  1. Well here's some new news. Now its been confirmed that Tyler Mane is the only returning character, as he will once again wear the mask. I guess that earlier report about Scott Taylor Compton returining was a big rumor(although her and Malcolm McDowell signed on for 3 films). Here is the official news http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/14830
  2. how many songs does a 16GB hold? I have over 6,000 songs
  3. CASTING CALL for H2 http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/14791 From the description it will show everything through Laurie's eyes...ughh Does that mean its part 1 from a different angle(like Silent Night, Deadly Night 2)if they do that I will officially lose all respect for Rob Zombie
  4. Come on, he was the comic relief. If he were in the remake, he can be the expendable sidekick.
  5. How about a podcast with reviews of every comic book based film ever made(except the ones already done the other podcast)
  6. I feel like the original film is underrated. It was a pretty gritty film and you have to admit, Stallone was good as Judge Dredd. Its not the best comic book adaptation, but isn't the worse either. Hopefully this will usher in a new franchise. It seems very much like dark rooted characters(like Blade, Hellboy and Batman)in the comic book world have been the big craze in cinema lately.
  7. I give kudos to Warner Brothers, not only did they get commentaries on all the Batman films(except the newer ones), but the Superman films too(including the Richard Donner Cut of Superman 2). I may do a review on both sets and individual discs, but I want to get The Dark Knight first. So far, here are my scores Batman(1989) 2 Disc Special Edition Even with all the plotholes(that James and Mike have shown me)we still get a good performance by all who are in the film. The Special Features are great, top notch. Commentary by Tim Burton; informative, but a tad slow and sadly Burton allows several minutes of dead air. It would have been great to hear Michael Keaton, who was supposed to join Burton at one point. On the Set with Bob Kane, a small featurette shot in 1989 during production of the film about how Kane first conceived the idea of Batman. Legends of the Dark Knight: History of Batman; very informative and fun documentary, very much in the style of many of the Marvel documentaries that accompany their DVD's. Tons of interviews and snipets, rewatchable over and over again. Shadows of the Bat: The Cinematic Saga of The Dark Knight Parts 1-3 Shown in three parts in the conception, rewrites and eventual marketing of Batman in 1989(including a deleted scene). The feature continues through the other DVD's. Beyond Batman Documenteries; several short featurettes that you can watch together(as a documentary)or seperately. Probably my least favorite of the features, but adds more info on the technical aspects of the film. The Heroes and Villains Profile Galleries; Small interviews about the characters portrayed in the film. Batman: The Complete Robin Storyboard Sequence; fun scene to watch in storyboard form. Starring the DCAU voices Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, also with Jason Hillhouse as Robin. Music videos by Prince I'm not a huge Prince fan, but the music he performed in the film was catchy, Trust wasn't made into a video, but these were Partyman; curiously this is the cut down 5 minute version, as opposed to the 7+ minute version, but since its Prince its amazing that we got one let alone three of his videos on here(I heard he's hard to work wth) Scandalous; my least favorite as its the slowest song of the three Batdance; no fucking sense this video really, nothing more to say 7 out of 10 Batman Returns(1992) 2 Discs Special Edition This film has several problems, while its not the worse of the series, its still a downer. I am a Burton fan. This film also introduced me to the great Christopher Walken Special Features Commentary by Tim Burton; once again it is informative, but like all his commentaries he leaves gaps and tends to sound like he doesn't want to be there. The Bat, The Cat and The Penguin; you know I remember this little featurette when I was younger and boy is it fun to see it on here. Shadows of the Bat: The Cinematic Saga of the Dark Knight part 4; continuing on from the first 3 parts, we get 30 minutes of great information on the making