  1. I'm sorry, but I'm a fan os Saw. I don't know why, I am very tired of todays horror flicks, there is no sense to be made with 95% of them, but I guess I like the twist ending. I watched Dead Silence and if you didn't know the director and writer were involved with Saw also, the twist ending is very Saw. I don't mind the review of B:TMOTP being review in between. It just helps me put my mind in place of the continuity of where this happens in the series. I love Wikipedia, it is a huge joke, that not everything on there is truth or fact, because everyone contributes, chances are if there isn't a truth in something, someone will erase it or edit it. I completely agree that B:TAS episode guide, review and pages for each episodes needs to be on there. I'm with you on this fight. In terms of not using any Batman villains in the final season of JLU. It is an extremely bad descision on WB and DC part. Anymore exposure of characters being used in newly released material will get more users. I am from the DCAU era of cartoons, so if you want me to be dedicated to watch The Batman, bring in characters I may like. Same thing with Batman Begins, using Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghoul in the JLU, would bring back interest in the characters and more so in Batman Begins. They are also the best of any DC villains Now's here my review: Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm, this got to be the best Animated feature length Batman story ever made. Great animation, perfect acting, dialogue, everything. The music is fantastic, if I were to base Danny Elfman's ability as a composer soley on this, he would be the best. It's an excellent blend of the Batman 1989 movie(the very beginning), TAS theme and a revamped Operatic movie score. Excellent. Nothing really to flaw here. I have to agree that this should have been rated PG-13, it's even more adult in nature than Superman: Doomsday and far more dark. PG-13 was first used for Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom, so by this time, PG-13 did exists. What I liked most about this are the glimpses into the origins or semi-origins of Batman and The Joker, it was fun to see that in the DCAU Joker was still a somewhat mysterious and it seems like he's more like a psychotic Batman, whereas he doesn't talk and strikes terror just by intimidation. A tool that Batman uses. I love the first adventure Bruce has before he turns into Batman it was great, he tried to be a vigilante cop and laughed at, which is what causes him to rethink his gimmick. I also love the expression Alfred gives Batman when he first sees him, he looks incredibly scared and weerly of his master's thinking. I wish we could have seen more Phantasm in the series, but the animators were so good at keeping this character in as little of the film as possible and giving a creepy mystique about her. When I saw the JLU episode "Epilogue" it was a fan excitement to see the character again, even for a minute. The Joker in this is the most effective of all his appearances. I agree that a parent taking their child or children to see this expecting an Adam West type Batman was probably surprised st this, but at the same time, the series during its FOX run was heavily promoted with 2 TV spots almost every hour, so chances that a parent wouldn't know what kind of Batman they were taking their kids to see are slim. I loved Dana Delany's performance in this, very effective and I wouldn't be surprised if Bruce Timm and Paul Dini remembered her when casting for Superman:TAS for Lois Lane. Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamil and Efrem Zimbalist are always great, but here they top quality voice acting. It's a dicotic relation between Bruce and Andrea, they are so much alike, but so different. They both are avenging the death of their parents, but while Bruce keeps himself from crossing a line, Andrea isn't so cautious. It's sad cause you can see that if she gave Bruce the chance, he can pulls her from the brink, but she doesn't. It is clear in the JLU episode that Andrea has regained her sanity and learned from her encounter, but still sad. I must say, how Andrea could know that the guy who killed her father became the Joker and how Batman can't seem to figure out who Joker really is. First you have to realise that she knew Joker before he became The Joker, so the mannerism, the clothes are all the same. The only difference is amount of talking he does and he has no makeup. She has probably been following him for years while building her mind and body to face him. The nickname explanation could also work, but he doesn't seem to have the psychosis yet of The Joker, he doesn't talk and is always serious looking. I believe that what happened ws that Andrea left The Joker at Arkham Asylum, the next time we see him is in episode entitles "Trial" where Batman is put on trial by the inmates of Arkham with the New DA. I have no idea or theories of her teleporting. This movie is my favorite of all the DCAU movies, Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker and World's Finest are my second and third respectively. Batman and Robin: Subzero was such a disappointment compared to this and I am a huge DCAU Mr Freeze episodes. I would have to give this 10 out of 10, yes the best score.
