  1. Lookie there! There is a professional. IIWY? is drawing together a bunch of cool artists to interact with. Pun intended.
  2. God! I want that! Do yourself a favor and just read one. They're both the same.
  3. Before I developed a deep , unabiding hatred for trhe man's contempt for a decent story, I wanted A:tI to be good. I was actually thinking to myself "I'm going to be buying 3 Avengers titles when last year I only read 3 Marvel titles!" I was bored and put off by poor characterization of some of my favorite Marvel characters (Justice, Pym and War Machine). Then came She-Hulk #21...
  4. That was a little harsh don't you think?
  5. It matters not, Deaux! When you see the end of my video where I turn around, I'll show you the real Thing that Should not Be!
  6. I have woven the great conspiracy, Kellen. You see, only one Canadian can win the best music video award. And that Canadian is me. Your Metallica videos are strong, this is true. With Hard to be Faithful out of the way, they do not stand a chance against the home video of yours truly dancing to Feist's "1234" sans underwear with Blue from Blue's Clues painted on my ass. Kiss the award goodbye, sunshine!

    Green Arrow's villains?

Deadshot? Brick, Constantine Drakon, Deathstroke and Onomatopoeia (yes) all work. Someone met a DC editor perhaps?
  8. I'm going to pitch a book to Marvel called the Wolverine Variety show. Just Wolverine doing stupid shit for laughs. That way, Marvel will greenlight it because all you need is a slightly different take on the character and you've got a new book. Or maybe a MAX book that's the same as all the other books but he smokes his cigars in that one...
  9. Shit! I hit null vote by accident. I voted neither. I refuse to put money in a series that has been restarted time and time again but hasn't reached issue four in over a decade. I also refuse to support another X book featuring Wolverine in a lead role. Most overused character of all-time.
  10. Maybe it's Untold Tales of Batman but it is a three issue reboot of his origin.
  11. Yeah, when you put up thew He-Man one I was like "meh" but this...THIS is something else. Do you have The Untold Legend of Batman (post crisis Byrne reboot that came as a novel MMP sized GN with accompanying tape? That defined my childhood.
  12. My school's library, now nicely stocked in GN and tpbs thanks to yours truly has named Jeff Smith its featured author for January. Bone books all around baby!

    Y-The Last Man

The moment with the lighter a few issues back might be the best comic book moment of 2007 for me.

    Y-The Last Man

I'm all caught up...one more issue to go? Holy Fuck!
  15. In fact, I think it has a better chance of being good if Craven isn't involved (remember Music of the Heart? Cursed?). He "Produced" the Hills Have Eyes remake which means that he did the original. The remake was far superior in my mind. Shocker sucked so much it couldn't possibly be worse. I actually quite like People Under the Stairs and I can't really see it being made with the same tone today. It will probably be made into more of a survivalist horror film than the original which would make it an entirely different film. Could be interesting.
  16. it's actually DC Universe: The Stories Of Alan Moore, the old printing is called Across The Universe. Thanks, I have the first printing...
  17. Not yet, it's in my pull box back home. I won't be getting the following issues after that. Maybe the trade if you're out of your mind with this one but with the evidence provided, I doubt it.
  18. Well... There's my pick for best comic review in the 2008 Mainpage Awards.
  19. I don't like the principle. I haven't read it and I don't read SM and don't ever really intend to, unless a creative team worth its salt gets on it. The fact that this was seen as the only way to revitalize the character is absolutely beyond me. One of, if not the, biggest unneeded copout in the history of comics. Ridiculous. He was a goofy teenager for ages and continues to be in USM. Why does it have to go back to that? He's in his twenties or thirties by now in continuity so now he's a role model by being a young and carefree teenager again? Makes no sense. Life is difficult and one's actions have consequences. That is the entire basis behind the character. Wiping away something that seems difficult if counterintuitive and against everything the character has been for forty years. Other than that, I think it's great!
  20. First Roadkill Review of '08. I'm skeptical.
  21. I just finished reading the unedited proof of my buddy, and forum member, Keith Latch's novel Cemetery Things. And it's tight and fast-paced. I think I'll need to slow down and un-intensify (new word?) a little bit so I'm finally getting to Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman (a present from 2 Christmases ago...). It's kind of a fantasy/comedy and an unofficial sequel to American Gods. I'm not quite sure what to make of it at this point yet. It's not anywhere near as funny as Good Omens.
  22. I did A LOT of crazy Batman shit that year. Must be a mixture of the booze and fried food...
  23. Oh, I HATE theaters. Hate hate hate theaters. Hate them. Teenagers, drunk girls, and frat boys - hear me now. We are NOT in your living room. Shut up. Sit down. Get your candy and your soda beforehand. Don't yell at the screen; they can't hear you. Don't ask your buddy to pause it. Either you're joking, in which case shut up, or you're not, and you're kind of retarded. Get. Off. Your phone. It tickles me no end that this is your third time watching this movie. Please stop telling your buddy what's about to happen. This doesn't even take into the experiece of paying $11 for a ticket and then buying a small popcorn and soda, and then realizing that somewhere a mistake was made, because now you have no money. Aargh. :grumble: I was at a concert in Glasgow and the guy in front of me held his cell phone up in front of him filming the entire fucking thing. Bright screen in my eye in dark hall? Not good. I told him to put it away several times. I slapped it out of his hand and it skid into the mosh pit. I punched him and then he ran off to get his phone...never saw him again. I like to think he was trampled to death. You can get away with that kind of thing in Glasgow.
