  1. You're right about Pacino as of now in his life. But you have to remember that for his age he's not gonna try to do something other than what people already know him fondly as. Pacino's best performance was in both Godfather 2 and Scarface, because the character in Godfather 2 was so well developed from the first film and in Scarface his character was just out there. I liked him in Devil's Advocate and thought that was his best performance in that period of his life. The character of Nick Fury from my understanding is a military type character who seems to have no feeling, but is still a good guy. Samuel L Jackson's performances in Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction are that same type unfeeling. Even when his character in Pulp Fiction decides to get out of the business he's in, he plays it straight forward the same way. You are right that many of his roles he doesn't seem to act differently, but that's because of the role he chooses. Its like he's been type cast not by a role, but by an attitude. Same goes with Julian McMahon(Cole in Charmed, Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four films). Morgan Freeman was great in Shawshank Redemption, his character in the film was meant to be a man who has learn the error of his ways, but is never given a chance, because of the time period he was in. Kiss the Girls and the Nolan Batman films are also great performances. Along Came the Spider he plays the character the same way as in Kiss the Girls, but its a prequel to that film. I got caught up with Denzel for two films alone....Philadelphia and John Q. Those two performances right there showed me he had a talent that could not go unnoticed. Kind of like Charles S Dutton in The Crying Game and even Vantage Point great performances in both. Denzel in both those films acted off two great actors(Tom Hanks in Philadelphia and James Woods in John Q) and it heightened his role greatly.
  2. Because it is so completely necessary, Hollywood Reporter... er, reports that Neil Moritz (producer of such classics as Stealth and Prom Night) is looking to put together a remake of Paul Verhoeven's Total Recall, which starred our governor, Michael Ironside, and a lady with three boobs. If this actually goes forward, I THINK this will be the first remake (not counting foreign to American translations like Let The Right One In) of a movie I saw during its initial run in theaters. Am I old or is the "It's time for a remake!" window just growing smaller? Read on for a few more details, and look for a remake of Paul Blart: Mall Cop to get announced any minute. Per Hollywood Reporter: Total RecallNeal H. Moritz and his Original Films banner are in final negotiations to develop and produce for Columbia a contemporary version of "Total Recall," the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi action movie directed by Paul Verhoeven. The original, based on the Philip K. Dick story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale," follows a man haunted by a recurring dream of journeying to Mars who buys a literal dream vacation from a company called Rekall Inc., which sells implanted memories. The man comes to believe he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony, where he fights to overthrow a despotic ruler controlling the production of air. The movie explores one of Dick's favorite topics, reality vs. delusion, as audiences never knew whether or not the story was a dream. Either way, the movie grossed a very real $261 million worldwide. Carolco was behind the original movie, which was distributed by TriStar. Dimension picked up the rights for a reported $3.15 million with the aim of developing a sequel. Columbia secured the rights from Miramax, which retained them when Harvey and Bob Weinstein left to start their own company. Calling Dick's story "prescient," Moritz said he hoped the advancements in technology and state-of-the-art visual effects can help tell the "Recall" story in a fresh way. How about he's not sure if what he's experiencing is a remake or not? That would be meta-cool.
  3. Why don't you like Samuel L Jackson and Morgan Freeman Dread? Morgan Freeman alone has made some of the best films I've seen. Samuel L Jackson is also a great actor. I love Denzel's movies he's another gifted actor. I don't think your a racist, but please explain why you wouldn't like 2 or 3 of the best African American actors there are.
  4. True, but I thought the Friday the 13th remake was good, not the best, but good. Rob Zombie has already said he isn't remaking Rick Rosenthal's Halloween 2. So this really isn't a remake.
  5. Here's the first image from the Halloween 2 set. This scene shows Laurie's in the ER after her ordeal in Halloween http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/15416
  6. This is great news, Samuel L Jackson will be awesome in all these films. I still haven't seen the David Hasslhoff film Nick Fury (or is it S.H.I.E.L.D) I heard it supposed to be a good enough film for a low budget TV Movie. I used to love the FOX Spider-Man series that featured him in several episodes. Who would like to see Michael Clarke Duncan reprise his Kingpin role in a future Spider-Man film? I would, he was great in the role, even better than John Rhys-Davies(from Trial of the Incredible Hulk).
  7. Beverly Hills 90210 was a great series that did tackle controversial stuff at the time(sometimes stuff that is still controversial). The new show is getting better, but does seem like nothing more than an updated copy of the original series. Now they want to resurrect Melrose Place, wasn't the Dad on the new 90210 a character in that show? How will that work, since MP is a spin-off. I hope they know what there doing.
  8. I already posted this in the Smallville forum.
  9. Season 9 is official Season 9 Confirmation: The Official Press Release! The CW has issued an official press release confirming the ninth season pick-up for Smallville . You can find it below: THE CW ANNOUNCES EARLY PICKUPS OF SERIES “Gossip Girl,” “One Tree Hill,” “90210,” “America’s Next Top Model,” “Smallville” and “Supernatural” To Return Next Season February 24, 2009 (Burbank, California) ─ The CW announced today the early pickups of six series, including five of the network’s signature dramas and the reality hit AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, which will all return in Fall 2009. “As we continue to build The CW Network as a destination for young women, these six shows have clearly contributed to strengthening our schedule and our brand identity,” said Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW. “By securing these signature hits for next season, we’re furthering our commitment to deliver high-quality, original programming to our viewers, advertisers and affiliates.” Among the series receiving early pickups for next season are The CW’s Monday tandem of sophomore sensation GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL, which combined to lift The CW to become the fall’s #1 network on Monday with women 18-34. Both GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL have scored double-digit gains compared to their previous seasons. Freshman hit 90210 has improved the network’s Tuesday night by double-digit increases in key demos. Wednesday anchor AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, which consistently wins its time period with young women, will also be back with superstar Tyra Banks and new groups of aspiring models for cycles 13 and 14. Also renewed were the network’s established Thursday team of SMALLVILLE, in its ninth season, and SUPERNATURAL, which after posting ratings growth this season, will enter its fifth season next year.