  2. Here I am after a long absence(I was out of town and away from a computer)I'm back. First off, I have to agree that the only reason to buy the newest installment of Super Smash Bros is for the historic Mario Vs Sonic stuff. I could never get into that series, and it always bothered me, because I am a huge Mario fan. But the Kart series and Smash Bros series are the two I can never get into. I'll buy your Nintendo Wii from you, I so want to get Super Mario Galaxy and Paper Mario games. I have a PS3, simply for the Blu-Ray feature and in the future new Resident Evil and Grand Theft Auto games. Now for my reviews, these will be shorter than usual, sorry. His Silicon Soul, I actually enjoyed this episode. Yes, the one problem I had was that if you didn't see the two parter before this, than your lost until the flashback. But, I like drama and to see the Robo-Batman struggling between his programming and his emotional morality was fun. Sometimes it was over the top and yes I am so annoyed that computers always seem to explode so easily and powerfully, but I would have to say its for the dramatic aspect. It is a cartoon and even though watching this series we forget that, the animators and writers don't. I give this a 6 out of 10, because it isn't self contained and you have to watch the previous two parter to understand fully. Fire From Olympus, OMG, this episode is crazy and I am into Greek mythology and love some of the trivia that is put out, but this character was lame. The fall he takes should have killed him, we even here the full impact of the hit to the floor, making it more apparent that he should be dead. I would have liked this to be a two parter ONLY so we can get a first half exploring his sanity spirling out of control into a second episode(like Two-Face). I am glad we didn't see him again, but his girlfriend or wife, reminded me of Grace from Two-Face, even seemed to have a similar character design. I would have to give this a 3 out of 10, because they are comic book fans and should know better. Read My Lips. I love this episode, so many one liners, I can't choose which one to quote. Rhino is one of those characters you laugh at, but is highly dangerous. He had to have been about 10 feet tall, but I've taken film class and it could just be the way it was drawn to give Batman a real threat. He's not the smartest shed in the wood either(no pun intended), but he's the brawn. I also found myself in later episode wanting the Venquiliquist to snap out of it. Because he really feel like a dummy and Scarface is using him to commit the crimes. I also love the whole Paul Muni(the original Scarface from the 30's)look the puppet gets. I give this a 7 out of 10. Worry Men, oh geez another episode I applaud you for taking the time to watch and review for us. This is just the worse. I do tend to like a few Hatter episodes, but this was the worse of em(even the few minutes he's in for the episode where Superman dressed like Batman was better, which is also the last Riddler appearance). I just can't bother to keep typing. Watxh at your own risk. 1 out 10.
  3. The only thing that Armageddon really delivers on is the fact that every character is playable, including two new characters. The Nintendo Wii version has Khameleon too(I got the PS2 version with Khameleon omitted from the list). The Conquest is fun, but once you miss a chance to get another move, you have to beat the game and replay it again, you can't just go back to it. The Create A Fighter and Create A Fatality part is just a filler for space they didn't want to use, useless(I don't like this on Tekken series either). $50(or even $40) is a ridiculous price to pay for a game that 9 out of 10 times you will play once by yourself than will wait to play with someone else. I have a PS3 now and would like to see what they come up with in the New Generation of game developing, although, if it's like Spider-Man 3(which isn't much different from the PS2 version), that I'll wait 4 the price to drop on that too.
