  1. Wow, that's some of the best TV computer animation I've seen, a vast improvement over TCW. And yes, the TIE fighter explosion was awesomely retro.
  2. So I'll just be waiting for the full revival announcement now....
  3. The movie's great but other than location it has no connection to the TV show. So no, you can definitely watch the show without the movie.
  4. But it all seriousness, this is my list: Sidney Lumet Coen Brothers (always, always) Nicholas Ray Rob Reiner Billy Wilder
  5. Coen Brothers Wes Anderson John Hughes Spike Jones Robert Zemeckis Cause when I'm on a desert island I just want to cuddle up in a nice cozy blanket by the fireplace.
  6. So I just watched the premiere of Fargo.... and it was glorious.
  7. First look at the new Batman Beyond short: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0HVPmRSD3c
  8. Not great. I liked seeing the classic Bruce Timm style and that last bit of dialogue which was taken directly from On Leather Wings. But other than that, not very engaging at all. Plus the actual quality of animation was on the same level as that Batman eating a hotdog video. A pretty big letdown considering how good the Superman short was last year.
  9. There hasn't been a single action or sci-fi movie in the last five years that I've had any real desire to see, but this is starting to win me over.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC3Mi9vOb_8 Some of those shots are so well thought out, it's unbelievable!
  10. American Hustle (2013) directed by David O. Russell Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) directed by the Coen brothers Sergeant York (1941) directed by Howard Hawks All quite good. Feature Films: 10 Documentaries: 2
  11. I just sent in my first email so I'll try not to repeat too much of what I said there. By the way, I had a lot to say and not a lot of time to write it so forgive me if there are errors and such in the email, I didn't have time to proofread. Anyway I'll just briefly tell you my thoughts on the pilot, I really enjoyed it. I have a few minor suggestions that I put in my email but by and large it was a fantastic start off. I actually recommended “He’s dead, Jim” and “I’m a doctor, not a” counts in my email as well as a couple others I'll be interested in hearing. The one last thing I'll bring up here is about your decision to read emails at the end. Maybe I'm wrong but wouldn't the incoming emails be in response to your comments on the episodes you discussed last time not the ones you'd be yet to discuss? I'm not opposed to you guys reading emails at the end, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
  12. Batman 89 may not be a great film but it is an important one, and one that left a major impact. Despite its flaws it's stuck with me more than any Marvel film.
  13. And it's not the only one. Superman (78), Batman (89), and The Dark Knight all have had their impact on cinema and deserve to be considered classics. No Marvel film has reached this status, fun entertainment sure, but not important films.
  14. Other than the first two Raimi Spidy's and possibly Favreau's Iron Man, there's not a Marvel film that I love. DC's output is definitely less consistent, but I'd argue that they reach highs that Marvel films, thus far, have not.
  15. So much product placement my eyes hurt! But seriously this looks exactly like any other bland action movie trailer, Transformers, G.I. Joe, and that first shot of the building's tower breaking is right from the Amazing Spider-Man trailer. Beat for beat this follows the exact action trailer formula: buildup, destruction, reveal, with a gag at the end. The fact that this trailer gives people any sort of indication that this movie will be good is utterly baffling to me. Shlock through and through.
  16. If they're going to adhere that closely to the original hand-drawn style, I'd prefer if they just used hand-drawn animation. All this does is suck out all the charm of the original style.
  17. So we won't have to wait until May to hear this episode right? That's just when the podcast will officially launch?
  18. Eh, maybe it's just me but I didn't think this was one of the better BotW. Sure it's fun to see them tackle some superhero flops but the comedy bits didn't work as well as they usually do and the entire episode seemed a little stretched out. But by and large it's definitely one of the best shows on the Internet.
  19. Well according to wikipedia The Golden Age ending in 1950 citing, All Star Comics becoming All-Star Western and a number of comic book cancellations. I finished cataloging all my comics about a week ago, it took me quite a long time. I found that my earliest comic was from the late 1960s so unfortunately no Golden Age comics. Anyway good luck!
  20. So it's official, Static Shock's Toyz in the Hood was written by an academy award winning winning writer.... Also gotta say, not one surprise all night.