  10. Scream 5 and 6.... Yes it seems that Kevin Williamson has not only been hired to pen the 4th film, but create a whole new trilogy. Here's the link for more info http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/article/has-k...-scream-trilogy
  11. The problem I have with the Oscars is that instead of having everyday people who spend 8 to 10 dollars they DON'T have to go see these films and nominate and choose a winner. They get a panel of people who get paid to watch the movies and are TRAINED to look for certain things in films to vote on it. Now me personally I know what to look for in a critic's POV, but when I watch a film I see it the way it was meant to be seen, but a fan's POV.
  12. His Name Was Jason is like 6 hours long. Version I saw was 90 minutes. It comes in two discs and with features included it's at least twice as long. The special features are all pretty much extended versions of the interviews on the documentary. I'm talking about the documentary itself is shorter than the Halloween documentary. The Halloween documentary still managed to include extended interviews also while still having a longer run time of the main feature.
  13. I watched the first episode with the thoughts that it will get better. We are only 2 episodes in, so I'm not going to give up yet. Joss Whedon's stuff are things you have to get in too. I didn't like Buffy at first, because it was so different from the movie, but I gave it another chance in Season 2 and got hooked. Eliza Dushku hasn't been given any chances in a while, because she has been type cast as Faith. I loved Tru Calling, but it was canceled too soon, there was a chance to bring the series back, but the Sci-Fi network didn't do shit to help it. Than another series she did didn't even get picked up. I'm going give this show a chance.
  14. It could have been better. I mean it covers 12 films, but the Halloween documentary was longer only covering 8 films. I did still enjoy it for what it was, especially since you know Paramount would have never put out the money to have it made. I have the two Making of books Making Friday the 13th by David Grove and Crystal Lake Memories by Peter Bracke, so this is a good companion piece. The Angry Video Game Nerd was the edited version of the original aired version(on time and music) and sadly they didn't include the conclusion part(which had him ripping on the NOES NES game) or the ottakes(you can watch the outtakes on cinemassacre.com). You are right about Felissa Rose, all they do it put what film she was in, but unless you've seen the film you have no idea what it is. Daniel Ferrands who wrote Halloween 6(the original filmed version) directed the documentary and help with the Peter Bracke book's release.
  15. Check out this trailer featuring the return of dum dum dum Tori Spelling, lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLuHVf58VoM...player_embedded It looks pretty good.
  16. Here's a suggested title for the sequel http://www.superherohype.com/news/supermannews.php?id=8107
  17. Be careful, both John Carpenter and Richard Donner approved the scripts for Rob Zombie's Halloween and Superman Returns..
  18. *BIG BUMP* It is now in the works. Read on for the skinny of what's going on http://www.fangoria.com/features/21-fearfu...ead-reborn.html
  19. Toyman (IMO) was awesome. He was a sick in the head lunatic genius, who is still at large, lol. Nobody will ever be as creepy as the DCAU Toyman, but he comes close. Season 8 has been okay, not the best, but you have missed a few good episodes.
  20. Who can ever forget that, that was awesome. He appeared as two different characters in that show. The second time had Mrs Jefferson return.
  21. Hey I enjoyed that episode, but it wasn't serious like the DCAU and Smallville versions. That's what I meant. I love The Jeffersons, that's one of my favorite shows I grew up watching and it was very nice to see them together again.
  22. I agree with the KITT scene, that was great. The episode acting wise was good, I did enjoy it and will watch it again when the DVD comes, I'm just tired of the same concept being used more than once and them adding some sort of twist to their version. It's pointless, you are stealing an idea. But it was still a watchable episode. I just hope this new reboot of a reboot, which was a reboot itself to a show that was out years ago, keep the high energy up of the other two reboots, lol. Confused yet.
  23. No its not Rosenbaum, he said they couldn't come up with an agreement for him to appear. It also wasn't his voice. That's a big insult to him and us that they use some nameless actor to do it. He didn't look anything like him, not even from the back(when it was first revealed he was alive). They should have just left us with the question of whether Lex was alive or not, instead of sending a double out to trick us. We all know he's not dead, so what's gonna happened? Are they gonna do what Superboy did and say that Lex had plastic surgery to answer why he looks different? Its funny how the best episode surrounding Lana and actually making her watchable was her last. Oliver Queen was bad ass in this episode and we finally got a Toyman as creepy and scary as the DCAU Toyman, not like Sherman Helmsley's version, lol
  24. Ughh, I'm watching the episode that aired last night. Right now, I have no opinion on the actual episode, but come on with the fucking storyline. Its been in almost every TV Show I have enjoyed, I'm tired of it. Writers think with your brains. Other shows I can think of right now that had the same story: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys Angel Smallville Birds of Prey
  25. Here's a spoof on how his sister may react if it happened to her, lol
