  1. It saddens me that I haven't had time to try this yet. Still working on Lost Odyssey, and I haven't even started Fable II yet. Maybe around Christmas...
  2. I finally read this about six months ago and have trouble imagining how it would translate to a film, too.

    The Music Thread

That entire album is filled to the brim with goodness. "Squeeze Me Macaroni" may be the most profane love song ever written about food. That puts it in some pretty elite company, I know.
  4. ... but you get a chrome disc drawer!
  5. I've been going through similar revelations, Yoda. I recently used the Amazon Marketplace to list a fair number of DVDs and Xbox / PS2 / 360 games that I knew I'd never play again. I don't know that I'll ever have the balls to get rid of the whole kit n' kaboodle (what if I suddenly get a hankering to play Wall Street Kid?!?!) but I think it's definitely a good idea to reduce.
  6. I stand mine upright, it's been that way for about six months, and none of my discs were scratched up. The only time I've ever seen a 360 scratch up a disc was when my friend had it upright in the middle of his floor and accidentally knocked it over while a game was spinning.
  7. I can't think of a slower "motion" than paneled sequential artwork.
  8. My second box is headed back to Microsoft after its DVD drive pussed out on me. Hoorayyyy Fortunately, I've got a buddy with a spare 360. He's loaning it until mine is back.
  9. That's an awful lot of conclusions to draw from a teaser trailer and a few scarce early screening reports.

    MLB

Just bought tickets for game 2!! Woooot!
  11. Frankly, that's the one element that would have thrown non-hardcores for a loop and may have turned them off to the film. It could work without.

    MLB

I'm just about the definition of a casual fan and I was feeling the goosebumps there. Incredible game. WOOOOoooooo
  13. Well, since I've bought just about every single one of them... -Judas Priest: Screaming for Vengeance (way, way, way more fun than I thought it would be) -Red Hot Chili Peppers: Blood Sugar Sex Magik (still haven't played all of it) -Rush: Moving Pictures (god yes) -The Cars: Self Titled (fantastic, didn't think much of it before it was released on RB but now I adore it) -The Pixies: Doolittle (the wife is head over heels for it, myself, I actually think it's redundant and overrated) -Motley Crue: Dr. Feelgood (only bought two tracks from this one) ...and the aforementioned Megadeth, which I also didn't buy. They need to hurry up with the Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jane's Addiction. Next question! Same subject matter! Name the first game released by Harmonix for a home console.

  15. I've got an Azzarello-signed poster from the launch of 100 Bullets framed and hanging above my bed and a Bob Burden-autographed Flaming Carrot original hanging in the living room. In school, I had a Vertigo poster and a Maxx poster hung on bare wall, but those both received the wifey veto when we bought the condo.
  16. Pretty much this and the Oratory for me, as well. Although I'm in search of another...
  17. Volume 4 is a collection of annual style one-shots, elnino, which is why Dillon wasn't the artist. Those stories are all right, but they're not essential to the rest of the series (with the possible exception of the Saint of Killers arc). When I'm re-reading Preacher, which I've done maybe a dozen times now, it's not unlike me to skip that TPB altogether. Rest assured, it picks up a huge head of steam almost immediately. Once you reach the desert, the hits just don't stop coming.
  18. Some nice improvements, but nothing that's making me eager to trade in my current MBP for the squeaky new models. And no matte finish option? ... why?
  19. Lost Odyssey. Lord, the amount of dialog and cinematics in this game make MGS2 look like a walk in the park. I DON'T WANT TO READ ANY MORE. LET ME FIGHT SOMETHING.
  20. Sorry for the cut and paste from the big O... A few buddies and I took part in a local 48-hour film festival this past weekend, and today the organizers have posted all of the entries to YouTube. They'll be holding an awards ceremony at the end of the month, and one of the categories is "YouTube Favorite," which I guess goes to the most viewed, most rated or highest rated video online. They've been pretty vague. So, anyway, if you've got a spare moment or two and feel like helping ol' Q out, or if you're just morbidly curious and want to see my film debut (in dual roles, no less) hit the link below and vote it up. I'd really appreciate it. For the uninformed, a 48 hour film festival means everything involved with the production had to be completed within a single two-day period. Concept, writing, casting, shooting, editing, etc... all in two days. We were given a genre (vampire movie) an action (character carrying something too heavy for him/her) and a line ("I do nice things for two reasons and two reasons only: money or sex. The decision is usually based on gender.") to keep us honest, and everything else was left to our imagination. If it were a 49-hour film festival, the scene between 3:30 and 3:50 would've been axed. It was an extra clip that shouldn't have been there but we were so strapped for time, we didn't even get a chance to screen it before we had to rush off to turn it in.

    Yogi Bear

For the sake of argument, I adore Anchorman and Talladega Nights. Anchorman is one of my all-time favorites. Also, Zoolander. On topic:
  22. Sorry, but these hoodies completely and utterly school the Batman ones.
  23. Working my way through Prey. Even though it's only two years old, it really shows its age, graphically. Looks like an original Xbox game with shinier textures, and can be maddening (it loves to drop you in a big wide-open room and assume you'll see the little blue object hidden away somewhere), but it's all right.
