  1. I was pissed at freddie when he did a Daily Show interview about the first scooby movie for blatant stupidity/innaccuracy. He seems to come off as one of those people who pretends to know everything about everything and fakes it if he has to. but dammit, that is one entertaining movie, and he was great in the role give to him.

    PS3 news

well, alot of sony/xbox multiplatform action but Nintendo is just starting to get a grip on 3rd parties again. I know there have been times my Nintendo Whore loyalties have been tested by games that come out on everything else. Given I feel their first party games more than make up for it, and thus I'm still owned by nintendo.

are there sony "die-hards?" I know there are nintendo whores, I know there are microsoft zombies, and I know that there are people who hate either one of them for various reasons, but I've never really come across someone who struck me as a die-hard for sony.
  4. http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commen...omment-opinions Fun link I found on Game Girl
  5. Someone has to be reading this out there. I just got ish 24 (i guess they box-pulled it from someone since they were out of it the week it came out) and I love it as much as ever. I started reading it around ish nineteen and ended up going back and buying all the previous trades. I recommend this to everyone. It is a fresh superhero tale that doesn't read like a superhero tale. And it is by far the most well organized comic i've evah seen.
  6. If just one person leaves with two decidingly mediocre yet catchy songs stuck in their head, my job is done
  7. its all just leading up to the next Human Torch/H.e.r.b.i.e. fiasco ten years from now there will be one for us to look back at and leak a little more soul down our pantleg of hindsight asininity of it all
  8. I gotta say I side with steve based one... I was like eight when i fell in love with voltron. I'm not holier-than-thou enough to demand all things be catered to me when i go on a nostalgia kick. Letting it be kid accessible would be ideal, pass it on to a younger generation. And power rangers was a great movie for what it was. It nailed the demographic it was going for perfectly. The fights were fun, well paced, and innovative. I'm not signing the death sentence on Voltron though I sadly expect it to be "not for me"
  9. I love me my Moon Knight. I'm eagerly await Trade form of Ultimate Moon Knight now too. I had not heard about the project coming up with him. Do you know if it is going to be ongoing, seasonal (marvel has been doing this with a couple books lately, shehulk, runaways, ultimates), or mini
  10. getting a shop to box your stuff is the way to go, assuming you can go to the shop atleast once a month. Plus being in shop to pick up the box lets you see if anything else catches the eye. As far as price goes, I've noticed that most "real" comic shops give a discount of some kind off the rack, 10% or so. This is opposed to a book store with a comic rack type purchase. Marvel's TPB are nice. All my Ultimate Xmen and Spiderman are TPB because I haven't been able to get to shops regularly when these books started so it keeps me from missing out. Alot of Marvel's regularly released TPBs are pretty comparable pricewise to if you bought the ishes seperately. And like stated, DC doesn't really release regularly enough for me to pay much attention. Mainly though I would suggest finding a comic shop you like and getting a box of what you know you want and buying what you see you like. If you can get to a shop weekly, I would recommend the single ishes unless storing is an issue (which is a plus for TPBs, easier to handle) as well as there is less of a concern of "where's this story arc/mini series" New Comic Day Wednesday, I'm pumped for it

    Foster's

From the creator of Powerpuff Girls, comes Foster's home for Imaginary Friends. I know I think it is the best animated show capable of being watched on my television. Who else out there watches it. The voice acting is great. The jokes range greatly from child-slapstick, to pseudo-irony. comedic timing is spot-on, and yes, repetition can be funny. So far they have done a great job of not rehashing episodes, at least of what I've seen. Fave Three eps, Frankie My Dear: Mac, Bloo and others battle for the affection of Frankie. They continually have to go up against the increasingly manly opposition, hilarity ensues. My So Called Wife: Someone is looking to donate tons of money to a charity. Mistaken to be a couple, Coco and Herriman, must compete for the money on behalf of Foster's. But Bloo and Mac have their own charity to fight for, hilarity ensues. Mac Daddy: Mac has apparently created another Friend, making Bloo a big brother. It seems that no one is able to cope with the quirks of this new character, hilarity ensues. All three of these are pretty recent episodes so they are getting alot of airtime on Cartoon Network and WB. Who watches this show? What do you like? What don't you like? Did you take an elementary spanish class just to understand Eduardo?
  12. I voted New Horror though I was torn whether I considered my hope to be new horror or non-horror. The Hulk was one of the characters that actually came to mind for me. I'd love to see him do a dark horror twist on a non-horror character. Not strictly making it horror book but I felt New Horror better suited my feelings than Non-Horror since Non could include a much wider variety of things. Hulk, as I said, jumped to mind. As did Moon Knight, Captain America, and Iron Fist. Mainly, I do not want an action comic from him.
  13. I just started going through the episodes on DVD again. I'm sitting at about 3/4 through vol 2 (of 3) over the course of the past two weeks. I would absolutely love to be handy for research and opinionating myself all ovah this. off the top of my head I have a couple eps I would absolutely petition for the list
  14. I like a prefer the memory card. This way when Chas wants to come over to play Smash or I wanna play Bowsers level of Party at Rob's all I need to bring is the card. Xbox however, I can only finish my Jade Empire game on Achmed's. Same with Fable. Wavebirds are decent wireless controllers without sucking up battery but no rumble feature (if it did it would kill batteries). In a dream system I want that rumble especially if it has backwards compatibility to a system with rumble. The DVD I can buy into and is very nice but once you get into the Storage and connectivity I'm gonna start whining and tell you to buy a computer. It's a console, it's for console gaming, you don't need to story music from cd's, or videos, or whatever other nonsense. If you want that crap go DL an emulator and play on a laptop. I'll agree with the frontloading though I wouldn't be stacking things on top of my system because it is more likely to be ported from one place or another then other things I have.