of the film, the problems and the casting choices, etc. Beyond Batman Documentary; same as for part 1 with the culled together set of featurettes or as one documentary. Great information for those who look for the technical aspects on the film. The Heroes and Villains Profile Galleries; same as part one, this time dealing with the characters in Batman Returns Siouxsie and the Banshees music video Face to Face; this version of the song features scenes from the film; I do enjoy this song, as it has a very gothic tone to the song and does amplify the relationship between Batman/Bruce Wayne and Catwoman/Selena Kyle. The original version of the video is not on here though. 5 out of 10 Batman Forever(1995) 2 Disc Special Edition In my opinion better than Returns, while it does lose the darkness that the first two had it still manages to capture your attention. The performances are a bit over the top though. Special Features Commentary by Joel Schumacher; great commentary, Schumacher sounds very enthused with giving us fans this information bad and good. Somewhat better than Burton's commentary, even if the films aren't. Deleted Scenes, wow the darkness was here at one point, but the studio felt that it was too dark and wanted a brighter Batman, well at least the scenes were shot. There was rumors that Schumacher wanted to splice these scenes back into the film, but apparently they didn't go with the idea. Oh well. Riddle Me This; Why is Batman Forever? Small featurette being hosted by Chris O'Donnell about how the film was brought together. Just like with the Returns featurette it is fun to watch and yes I can remember watching it when I was younger. Shadows of the Bat: Cinematic Saga of the Dark Knight part 5; Here we are again, another 30 minute featurette on how they got the ball rolling on a third film. Plus a shocker....Burton had more ideas and wanted to continue...WB said he should stay on, but as a Producer. Now while Returns wasn't the best sequel, it could have gotten better instead of worse and never would've gotten to Batman & Robin the way it did. Beyond Batman; same as before, nothing more The Heroes and villains Profile galleries; great once again Seal music video "Kiss By A Rose" great music video, showing the love between Chase Meridian and Batman/Bruce Wayne. Sad however, U2's Music video "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me isn't on here. 6 out of 10 Batman & Robin (1997) 2 Disc Special Edition Well if you can view this as an updated camp version of the 60's show its pretty good, but never should have been in the series continuity. Special Features Commentary by Joel Schmacher; wow, the commentary here actually makes watching the film fun, lol Shadow of the Bat: The Cinematic Saga of the Dark Knight part 6; the final part of this epic documentary doesn't hide the fact that the film was a disaster. Deleted Scene; although I heard there was more, we get one deleted scene, with mention of Metropolis(could this mean that Batman Vs Superman was being considered at that point?) Beyond Batman; once again we get insight of the technical apects of Batman & Robin The Heroes and Villains Profile Galleries; this is actually a good piece to have on this DVD. Smashing Pumpkins music video "The End is the Beginning is the End" a remix version of what will eventually end up on the Watchmen film. Great song, the video is a bit eh R Kelly music video "Gotham City" nice little song, too bad the remix version of the video wasn't included Jewel music video "Foolish Games" nice song, probably one of the few songs I actually like from her(I'm not into Country) Bone Thugs N Harmony music video "Look into My Eyes" I love this song, BTIH are one of my favorite old school rap groups. 7 out of 10
  8. I loved it, it made me regret not being into comics as a kid
  9. I love my Batman set and Superman set. I've listened to all the commentaries on both sets 3 times and watched the documentaries more than that. It does give great insight and while Burton's commentaries are slow its informative
  10. We should all give a huge shoutout to Andrea Romano who was the voice casting director. Except for Superman: Doomsday she always did a great job at finding the best voices for the job.
  11. Umm, don't test Mike and James, remember they reviewed the 2nd Roxxy Rocket episode, before the first one because it aired first.