  4. First I must say that Ra's Al Ghoul is a character I had no prior knowledge about before this series and I certainly love David Warner's voice acting with this character. He is certainly another of Batman's most threatening adversaries, but in a way I believe that both Batman and Ra's Al Ghoul have a certain respect for one another and that is what is so interesting about these episodes. They start out as a team, than Batman is betrayed, than back to a team again. I also love how Batman gives Ra's bodyguard 3 strikes, it works so well. I also think that it would be a great idea if you guys, did Whole Podcast episode re-evaluating all episodes, regarding each villains appearance(except for group episodes). Like do a Podcast chronicling all Ra's Al Ghoul episodes, than a Podcast for all Joker episodes, so on. I must also point out that the Superman: Doomsday, was poorly made, especially since it was Produced by Bruce Timm, he should have known us better than that by now. I was annoyed by the "Old Man" cheekbones, the voice acting was okay, but no story developement, we are just thrust into a set of characters with backgrounds we don't know much about. I did read The Death of Superman comics, as well as The Reign of the Supermen that followed and this was done wrong. It's a new set of Made for DVD's movies, why not make five movies all based on indivisual comics in that series. I did like the Kevin Smith reference. The Toyman looks like Tim Burton, which is also a cool connection between those two, but The Toyman of the DCAU continuity was creepier. I am looking forward to The New Frontier, it seems like that it being taken care of more, considering it'll be a two disc special edition in both standard and Blu-Ray DVD's. Now for the two part episode The Demon's Quest, top notch episode. Ra's Al Ghoul in this episode, shows that brains can outbest brawn all the time. Even though, Batman is both, this villain is definately Batman's Lex Luthor, with The Joker being his Darkseid. The animation is excellent. I'm not usually the one to look at the animation and critique it, but thanks to you guys, I have been doing that lately. I can agree that David Warner's voice talent as Ra's Al Ghoul is excellent and that when he talks, I don't think about about David Warner, the man, just the character he's voicing. The Joker, in my opinion and everyone whose read my other post know I'm a huge Joker fan IS Mark Hamil, Yes, he made a name for himself as Luke Skywalker in the 70's and 80's, but I think he's so great as this character and as The Trickster(animated and live action). But back to this episode. I completely agree that this should have been a movie, but you have to remember that when The Mask of the Phantasm came out The Joker was the favorite and the producers wanted to bring in the Phantasm character. In terms of Batman not excepting Ra's proposel, you have to remember that Batman is dark and on the brink of criminal insanity. If he ever excepted something like that, regardless of whether it would be for a greater good, he may allow himself to go over the brink one day. Remember the Justice League episode where they go to an alternate world and we see a more dangerous Batman, he is able to see what he is capable of, grant it that even that Batman wasn't too far off, like the other heroes became. He also knows that the Lazarus Pit causes temporarey insanity and doesn't ever want to lose control of anything. I'm listening now to your statements about his gernade recklessness, I have a friend who is a huge comic book fan and has the 1st issue of the DC Archives for Batman(which has the first 2 years of Batman stories, including Robin's origin)and noticed that the first years Batman wasn't against allowing criminals to die. I think even in one issue he shoots a criminal. I have always thought that as much as Talia loves his father and does want to stay loyal to him, she is still in the right state of mind to know that she needs to give her father a shot at changing a bit, by letting Batman defeat him. I will give this one a 10 out of 10.
  5. Harley ad Ivy, "Aren't You that Poison Oak girl, (srry guys I had a quote from the Joker, but yours was better)great episode. This is where the Poison Ivy episodes become more interesting. I love at the end how we have a sort of "True Romance" type ending(in that film you have the main characters, the couple at a drug deal, where the cops and mafia all end up crashing and a huge gun fight begins, where all three parties are now shooting at each other). It was great to see Poison Ivy, The Joker, his goons and Batman are all fighting. This is a great prequel to what we see in Gotham Knights episode "Girls Night Out" with Ivy, Harley, Batgirl, Supergirl and Livewire. Yes, I certainly feel the same way about the relationship between The Joker and Poison Ivy. I would have loved to see more of that. 7 out of 10 Shadow of the Bat parts 1 and 2, this is a pretty good episode. You had mentioned that previous episodes like Heart of Steel, sort of hints at Barabara Gordon soon becoming Batgirl. While this is a pretty decent episode, I like the revamped costume. You have to remember that Barabara had no plans to become a crime fighter, she simply wanted to appear as Batman for a brief second and it worked, as the case goes on, she gets deeper into the situation. She doesn't actually decide to make it more of a daily thing until the next episode with Catwoman. I love Two-Face episodes, so this is always a fun set of episodes to watch. In terms of Batman not going to the ralley to show the respect to Gordon, it bothers me a bit. Now, he does want to keep a mystic, which is what it should be, but in "Moon of the Wolf" he goes to Romulus' house to recieve a charity check, so if he was concerned for mystic, he wouldn't have ever gone there. I give this episodes 6 out of 10 Blind As A Bat, this is another of the few episodes I enjoyed of The Penguin, now while I also cringed the way Bruce reveals to Alfred that he is blind, it seems so much like a forced dramatic scene. I agree completely that Bruce should have just had Robin take care of things. I mean this once again is why Dick eventually goes solo as Nightwing, because Bruce will never stop treating like a sidekick. 6 out of 10.