    Exiles

I remember now, thanks for the recollection. I don't believe I read any of that story from you though
  16. I had a dialogue with a friend about this dream match-up and I was reminded of it this morning, so... Who wins: Leroy Brown v. Jim Walker rough profiles being Nickname LB- Bad, Bad JW- Big Hobby LB- Gambling, Dice JW- Pool, Hustling Prize Posessions LB- Fancy clothes, Diamond rings, Custom Continental, Eldorado, .32 Gun in his pocket for fun, Razor in his show JW- Two piece custom made pool cue Claim to Fame LB- Baddest man in the whole damned town, badder than ole King Kong, and meaner than a junkyard dog JW- You don't tug on Superman's cape, You don't spit into the wind, Youd don't pull the mask off the ole Lone Ranger, and you don't mess around with Jim Final Defeat LB- Jealous husband leaves him looking like a jigsaw puzzle with a couple of pieces gone JW- The only part that wasn't bloody was the soles of the big man's feet when he was cut in about a hundred places and shot in a couple more by Willie "Slim" McCoy, whom Jim had hustled Jim Croce would be spinning in his grave. Is he dead?
  17. God you hope they keep what going? I mean I could be wrong since I haven't been paying attention to the business aspect of JL but I have to admit I'd be mildly disappointed if this wasn't a bookend to the series. p.s. how awesome is the Phantasm cameo. btw, after much deliberation due to the greatness of Begins, still my favorite Batman movie.
  18. yeah, i noticed that too. I broke out my Batman TAS dvds just to make sure as well. It was a fantastic nod to what started it all.
  19. Highlander managed to boot very specific portions, if I may play devil's advocate, and it succeeds as decent. But likewise, I'm also not a fan of Superman. And while i'm a fan of Singer, this is a completely different type of film than he has succeeded with in the past. It could be made good but I think it has an equal chance of flailing within mediocrity.
  20. I'm looking forward to this like I looked forward to constantine. which means i'm not. But i'll go see it anyway. which is more than I can say about Elektra and Catwoman

Hey hey hey, let's be fair. Beak has a baseball bat. what storyline was issue 51 part off that could have easily kicked it. I just don't seem to recall a easy time around then that you don't have the ishes of.
  22. this is true. I am a successful marketing subject for House of M. I used to read Hulk regularly but then stopped for a while. House of M opens it up for a fresh start (both for the House of M story and once it returns to normal) and decided to pick it back up to see if it is as good as I remember.
  23. having played the GBA games this would be my absolute TOP game for DS if I cared about DS. It actually seems like they are finally finding ways to use the second screen well. so, unless I fold and get a DS (i won't) I will just continue to dread the Advance Wars game for GC that they renamed and altered the mechanics of. someone tell me to be optimistic
  24. so its a TV Movie and a TV series, or the movie is the pilot and does he mean comics Geoff Johns (I think it is G atleast) I think a series could be good. atleast as good as Witchblade or Flash was (though I really enjoyed Flash it just wasn't great Television so to speak) I feel you would really need to ignore the movies to make it work though. it is a basis and it will make the show recognizable but I just could not imagine a Blade show without the mentor figure.
  25. meh, saying Sue is underated has become cliche. It has been her gimmick for quite awhile that she is the most powerful of the group. What keeps her down is that she is not a superhero at heart. Given the right motivation (protective mother) she can go apeshizzle on people but just for the general GvsE battles or generic contests of skill, she doesn't have the internal inspiration. She has to draw it from elsewhere.
