So they've turned much loved cartoon characters and made them futuristic superheroes. Is that really the only way to compete for cartoon ratings?
  2. Ryu v Ken Link v Batman Donkey Kong v The Hulk Elektra v Harley Quinn Ghostbusters v Beetlejuice
  3. Who was Toby McGuire before Spider-Man? Who was Hugh Jackman before X-Men? Actually, Toby was quite acclaimed before Spider Man... including oscar talk. So that one falls through. Word. Pleasantville's one of my favourite movies and he got good reviews for Cider House Rules/Wonder Boys too. The mere fact that FF's released after Batman Begins means it's going to suffer (if people judge by trailers, that is). I'll watch it because I mark for Ioan Gruffudd, but I'm not exactly optimistic.
  4. ...and had to have his contract bought out, yes. Your turn, Yoda.
  5. OK, let's try another then. (The answer was Kenneth Branagh, but he lost out because Milos Foreman wanted US actors playing the main roles) Why were there complications in having Tommy Lee Jones play Two Face in Batman Forever?
  6. Who was originally going to play Mozart in 'Amadeus' before Tom Hulce was given the role?
  7. Thank God, a Blues Brothers question! The answer's Spielberg.
  8. Whilst I very well could be substituting the wrong guy : Baskerville and Watson
  9. At a guess, Henry Baskerville and Moriarty
  10. Cowbell. The Rapture. Nuff said
  11. I love Hugh Laurie, but I can't honestly see him playing an American newspaper editor. But then, I can't see Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane either.....
  12. Not to mention X2. One hell of a coincidence....
  13. From the little I've covered on slavery on the American Studies part of my course, I'm well aware that the Civil War was not fought primarily over the "ideal" of slavery and it's abolition. I don't feel qualified to pass judgment on it yet as we've barely touched on that side of the course, but the North/South divide seemed to have a lot more to it than slavery (I mean, Thomas Jefferson spoke against slavery but owned some himself).
  14. Batman Begins. If I knew anything about Sin City, I'd be more excited about it.
  15. As an Englishman, it would be biased of me to say that this is typical eccentricity from those skirt-wearing jocks. Still, you guys should read up about haggis....
  16. In Bond films, the actor who played CIA agent Felix Leiter for the last time in 'License to Kill' had only played him once before. In which film was that?
  17. What's said above - and it would have to end with him being torched. In the sense of "...and that's how it started"
  18. Who wants to see a poster? From Darkhorizons.com
  19. Yeah, it's a comedy as well. Like Ghostbusters is a Fantasy & Sci-fi as well on IMDB. I haven't used it for Yoda's question. Thus I don't know the answer!
  20. Actor and co-writer! Correct
  21. If there was a God, he'd see that Storm strike down that teenage bitch dead with a well-placed thunderbolt. That said, if it's a Halle Berry-played Storm, I couldn't care less who dies.
