  1. My favourite has to be Terrible Ronald Version 2!
  2. Has anyone clicked on the "why so serious" link recently?
  3. Christ almighty, that looks good!!!!
  4. I'm sorry, I got too excited for a possible teaser On topic though, TDK's first teaser is apparently being shown with The Simpson's Movie, which is around now.
  5. The video and audio quality isn't the best, but.... Teaser Trailer The Joker's laugh at the end is pretty creepy.
  6. On a ten point scale, I'm pretty happy with Spidey 3 being a 7. It should have been an 8 or a 9 at least, but it wasn't. But it was a better film than Supes Returns/X3/Ghost Rider and gave a slightly better comic experience (IMO) than the Turtles films and Blade (if only because it rigidly followed the 90s action film bracket). If I was going to re-evaluate my marks again I *might* rate it a 6.5, but this would reflect that the film was actually BAD, rather than majorly disappointing, which is my take on the film. Films like Batman & Robin, Swamp Thing I & II, Howard The Duck and half of that RottenTomatoes List will end up in the bottom five and deservedly so. As will the original Fantastic Four (*hint hint!!!*).
  7. Loving the banner, Mike! Thanks for the formatting. Honestly, I'm not expecting much feedback for this as it's really just paraphrasing my podcast contributions and ordering them into a top 10. Even so, if you disagree with anything, I'm ready to argue a point!
  8. I can offer a supposed counterpoint to the issue over Batman having no idea that Hatter was behind his constructed reality. In that Hatter was in a recent episode and dealt with mind control. Now, it could have been ANYONE with access to mind control devices (like Hugo Strange, even if he hadn't appeared yet) but of all the people on Bruce's list of suspects, you'd expect the Hatter to be up there, if not #1 perhaps. Anyway, another very good episode. Gotta love Robin's Reckoning.
  9. I'm no fan of Superman Returns, but this could be an improvement. If you ignore the child. Which you can't, sadly.
  10. I agree with you - technically, there is no difference between what I class as CBMs and Manga other than the culture behind the comics. It's just because of the perceived difference because one's from the west and one's from the east that I end up thinking that way. I'm definitely writing something on this now!! Well, not *now*. But soon!
  11. I should clarify that I didn't regard some of them as "Comic Book Movies" as the phrase is known today. I knew of the basis of Men in Black, The Addams Family, Tales from The Crypt and Mystery Men. The manga titles are something I'd class differently - the reason why I have a different segment to Kellen/James. The rest I hold my hands up to. Even so, I think we can all agree this list is a bit suspect.
  12. I wasn't aware that the following films counted as CBMs: Virus, Bulletproof Monk, Appleseed, Tales from The Crypt (with Dennis Miller), The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green, Art School Confidential, Azumi, Timecop, Uzumaki, The Addams Family, The Princess Blade, Creepshow, Heavy Metal, Ichi the Killer, Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, Barbarella, Addams Family Values, Akira, Over the Hedge, Ghost in the Shell, Oldboy, Metropolis and both Men in Black films. Am amazed that FF is at 79 (below Supergirl), Blade Trinity's at 76, Ghost Rider's at 72, (one below Superman III and two behind Howard the Duck), TMNT at 67 ("the plot is non-existent and the dialogue lacks the irony and goofy wit of the earlier TMNT movies." - fuck off). All these are behind Richie Rich at 65, Dennis the Menace at 64, and Barb Wire at 63..... :ph<_<r: ...moving on. The Shadow, Tank Girl, The Phantom and Casper are all higher up as well, when they shouldn't be. Constantine is apparently better than Batman Forever (although I guess that one's borderline debatable). Blade is at 50 whilst ANNIE is at 49.... ...and Josie & The Pussycats is in the top 50 at 48. Wow. Mystery Men beat out legitimate films like Blade 2 at 37, the maligned Spider-Man 3 is at 35 whilst the praised 300 is at 34 - both underneath The Rocketeer at 33. Hulk's at 32, Swamp Thing's at 30, Batman's at 27, Flash Gordon's at 25, Batman Returns and V for Vendetta are in the low 20s whilst OVER THE HEDGE is at 20. Remind me to pick up that comic.... Superman Returns (17) is supposedly better than both The Crow (18) and Superman II (19). Hellboy (13) is supposedly better than Sin City (15) and Men in Black (7) is better than Batman Begins (8) and Superman (9). X2, which I believe to be the best CBM yet made is #5, beaten by Spider-Man at #4 (Very good but not better), Ghost World at #3 (No way), American Splendor at #2 (WTF is that?!?!?), and Spider-Man 2 as the best CBM ever. Hmmm.....not convinced, despite how great Spider-man 2 is. I feel a column coming on.....