  6. Another response review... first off thanks for the e-mail about www.answers.com concerning Wikipedia. The Man Who Killed Batman, "Whose Up For Chinese" I adore this episode, it is just so nutty and it has two of my favorite BTAS characters, The Joker and Thorn. Sid is the type of character who has the best luck, because he's a clutze. There isn't much to say except, this is one of the best Joker episodes. 8 out of 10. Mudslide, I enjoyed this episode. Clayface is one of those characters you feel for. I always felt that if Batman didn't interfere, Hagan would have become human again and just leave everyone alone. In the Gotham Knights the producers take away the sympathy(just like they did with Mr Fries), when he is kind of responsible for the murder of a child(although she was a part of him). I love the gruesomeness and rawness of this episode. The music goes so well with this episode, it is amazing. I do believe that Hagan has feelings for his nurse, though because of his agenda and how he feels about himself, he doesn't know how to show it. At the end when his nurse is hurt, he screams her name in concern I think, because he is scared for her. It's like when you lose something and than realise how important it was to you. This is a high 7 out of 10. Paging the Crime Doctor, yes it's about time Thompkins has a more personal episode, here we have more of the past, but not from Bruce, but from his father. Thompkins, Thomas Wayne and Rupert Thorn's brother was best friends was a nice touch. First off, wow Dinks is a racial slur for Asains, never knew that. Fox and Warner Brothers allowing that must have gotten past the censors. I can safely give this 7 out of 10 Zatanna, I'm not big on this episode, it was nice to see Zatanna in the JLU series, but I wasn't into it. I do enjoy, the later episode with Wonder Woman being turned into a pig, lol. I can't really say much here, except that it was interesting to see again the early years of Bruce Wayne. I never knew that Zatanna always spelled things backwords when doing her spells. That explain the Gotham Girls episode with Zatanna. I give this 5 out of 10, for simply introducing Zatanna The Mechanic, this episode is actually better than most Penguin episodes. It has always brought up a question of when Batman gets into an accident who does he go too. I mean we all assume, he's got Alfred(and in Batman Forever, he even mentions that Alfred is a great mechanic), but he can't do it all. This episode does remind me of Batman Returns, where he does get control of the Batmobile, just like in this episode and tries to kills Batman(with Robin in this episode, by himself in the movie). Here's my score on this 6 out of 10 Another episode where we somewhat agree on scores, are you influencing my taste(I actually score these before I hear your scores)?
  7. What it is for me, is that we all know Batman's motivation for continuing on as The Dark Knight, but as a human being he must rethink his decisions sometimes. When his friend Jim Gordon is shot in the line of duty, he takes it like he failed him, just like how he feels for about his parents. Gordon is one of the few people who hasn't judged Batman, hasn't demanded his identity and never questioned his motives, he respects that and feels like Gordon is the real hero. Gordon feels the same way about Batman and only wishes he could be younger and be like him. We all know that he isn't quitting, but for a character who doesn't show much emotion when he's Batman, it is fun to see that side of Bruce go into Batman.
