbing one. There are a lot of questions and no answers at present. I think I will add this to my pull list for a couple more issues.
  4. Why the hell aren't we getting these in the UK?!?!? I hope the Internet Fairy is up to the task...
  5. But what about Hawkeye? They spent all that time in Avengers setting up their partnership to just drop it?
  6. If they are going with the comic origin, it makes sense to have Natasha in the movie.
  7. Because they see Marvel making all sorts of money with their movies and animated shows, and want some of that money for themselves. And they've done Batman and Superman over and over, so they want to try something new, get other heroes into the public consciousness. But for some reason, where Marvel gets it right, DC and Warners don't seem to know what the hell they're doing.
  8. Saga Volume 1 - Chapters 1-4: This was recommended to me by Amazon. I checked on the leisurely comics thread and was told to give it a shot, so I picked up the first Trade with chapters 1-6. I was sold by the end of chapter 3. This one is going on my pull list.
  9. Update on Saga. I picked up the first Trade today and I'm four chapters in. Kenny is correct, its great. I'm putting it on my pull list.
  10. Because until I heard her speak with her real accent a few years ago, I had always thought she WAS American.
  11. I had replied to post #89, only to realise that I was the one who'd posted. So agreeing with it was redundant. But by that time I had already posted and I have no idea how to delete my own posts..
  12. My turn? Foxglove aka Evan Rachel Wood Hazel McNamara. Partner of Foxglove. aka Christine Barger
  13. Still coming up with someone for Donald Glover and Nathan Fillion to play. I think I can help with Donald Glover...
  14. Ignore this. Nothing to see. Move along.
  15. I am always surprised when I hear Nicola Bryant's real accent...
  16. Oh and Preston? I believe that your movie will be the second time CCH Pounder will have played Amanda Waller... Awesome casting..
  17. Right then. It's my turn again I believe: Really, I should have made him joint protagonist with Didi because its more his story than it is Didi's. It's all from his POV, more or less. Sexton Furnival: Starts the day wanting to kill himself... just because. As he puts it 'Live Dull, think Why bother and leave a note saying goodbye.' Meets Didi, a crazy, weirdly dressed teenager, who claims she's the human personification of Death, having her one day in a century to experience life. Despite himself, he gets dragged along behind. Meets all sorts of strange people, has some strange experiences and by the end, he's decided that life really is worth living, despite all the bad and dull parts. To be played by: Jimmy Bennett
  18. I've got all confused. What round are we on and who's turn is it next?
  19. Can anyone tell me if Saga is any good? I was browsing through Amazon 's suggestions for me and it brought it up. I can pick up the first TP pretty cheaply, but is it worth it?
  20. Everyone's picks are awesome. I also just realised something. Everyone is going these big tentpole movies with kickass casts.... and I'm doing what amounts to an indie art-house movie. How did that happen? Oh yeah. I was doing one of those too - with Catwoman. But then I switched.
  21. Superior Spiderman #1: First spider title I've read in... wow, 10-15 years? Longer? I was interested in the whole idea of what's going on with who's in the body and what that means, so I picked up the first issue. And its interested me enough to keep going for the next few issues. I doubt I'll continue when the current status quo changes back, but who knows.
  22. My turn. OK. Let's see... High Cost of Living doesn't really have actual antagonists as such, but here they are: Mad Hettie. Mad as a bag of spoons, bag lady, rumoured witch (which she denies) and born 1761. Really wants to find her heart and can't remember where she put it. Prepared to cut off someone's nose, but then gets all teary and sad. Played by: The Eremite. Mysterious. Blind. Believes Didi to be the human personification of Death and wants her Ankh in the worst way, thinking it will give him power. Fully prepared to kill - and does (eventually) - to get it. Played by: (Note: Rutger Hauer almost got this role, but The Eremite is a scenery chewer, and no one chews like a trained Shakespearean actor. David Tennant almost got it for the same reason.)
  23. So you-know-who isn't Spiderman?