  13. Very true. As I don't read comics, I can't really answer the question for women drawn on paper. Comic movies on the other hand.... Rogue Elektra Rogue Batgirl Rogue Catwoman Gwen Stacy And Rogue (and due to the ending of X3, this is the perfect time window to get together with her!!! )
  14. Cool episode - seems to draw a line under the Panel episodes. Not to say they aren't interesting, or that they don't offer up some diversity for The Show, but they're not quite my cup of tea. Will look forward to more usual format!
  15. Words can't express how hurt I am about this whole situation. In a way, I'm glad I have my Hard Knocks DVD because there'd be no way that I'd find one now. And for everything he did to tarnish his legacy in his demise, I still think his career is worth remembering. If only to realise why feelings over the last couple of days have been so strong and violent. But still, I'm horrified at how this has turned out.
  16. I'm just completely numb at this point. Firstly because my favourite wrestler is dead, alongside his wife and son. Secondly, it's being implied that he skipped Vengeance so that he could murder both of them before killing himself. As I say, completely numb.
  17. Damn you all! Besides Carpenter's Halloween theme, Final Countdown has the bitchingest synth line in music history I tells you! Europe rocks! Only because I live there!!! Sorry, it's just that this song gets used at so many cheesy disco nights at university, I can't appreciate this song as anything more than a reminder of tacky music nights that students/hen parties enjoy.
  18. I was REALLY interested in this episode. The idea behind it is great and it's good to hear two comic readers (one Marvel and one DC) analyse a huge series like Countdown. I was slightly surprised by the extent of the criticism given that it's helmed by Paul Dini. Then again, when you're pulling off a major DC-Universe story arc with some skewed continuity, and when it's so early on in the series, its understandable. Oh and I fall into the *blame* camp of using 'The Final Countdown' for this review!
  19. Spoiler!!! Not of the plot, although a villain does get revealed.
  20. Disney to stop making crappy sequels If I can find it on the Oratory, I'm going to re-read James's column about incredibly pointless Disney sequels. I love 'Angry James' columns!!!!
  21. I'm honestly disgusted by this, mainly for the point raised by ragernok. This is the the first time a game has been banned in the UK since 1997 (which was overturned on appeal). Surely if it is a MATURE title, it should not be in the hands of someone under 18 anyway. It isn't the fault of the game company (Rockstar) but whoever gets a hold of the game when they aren't old enough. Granted, I could say "Goldeneye was bought for me before I was 15 (the game's rating) and I haven't shot up the neighbourhood" but the fault of mature games reaching the immature is *enitrely* the fault of the retail staff that sells it and the consumer that wants it, either for themselves or their offspring.
  22. Despite not being someone who reads comics, I listened to this out of curiosity and found it to be pretty informative. Well, the bits I could hear!!! You can hear Mike give an inward chuckle at something 55 minutes in but you can't tell why!!! Still, a nice change of scene from the usual.
  23. There's a rumour on Superherohype that Jackie Earle Haley has been cast as Rorschach.
  24. I'm in the midst of preparing an all F4 Comic Reel-lief (for the modern movies - can't find the old version), just as soon as I can steel myself up to re-watching the first one. And buy tickets to the new one. Even so, don't let me stop you doing a review Dubs. If anything, it feels weird when I cover a movie that hasn't been mentioned on the show (Ghost Rider being the most recent example).
  25. Given where you live, Kellen, I'm guessing that you actually asked for a Log Cabin rather than a trailer!!!