  8. Here's my second of the day to make up for the time lost of the episode reviews. I have had the same problem with Wikipedia. I've created a few pages and only like 2 are still available. My idea is if the pages shouldn't have been deleted, but just melded together(at least until it was expanded upon). I have done a lot of research and have enough material to bring those pages back and expand upon them(cast and crew info), but haven't because of some of the stuff that has been deleted. Amost Got 'Em, wow, what a great episode. "I hit him with a ROCK.......it was a BIG ROCK, " lol. I love the Two-Face story which actually introduces the Huge Penny that we later see in the batcave in the future episodes(not to mention Batman Beyond). I love the fact that Batman being disguised as Killer Croc acts just like Croc and when the episode ends you understand why Croc is so dumb in this, lol. The Joker/Catwoman segmant(you could kind of say, this is also Catwoman's Almost Got 'Em story). Another case where The gas doesn't effect everyone. You could see Joker's henchman putting on gas mask from the laughing gas, but Joker, Harley, Catwoman and Batman don't seem to be effected. I didn't care for the Penguin or Poison Ivy segmants. I do agree that Poison Ivy episodes seem to get better when she begins to team up with Harley. I give this a high 8 out of 10, just for the gas part. I do love the swinging light gag, that reveals Batman's true self. Birds of A Feather, first I need to say that this is one of my few favorite Penguin episodes. Yes, The Penguin is sympathetic in this episode. This is also the first episode in which Veronica Vreeland is responsible(or at least partly)for screwing up a villains reform(another easter egg you forgot to mention). It does show that although Batman is one of the smartest detectives alive, he can be wrong. I give this 6 out of 10. What Is Reality? I enjoy this episode immensely. The Riddles are once again fun to try an solve. It also gives Robin a chance to show his smarts again, like he most commonly did in the original 1966 series. The next episode to feature The Riddler, never explains how The Riddler got out of the Virtual Reality game. The animation, I can say definately gets better towards the end(especially when Batman and the Riddler starts to double themselves). A thing you mentioned about how similar The Riddler is to the Jim Carrey Riddler, reminded me of another simlarity you and I both forgot to mention. The Mad Hatter in the origin episode is working on an invention for Wayne Tech dealing with mind manipulation and Bruce Wayne wants to find out more, but winds up declining and than Mad Hatter uses his invention in his first caper, just like The Riddler in Batman Forever. Anyway, here's my score 5 out of 10 I Am the Night, I enjoyed this episode, it mixes the drama of who and what Batman is, while delivering the goods. I also love how Bruce as Batman says that he isn't making much of a difference, but when he does decide to go back as Batman, Gordon tells Batman how he wishes he were younger, so he could be Batman, than he finds out that the young screwed up kid in the beginning(played by Seth Green)is going back home, because of Batman's intervention(showing that he did in fact make a difference). Definately 7 out of 10 Off Balance, it's a pretty decent episode, but I figure for it too be anymore only Comic readers would understand. I have read several comics, but none of the Ra's Al Ghoul comics. Thank you for mentioning Helen Slater, I have always wanted someone to mention that. She has recently contributed more to the comic book world appearing as Lara, Clark's Birth mother. I believe David Warner is great in this episode and the continuing series. Talia is one of those characters you know can be good, but is forever controlled in a way to her father's will. I belive that Talia already knew that Bruce was Batman, remember that as evil as Ra's is, he wouldn't bring Talia into anything uninformed(except for when he high on the pit). I give this 5 out of 10, because the villain is just crazy and I feel like he's simply a filler to elp ease everyone into the world of Ra's Al Ghoul and Talia. The Vertigo character's powers remind me of a Superman villain, I forget his name, but I'll bring it up when you get to the episode.
  9. Okay here I am, I fell sick last night and wasn't able to do much of anything, but I am okay now. I am going to review this as I listen to each episodes review(in other reviews I listened than put my own review). Here goes: Joker's Wild "HEY, We were watching That!", wow, you guys seem to have a lot of respect for Mark Hamill, but no love for these episodes, lol It's cool though, it makes it more interesting. This episode is probably in the later top ten of favorite Joker episodes, but still fun to watch. I enjoyed the plot somewhat, but what was wrong with the episode(and shows like these in general) was how dumb the cops were and how easy it seemed for The Joker to escape. If it were that easy, than none of the villains would be in jail that long. Also is it were that easy, why didn't he escape earlier. The guy(his name escapes me at the moment)also says that The Joker face is a copyrighted face from the card company, so why is Harley Quinn waitresses there? Well its too late to fix these things, but here it is 6 out of 10 Tyger, Tyger, this episode sucks, never liked it. I don't know either what makes me hate it, but it feels very slow, the sympathy of the Tygres character does seem forced and Catwoman seems prone to infections(remember Cat Scratch Fever). If I were Batman I'd keep her in a quarentined cell at Arkum. 3 out of 10 Moon of the Wolf, my god DCAU, must have had a terrible couple of weeks with the writing. Just terrible. It makes no sense, I don't like that Milo and Romulas seem to be immune to the gas that knocks out Batman. And remember the word Milo said was the name of the drug, it ended in Esrtegen(remember that hero/villain in the revamped series). 3 out of 10. Day of the Samurai, well you are right on several accounts on how insanely it makes no sense. How does the sensai know that the piece missing it the touch, if he never looked at the document. The episode started nicely, but quickly began to diminish. I was never too into king fu movies or cartoon episodes of shows I like, but it is better than most, but not as good as Night of the Ninja. 4 out of 10 Terror in the Sky, was an okay follow-up to an episode I could never get into. There were a lot of question as to why Mrs Lengstrom is so upset, but I could never really care. I just figured that after the events of "On Leather Wings" that her relationship with her husband started to wither, he started to ignore her out of shame, arugements happening all the time between Mr Lengstrom and her father, etc. I give this a 2 out of 10. I just love that after these back to back terrible episodes(excluding Joker's Wild) that we will be hit with some good ones next time.
