  1. It's still the 16th on the West Side......
  2. Seriously, I love the Nolan Batman movies as much as the next person but to me the worst aspect of them is the "realistic angle", I think it seriously robs them creatively of doing some really cool things with the visuals, and characters that they can't if everything has to be real world all the time. I wish they would understand that "realism" should come from the characters and not if a gadget could really exist in real life. Unfourtanetly it looks like the studios and the filmmakers are learning all the wrong lessons from those films just like comic creators learned all the wrong lessons from DKR and Watchmen. See, Batman's universe is one of the few that actually lends itself to realism and I don't think, thus far, it has harmed the Nolan interpretation in any way. Alright, they can't do Clayface - big deal. The Crow, on the other hand, deals with someone who supposedly avenges his murder from beyond the grave, so I struggle to think of how realistic you could be with that. They could do the angle in which the Crow isn't really a dead guy, but someone so drugged out that he doesn't feel pain, sort of how the comic did it. Granted, they won't do that, but it's an option. That's the only reason why I added in the word "supposedly" - I really liked that theory when I first heard Mike voice it on Episode #200. But I agree with you in that it's unlikely, and with suavestar in that The Crow's been done so many times that if they don't play it that way then a remake's pretty redundant. Right I'm getting off my soapbox on this.

  4. I think my point is that I'm not after a fresh take of The Crow. I could get behind a fresh take of, say, The Mask because the source material is pretty dark but the film was a(n awesome) comedy film, so I'd be interested in seeing how it could be played as a darker film. It might be the word "realistic" I'm getting hung up upon with regards to a remake of The Crow.
  5. That's probably a shoo-in for March, given the timing of the movie release.
  6. Could it finally be time for the long-awaited Project Runway episode?!?
  7. Joking aside with pointless reboots, I've just read the article in question on SuperheroHype and it's quite simply a terrible business idea. As has been said, I have the 1994 version and were I not the site's CBM correspondant, there isn't any real onus on me to watch it. But this section of the article really doesn't inspire:
  8. I hear Back to the Future's in desparate need of a remake....
  9. It means nothing for Batman 3. Both franchises belong to Warner Bros and quite clearly Batman's a higher priority, so the Terminator franchise will be made to fit around that of Batman.

    Episode 68

Seconded, re: Margot Kidder looking amazing in the 70s - there was a thread on here a few months ago calling her ugly, if memory serves, so sod that nonsense.
  11. My brother studies in Northampton so I'll ask him if he can hear howling at night.
  12. Thankfully my brother doesn't venture on here.....
  13. Star Wars (IV: A New Hope) James as Luke Skywalker Mike as Han Solo Jenny as Princess Leia Organa Dan as Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi Dubs as Grand Moff Tarkin Des as Darth Vader Me as C-3PO Adham as R2-D2 DRQ as Chewbacca
  14. Never seen it, but always flattered by foreigner status! On the one hand I get shot, on the other hand......can't remember, it's been ages since I saw this. The former works fine! They ate me. A motherfucking shark ate me!!! (points for the reference). I approve! This one was really well cast in general. Can't say I've seen it. That's just wrong.
  15. Ah awesome, I didn't know this was an actual practice! Although I'm pretty sure the corpse in question was dead before the parade started! First of all, there's no swear words in this post, which in internet terms means that this is a thoroughly polite post! And the a cappella stuff isn't going to be a regular feature, it's just the mischievous influence of a brother and a mad friend teaming up. I'm sure as hell not getting Adham to sing TMWTGG when we next record!! Heh, that's awesome that Wings were beaten to the top spot by themselves!!! And Wizzard are an awesome band who I wish I knew more about musically rather than what their wikipedia entry says. They're most famous over here for their festive hit "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday", which is my favourite xmas song by far. "See My Baby Jive" is a great song in its own right, although it sounds VERY similar to the aforementioned Christmas track. The frontman, Roy Wood, was an original member of Electronic Light Orchestra (or ELO), who had some classic 70s hits in their own right. Bored?!? I practically salivate for feedback!! If you ever want such trivia read out on the show itself, send it off to the show's email address. Thanks for getting in contact!!
  16. It doesn't help that the plot is identical to every other film that the Nostalgia Critic reviews, seemingly. Now granted, I know of the source material and have seen random episodes of Dragonball, Z and GT, but nothing about that trailer looks original or interesting.
  17. The only gripe I have with Blade II, from memory, is that Blade looked TOO good at times. I'm thinking mainly of how CGI his meeting with the vampire ninjas were, and how he knew from the start that everyone was in on the plan to get him. That might well be why Snipes actually sued Goyer for, amongst other things, giving too much screen time over to Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds. Still, the Blade series does go 2-1-3 in terms of quality, much like the X-Men and Spider-Man franchises it helped inspire onto celluloid. More Blade films? I agree with Goyer that franchises getting rebooted within 5 years of each other can be woefully confusing (I'm looking at you, Norton-Hulk) and despite the fact that he's a bit of an arse, Snipes was damn well-cast in that role. Obviously he can't do anything right now, but I'd be more in favour of a long-awaited 4-quel than a reboot/requel. I think Blade is one film series that could pull it off, despite the fact that bigger franchises have failed in doing that.
  18. The artwork is on the mainpage, which is accessible via the forums by clicking the Earth-2.net box in the top left hand corner, or alternatively by typing in the site's full address. EDIT: If you mean/meant previous banners, I don't think they get archived anywhere. Unless Mike still has them on his computer, I wouldn't know, I'm afraid. Thanks for posting!!! Adham & I always love getting feedback.
  19. For someone who hates Andy Zaltzman, that above sentence..... Pained as I am to say it, this episode was a LOT of fun to record. I wouldn't bank on my brother showing up much in the future (certainly if I have my way about the running of FYEO) but he's theoretically around when me & Adham record Episode #9 so you never know. Still, 3 hours is hopefully as long as it gets. I HATE the editing process and I've no idea how Mike manages 2/3 per week.
  20. Normally I'd disagree with this statement, as WB have a track record of mis-using their comic book properties, but given how well the film did at the box office, they'd be mad not to leave things in Nolan's hands.
  21. Happy Birthday, sir! Episode 42 of Dread Media remains one of my favourites!
