  1. I think Minority Report already showed us all that touch screens are the future. Now it's just a matter of getting from point A to point B.
  2. Can't come soon enough. Some of that sounds a little iffy, but I'll give Snyder the benefit of the doubt.
  3. Man, I loved this week's IIWY? Dubs, once again I wish I could write with your brevity and color. I feel totally at home as a part of this team. Any combination of the usual suspects is usually good for some serious quality.

    MLB

They are Devils no more. I don't really care too much for MLB but it's been fun to idly watch the Rays this year. It was extra nice that nobody in Tampa would come out to see them, as I got great seats for a song earlier in the season and had a hell of a time at the ballpark. Now that the team's successful, naturally, tickets are pretty tough to come by. I'm still thinking about scalping a pair if the team looks competent in the postseason.
  6. They'll be finding excuses to re-release the Matrix long after we're all dead and gone.

    Tom Strong

Top Ten was far and away the best ABC book if you ask me, but Tom Strong was solid, too. I really enjoyed the digest-style format, but thought it sometimes got too cutesy and Saturday morning for its own good. Could never get too heavily into Promethea, and while the League was good fun, I didn't develop the attachment for it that I did with Top Ten.
  8. I remember watching this and wondering why we were spending so much time watching Roddy Piper work construction at the outset.
  9. I'm fairly sure the housekeeper heard the words, and then fed them to the media.
  10. Um Jammer Lammy was way better than Parappa.

    We got quoted~!

Earth-2.net: Helping Iron Man reach the coveted fifth from the bottom position since 2008. In all seriousness, that's way cool.
  12. Also, I've been to San Francisco and I don't know that I'd describe its streets as slopping, per se. Sloping, sure, but probably not slopping. Once again Dubs shows me up this week. Nice work, sir, and I'm glad to hear Punisher continues to bring the awesome. I was also worried when Ennis left the book, but the first issue of this arc caught my interest and I'm glad the second walks that same path. Marvel has brought in three notorious crime fiction writers to handle the three arcs immediately following Ennis's exit, and if Hurwitz's work is any indication, they've chosen wisely.

I'm on a Last.FM page too! You should be able to guess my username from that page. Feel free to add me.
  14. The MacBook Touch mock-up is just based off of speculation at this point. Apple's filed a lot of patents regarding a tablet PC, but they keep everything so close to the vest that it's sometimes tough to separate fact from fiction. Here's the full-sized version. That said, don't buy a MacBook right now. The line's in need of a refresh, and Apple has advised its resellers to stock up on back inventory now, cause there ain't many more of the current models coming down the production line.
  15. I wasn't that impressed by this week's announcements, really. Including an accelerometer in the new Nanos is cute, I guess, although it doesn't make as much sense there as it does in the iPhone and iPod Touch. Also, what's up with decreasing the capacity in the top-of-the-line Classics? Aren't you supposed to progress in the opposite direction? Much more interested in the rumored MacBook announcements next month. If they include this bad boy in the lineup, I'm first in line to buy one...
  16. That scene is actually from the third chapter, James. I missed the second issue myself.
  17. The iPod Touch has built-in 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, so if you're near a free hotspot you can go online with no charge. As for the great debate, I've yet to find MP3 software as intuitive and useful as iTunes. If you're here to talk smack about the iTunes Store, fair enough... I disagree about the selection and think 99c is a very fair price for a track, but fair enough... but there's nothing on the market that can even touch the app's music management functionality. Is it a memory hog? Yeah, particularly on PC where it launches three different RAM-devouring helper processes every time you boot up, whether you're using iTunes or not. IMO, though, that's an acceptable trade-off for what you get in return, and I'd dare you to tell me you don't overlook a few memory leaks on some of your apps because you straight-up enjoy using them. Not to mention the freaking Wi-Fi Music Store. OK, you can get any album you want in the world on Torrent. Sure, you'll probably have to wait for seeds, you'll need to deal with shitty rips or varying bitrate, and if you're an OCD MFer like I am, you'll need to do some major league formatting to the ID3s so you don't have something like "R\Pd by 1337 h4x0r" in the Notes of every song in your collection. I guess that's a trade-off you're willing to accept for the price difference. That doesn't help you if you're on the road, hear a song on the radio and want to add it to your collection. I used to be hardcore into torrenting my music, but lately I've taken the plunge and started purchasing more and more of it through iTunes. The convenience, speed and quality make it completely worth $10 an album.
  18. I cheer the return of the three-headed review monster! Great work as always, Dan and Dubs.
  19. Yeah, that's some sobering stuff. Tanner seemed to be one of the genuine good guys, but while 37 is way too young to go, he packed more than a lifetime's worth of experiences into his short time here. I wish I would live half as fulfilling a life as he did.
  20. I won't mourn the end of MA, since it was far and away the weaker of the two Avengers ongoings in my eyes, but I'm not crazy about the new team that's going to spring up in its place. I'll give it a shot, I guess...
  21. It's been years, but I've seen this one too. Quality, quality early '90s sci-fi / horror trash.
  22. I had more dirty disc errors with my original Xbox than I ever experienced with my PS2...