  10. Sorry I will be reviewing this edition later tonight. I had my IPod stolen two days ago and have been making holiday plans to travel. I will be listening to this episode later tonight off of my Itunes computer.
  11. Well here I go: Beware the Gray Ghost, one of my favorite episodes. It makes me think that the producers could have taken this opportunity to create a spin off cartoon called The Gray Ghost, with Adam West. It is ironic because Adam West just like Simon Trent is a great actor who has been type casted in one role. We all grew up on the Adam West Batman and Gerorge Reeves Superman TV Series, both actors(with Reeves dying type casted)would find it hard to break free of their respective characters. The episode itself works well in that aspect, but it also gives us a glimpse into Bruce's childhood and we get to see that he didn't just wake up one day and say "Let me be a bat, with a cave" but that he was copying his childhood hero. I absolutely love the Gray Ghost theme, it really sounds like a 50's or 60's theme song. And yes, the The Mad Bomber does look like Bruce Timm, thanks to the person on this forum that brought it up. I did notice thst, but never gave it a mentional thought. I also used to think that The Mad Bomber could be considered a pre-Toyman Toyman. 7 out of 10. Prophecy of Doom, I don't like episodes like this. I like the idea of magic or witchcraft, but this I found was so stupid. I don't really have much to say on it, I'm sorry. Once again I thank you for taking the time to watch and review this episode. 3 out of 10(for Kevin Conroy and the some of the animation) Feat of Clay part 1 and 2, I LOVE THIS EPISODE!! This is one of my personal favorites, I must say. It combines the origins of the Matt Hagan Clayface and the original Clayface(which I read that comic) and does it nicely. The music is top notch and really helps the viewer feel bad for the character. Another episode that entertains and shows the dangers of what happens when you let addiction take a hold of you. I love the fact that you pointed out that during the shapeshifting at the end, he shifts into Metamorpho. Before I give my scores I must comment on Ron Perlman's portrayel of Clayface, FANTASTIC. He just like John Glover(who voices The Riddler)has made a huge staple in the world of Comic Books and movies. He has gone on to plays Hellboy in the Del Toro films(shooting the live action part 2 movie and voicing the animated part 2 movie)and played Blade's nemesis of sorts in Blade II. His portrayel made it weird to see someone else play him in the Birds of Prey TV Series. I never liked the guy who portrayed Clayface in that series. One of the best endings in the BTAS Series also....9 out of 10 The Joker's Favor, Your no fun anymore Charlie, lol I know I keeo quoting lines from Joker episodes. It shows that I watch these episodes the most. Another gem for, I love the music given to Charlie, it really makes this feel like a good old fashion cartoon, while still retaining the darkness of BTAS. Watching Charlie go from a simple man whose just having a bad day, making a mistake, having a decent life, than going crazy all because of the Joker, was fun. If you ever wanted to bring fans onto your podcast I would love to debate on all the Joker episodes that you didn't like as much. It would be fun. 8 out of 10 Vendetta, well its an okay episode as it introduces us to Killer Croc. I also enjoy seeing Bullock interact with Batman as enemy/ally combo. The episodes featuring Killer Croc I haven't watched as much, but this is for me, the second best Croc episode. 4 out of 10
  12. Was it a jewelry store or a convention? If it was a store, it was huge! I'm going to have to look at the episode again just to make sure,
  13. Another quick set of responses from your truly. It's Never Too Late, certainly does show that just like Al Pacino in Godfather III, a man caught up in the mob can get away from it if they truly want too. I never really paid attention to how little Batman really interferes in this episode. Thanks for pointing it out. It really wasn't a Batman episode, he was more of a insigator of events. It's one of those episodes that do two things. It entertains and sends an important message to kids, DON'T DO DRUGS. Rupert Thorn being in the episode is always fun as well, he is dark and cool for an everyday type villain. 