  1. Only a couple of times and that was months ago.
  2. Clayface? Yes, although from memory, there's a subtle difference between him and Sandman. That said, is Sandman pushing the willing suspension of disbelief a bit too far? The Green Goblin was explained by being futuristic military technology; fine. Doc Ock had developed psycho-kinetic arms which attached to his spine and tragically became melded onto his skeleton. Despite having to believe four mechanical arms could overwhelm a scientific brain, it wasn't beyond possibility. But a man whose sand-formed arms can morph into various shapes is surely a bit hard to believably carry off on film, isn't it?
  3. I tried compiling something a week ago but found it trickier than I thought. I can have a list done by Sunday tho', if you'd like.
  4. I don't read comics and I'm pumped for it. Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut? Interesting, although I'd have thought the part lends itself more to a bodybuilder type.
  5. This time it's classic British chiller The Wicker Man. Only name attached is Nicholas Cage. On a scale of 1-10, how angry does this make people?
  6. I'm damn interested actually. You could probably work out the games themselves via process of elimination, but god knows what these guys would rank where.
  7. Oh GOD, yes. Some of these things make my eyes bleed. I mean, I love Earthbound for what it is, but better than Super Mario World or the Legend of Zelda? In no way, shape or form. In the overall scheme of things, #44 for Smash Brothers isn't too bad, but fucking Conker's Bad Fur Day in front of it? And only a few places down from the vastly superior SMB3, Mario 64, Windwaker and GTA: VC? Ugh.
  8. Thoughts: Good to see Advance Wars at #62. No way is it better than the original Zelda, but still a classic puzzler. Link's Awakening should be higher than #54, and I'm tempted to say Mario World should be a bit higher too, although not as much. I'll be pissed off if Halo tops this thing, because if the IGN folk are as retarded as I remember, it could well happen.
  9. Super Mario Brothers. Any of them, really. One underrated NES classic is Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers. Seriously, playing that with my brother on co-operative missions was too much fun.
  10. Anna Paquin! :OMG: Well, I'm seeing this movie.
  11. I think it's a lot of things. He's the lord of the world and has a presence in every episode, even if he doesn't appear. He's got a good balance between being sinister and humourous, without looking incompetent or retaining the same morons who always fail to dispose of the hero. Coupled with the fact he's powerful and knows how to exploit Jack's good nature, Aku ranks right up there in terms of cartoon villains.

    Damn Sky One!

Some of the cuts we get over here are beyond retarded. I think we got the cut version of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (called Batman of the Future over here ) and the original TMNT was renamed as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles because of the violent connotations associated with the word ninja. Sigh.
  13. BUMP: Technically not screenshots, but I didn't want to make a new thread. For those who haven't seen it, New Zelda trailer
  14. That story seriously rules - being at uni (and in the UK - I dunno if they've been shown over here yet) I haven't caught any of series 3, but it sounds like this story basically sets it up once the Hawkgirl business is ended. Nice mix of story and humour (The Flash destroying part of Wayne Manor was hilarious). It's these cartoon series' that make me a quasi-comic fan.
  15. Pay off my parents' debts, then my own, get myself a house and a car, and save the rest.
  16. Already? Wow. Happy Anniversary to Earth-2.
  17. How the HELL do you make Pac-man a live-action film? I consider myself having a broad imagination, but I'm really stumped on this one. Oh and this Uwe Boll, who's meant to be making half of these films, made Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead. I've seen neither, but both are meant to suck really, really badly.
  18. Anna Paquin. Oh please God, Anna Paquin. Sounds a little optimistic about F4, but then people only seem to be pessimistic about the film because the cast is young (and that Alba can't act). Need to see Hulk & Punisher before commenting on sequels, although I'm not going to shed a tear over there being no Daredevil sequel in the near future. Oh, and Spiderman 3? IMDB will only say that Maguire, Dunst & Franco are down to appear.
  19. This one is classic Some very funny stuff in here. Granted, you need something eyecatching to have people buy the comics, but some of the covers are just laughable.

    Master Yoda

My mate turned 20 on Sunday, my mum's 50 on Thursday. Hope that puts things in perspective, Yoda! Happy Birthday.

    Loonatics

So they've turned much loved cartoon characters and made them futuristic superheroes. Is that really the only way to compete for cartoon ratings?
  22. Ryu v Ken Link v Batman Donkey Kong v The Hulk Elektra v Harley Quinn Ghostbusters v Beetlejuice
  23. Who was Toby McGuire before Spider-Man? Who was Hugh Jackman before X-Men? Actually, Toby was quite acclaimed before Spider Man... including oscar talk. So that one falls through. Word. Pleasantville's one of my favourite movies and he got good reviews for Cider House Rules/Wonder Boys too. The mere fact that FF's released after Batman Begins means it's going to suffer (if people judge by trailers, that is). I'll watch it because I mark for Ioan Gruffudd, but I'm not exactly optimistic.
  24. ...and had to have his contract bought out, yes. Your turn, Yoda.
  25. OK, let's try another then. (The answer was Kenneth Branagh, but he lost out because Milos Foreman wanted US actors playing the main roles) Why were there complications in having Tommy Lee Jones play Two Face in Batman Forever?