  12. The 1994 film is getting a Special Edition, now what about Mortal Kombat dammit http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/street-fighter.html
  13. Hey everyone, great idea for the forums. Michael Ironsideas Darkseid.. What better guy to voice one of Superman's greatest villains of all time. His voice is strong and harsh and chilling at times. Great voice acting here. He isn't too shy either to stay in the comic book world as he played General Sam Lane in Smallville. Corey Burton as Brainiac.. Come on, if you're talking about great voices in the DCAU, this voice has to be on your top list. Always sounding menacing, cold and of course computer like this is a villain to never forget. He also voice Red Tornado on the new Batman series "The Brave and the Bold." Ron Perlman as Clayface... I just love his voice for this character, no particular reason. Ron Perlman plays great bad guys(Blade 2 also). As well as good good guy(Hellboy 1 and 2) David Warner as Ra's Al Ghoul... Possibly one of Batman's greatest adversary and ally. David Warner manages to bring to life this character in a way that not every voice actor can. Another bit of trivia; he played Jor-El in Season 1 of Lois and Clark and of course the scientist that developed the Ooze in TMNT 2. Kevin Conroy as Batman/Bruce Wayne.... Taking a cue from Bud Coyler's portrayal of Superman in the 40's, Conroy develops the dual personality of Batman and Bruce Wayne and gives them different voices. This is the best portrayal of Batman through voice acting I have heard. Although, Jeremy Sisto did a great job in Justice League: New Frontier. Arleen Sorkin as Harley Quinn... Well what better voice can you get to stand side by side with Mark Hamill as The Joker. Here you have it, Arleen Sorkin has done a great job and tends to steal the show even from The Joker. Mark Hamill as The Joker.... As a huge Joker fan, I'm definitely partial to this voice acting. Even as Mark Hamill has played similar live action role with The Trickster in The Flash TV Series(and reprised it as a voice in JLU)he does an amazing job. Tim Daly/George Newbern as Superman/Clark Kent/Bizarro.. Well the voice acting is done really well and the transition between voice actors is sudden, but it works. George Newbern would continue in the non-DCAU cartoon The Batman voicing Superman. Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor... OMG, what can I say this is a great actor who is also a great voice actor. This voice portrayal has become so etched in the minds of viewers he was the only choice to voice Luthor in The Batman as well. Just great. I'll have more soon
  14. Here's the teaser artwork http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/14681
  15. No not Highlander, please the original film worked because of how gritty and low cost it looked. They want to do the same with Toxic Avenger and Evil Dead. Those films all worked well as a low budget, why? Because they concentrated on story, instead of visual effects or CGI or any of that shit. Besides can you really see anyone else playing Connor McLoud? You also had Clancy Brown(Lex Luthor in the DCAU)as a great bad guy and Sean Connery, for such a low budgeted film you had all that talent + Queen music filling up the soundtrack. Not too mention the underrated sequel, brought back Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and added Virginia Madsen(Candyman)and Michael Ironside(Darkseid in the DCAU). I haven't even seen parts 3-5, even though they do have Lambert in them, he's a background character.
  16. I agree that the original still excists, but the idea that they are wasting there time, resources and money on a film that will most likely bomb is a little upsetting. Oh and this will have Eric Draven as a character again, so its more of a remake than the sequels were.
  17. Yes, we are getting a reboot, please no http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/14658 I just did a youtube review on this film and said NO REMAKE!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8M429teQVo
  18. Yes, even without seeing part 4, we will get part 5 in 2011. McG will be directing again and Christian Bale is attached(what does that mean for Batman 3?)until part 6 Here's the link: http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/14659
  19. Can't wait, thanks for the Christmas gifts guys
  20. Blade was an awesome film, it set the characters, the attitude of Blade and Whistler and had great action/fight sequences. Just awesome. Not to mention the acting ability of Stephen Dorff was amazing. Blade II, the special effects were great and of course Ron Perlman was in the film, how can it not be good. Great follow-up. Oh and Scuds ass kicking was great too. Blade: Trinity had an interesting premise, as well as an old idea, but what went wrong here was there was too many things going on. What needed to be done was to have a third film without the Nightstalkers and than create a TV series introducing them. The film was just incoherent. The series I haven't seen yet, but as far as I know the pilot was good.
  21. Well it seems that David Goyer(writer of the Blade trilogy and co-writer of Batman Begins and Dark Knight)has rethought his decision to never again do a vampire film. http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=8837
  22. AOL TV actually has all the episodes for free viewing and user Rabbitdog26 has all the Static Shock and Batman Beyond episodes on youtube
  23. Harlequinade, she sings to create a diversion for Batman and Robin to enter the club.