7 out of 10 I've Got Batman in My Basement, what were they thinking? I don't really enjoy Penguin episodes to begin with, but this makes it worse. It's Batman meets Home Alone in the worse way. Well here's my quick review, sucks, but still better than Catch Scratch Fever, 2 out of 10 Heart of Ice, the best episode featuring Mr Freeze, may very well be the best episode of the first set of episodes. The Producers and writers of BTAS, gave Mr Freeze a very tragic story, which has since than been put into the comic books and even the dismal Batman & Robin. Mark Hamill's performance as Boyle is great too. Love the idea of Fries vs Boyle(Freze vs Boil) in this episode and it was fun hearing you point that out. This is an episode that definately deserved two parts, but still served its purpose in one episode. Up until now Mr Freeze has only been seen in the Superfriends cartoons and the Batman 1966 TV Series and it was fun to see a definitive background on the character. 10 out of 10 for me The Cat and the Claw parts 1 and 2, Well what can I say, they took a great character and actress put them together. My only problem is they looked to the Batman Returns film for look and attitude it seems. Now don't get me wrong I liked Batman Returns, but it had a lot of flaws. Here we meet Selena Kyle aka The Catwoman. An animal activist to the extreme(like Poison Ivy with the trees and Mother Earth) who scores a date with Bruce Wayne during an auction. Well liked but I'm not sure if it needed two parts. 5 out of 10 See No Evil, I didn't know he can fly too, lol Great line as Batman is on top of an invisible car and two homeless people see him. It is a creepy episode to begin with, the guy does look like a child molester and I never really thought about it, until you guys pointed it out. I'm not sure why the producers would do that, but if they did it intentionally, wow is all I have to say. It always did bother me that when the father goes in to rob the store that Bruce Wayne, just happens to be in he makes so much noise. It also bothered me, that out of all the shops in Gotham that sells jewelry he would choose that one. But I guess you have to suspend disbelief. Anyway, it is great episode to watch. I give it 6 out of 10.
  14. Here I am again to share my views on one of the best Podcast out there. The Underwellers, well let's see. It's not the worst episode. I actually made my own episode guide(because Warner Brothers didn't provide one). Michael Pataki does a great job as the voice of The Sewer King, which does help with my rating for this episode. I always enjoy seeing Batman go almost over the edge with anger and in this episode, being that it's kids in trouble he is at the brink. I did enjoy the scenes with the little boy in Wayne Manor giving Alfred trouble. It had been years since he took care of Dick Grayson, but it is funny to see him out of practice. I give this episode a high 6 out of 10. POV, Great episode, introduces Officer Montoya to the front line(she's not just a background character in this). I always enjoy episodes of any series that involve different stories centered on the same scenerio and this is by far my favorite of them. Of course we all know Bullock, but I have to wonder what happened to Wilkos, the Rookie Cop? The case is never really solved and he is not seen again. Oh well, 7 out of 10 Forgotten, Bruce Wayne losing his memory, but not his instincts is a great way to show the heart and humanity Bruce Wayne still has. I enjoyed the music in this episode in particular. I'm not usually a fan of episodes that don't feature the usual Rogue's Gallery, but this episode is certainly a welcome exception. I especially liked seeing Alfred in the BatWing, lol. 6 out of 10 Be A Clown, well not the best Joker episode, yes I know I'm saying it isn't best and it features The Joker. I think it's funny that the police didn't find the real Jenko until after everything happened. The Gotham City Police must be really slow. Anyway, Joker does get some great one liners as usual and Mark Hamill gives a top notch performance. 4 out of 10 TWO-Face Parts 1 and 2, Here we are, one of the best episodes of one of the most tragic figures in the BTAS, Two Face. I don't exactly know what it is about this episode that makes me like it so much, but I can tell you that I do like it. Maybe its the aspect of two bad guy fighting it out and Batman's dilemma of having to defeat his best friend. While we have seen Harvey's sanity slowly being chipped away in earlier episodes, this is where we finally he him snap. Rupert Thorn is a character I'm not familiar with, other than from this series, but he is a favorite of mine and Candace is like a more adult Ms Teschmocher, with Thorn as her Lex Luthor. I give this 2 perter 8 out of 10.
