I was hoping there was more than the stuff you mentioned, although I didn't hear anything about Fear Itself repercussions. Any specifics?

So, um, did Marvel have anything happen at Comic Con? Because I must've missed it.

So that at least cuts down the number of books I'll need to read per month. So I guess that's good for ME. For DC, not so much.

Well, at least "Justice League" LOOKS pretty. I guess that's something. The others? Ugh.

It may have been the air conditioning, but I now have chills. Well done, fellas. Well done.

I'm trying to be reasonable about this and keep an open mind and not fly off the handle every time they say something I don't like and wait to see for myself what happens, but there is nothing - literally NOTHING - that has been said or shown about this entire thing that doesn't make it sound like a clusterfuck of epic proportions. I don't pretend to be a big DC reader, but nothing I've heard or seen has given me even the slightest inclination to pick anything up come September.
Right. I don't MEAN to sound horribly pessimistic and negative, but literally every single thing I've heard has sounded awful.

Justice League is set in the past (at least for its first arc), presumably when Batman was still an urban legend.
Hadn't read that. I guess that's better. But I just feel like DC is saying "What? You've read us your whole life? Why the fuck did you do that? That stuff never happened. Dumbass."

See, I hate it with one page. The fact that after all the history they have had together, Hal doesn't believe Batman exists? That pisses me off. Their history is one that I know and, this may be a bad concept to DC, but it's a history I am comfortable with.

Sucks. He really was a fantastic artist.

I like that casting a lot. And Punch somehow looks like Deena, if that makes sense.

Is all that stuff confirmed? Because if so, then I'm totally with him on that. Those changes are fucking ridiculous. The DC age started five fucking years ago? That's ludicrous.

Anyone see this? Moved last night from the Associated Press:
Marvel's Spider-Man getting new, 2nd series
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Marvel web slinger Spider-Man is getting a second series this year with an emphasis on the iconic character's job as a hero.
Marvel Comics said Monday that the new series, "Avenging Spider-Man," will focus more on what writer Zeb Wells called "the big summer action movie" aspect of Peter Parker as opposed to more personal look found in the pages of the twice-monthly "Amazing Spider-Man" written by Dan Slott.
Wells is writing the series, which debuts in November, and Joe Madureira is illustrating the title.
In a conference call with reporters, Wells said the new series focuses more on Spider-Man's exploits and encounters with villains and heroes now that he's part of Marvel's Avengers team. Wells, Madureira and editor Stephen Wacker promised more adventure and less soap opera.
I'm confused.

Flashpoint
in DC
Flashpoint IS bombing. And yet they're going forward with everything. They've planned a total reboot of their line- it's too late to turn back now.

That's likely because the stories haven't been published yet. People bitched in 86 when the post-Crisis reboot happened, but the entire DCU benefitted from it.
(Though I'm with you on the Titans costumes. Eeesh.)
Don't take this the wrong way, but you're really Dan DiDio, aren't you?

I don't know what to think about this: New horror/fantasy titles

Francis Manapul, the current artist on The Flash, will be writing and drawing the book. The other name that's listed, Brian Buccellato, is the colorist.
To better answer your question, Manapul's recent work includes Adventure Comics, Superboy, and Legion of Super-Heroes.
Yeah, I am very surprised that Manapul is writing. He's one of my favorite artists. Weird to see the colorist listed up top like that.