  15. Here it is, the first episode of one of the best Podcast around. For a while I wanted to do my own Podcast as a fan commentary for each episode, well here are the two geniuses who beat me too it, and they are great. On Leather Wings, the first episode, the first of 15 years worth of episodes which all start from here. Well I do like the connection between the fact that The Batman is still an unknown(which in Robin's Reckoning clearly shows he's been there for years already)and there is a human sized bat terrorizing the city. The show has always been able to get you right into the action in a split second and this one doesn't disappoint. The Danny Elfman score is a definate plus, along with the immense knowledge the Producers, animators and writers have on the comic mythos. Certainly a recommendation. 5 out of 10 points. Christmas With THE JOKER, I love Joker episodes, anytime a Joker episode comes on TV, I have to sit and watch it. This is of course the first appearance of The Joker and a fun one at that. Of course there are flaws(like no Harley Quinn), but overall good episode. Mark Hamill takes the energy and funny hi-jinks he brought to the Trickster in the short lived Live Action series The Flash(which he did only 1 and a half years earlier)and puts it squarely on the villains who deserves it the most(Mark Hamill will reprise his role as The Trickster in the Justice League: Unlimited series). I did in fact love the Jingle Bells, Batman Smells....tune sung by The Joker. The animation could have been better too, but not too distracting. I give this a 5 out of 10. Nothing to Fear, first episode featuring The Scarecrow. This episode has its flaws, but its still watchable. It always bothered me how much of a doll Scarecrow looked in his costume in this episode compared to the look he would have in the future episodes and even the darker revamped look(which I like the most). For me, there isn't much to say on this episode. The idea of a man who can bring your greatest fears to life, has always felt like a good reason to have Batman act differently(he's usually fearless). I'd have to give this 5 out of 10 The Last Laugh, You've Killed Captain Clown, one of my favorites lines. Another episode that I can just sit and relax and enjoy. The plot itself is kind of dumb. In the revamped series we see more of a desperate Joker who needs money and resorts to petty theft to get it. This is still before Harley Quinn. I love to hear your opinions on the Joker episodes, because as fans of the comics as well as the TV series you have the opinion of both sides. Where as I have little knowledge of the comics and a great vast knowledge of the TV series. So keep it up. The music is also great, its so corky, but at the same time energetic. I give this 6 out of 10 Pretty Poison, I always remeber this episode and always laugh when Two Face clearly wants to kill Posion Ivy in the episode "Almost Got 'Em" Now this isn't the first appearance of Harvey Dent, but it is the first episode where he's a central character in a way. Poison Ivy episodes are always weird to watch for me. This is a woman who really feels like she's in the right, while at the same time knowing she's doing wrong. I watched Batman & Robin and wanted so much to watch these episodes, so it is at least better than that(not that Uma Thurman is a bad actress. but the script made it a terrible performance). I can give this a 4 out of 10
  16. I'll be listening, John Glover has such an incredible voice for animation works, I only wish they would have done more episodes.
  17. Well you mention that thr Mother's of DC heroes like Batman Superman are never lingered upon much. You're right to some degree. Rember Superman II: The Richard Lester cut had Lara being Clark's connection in the Fortress of Solitude. Even though, it made no sense for Lara to suddenly appear when Jor-El was his connection in the first film(Illya Salkind still claims is a better thing dramatically, I don't believe so). In the original version of Superman II, Jor-El is still there and the aspect of how Jor-El is let go from Clark is so much better(I really wish I could go back in time and tell Donner about this and convince the Slakinds to keep Donner on). Anyway, it's late so tomorrow I'll right my thoughts on this episodes and a few other Podcast episodes. Have a good night and keep giving us those excellent reviews.
  18. Ok well here's my thoughts on this episode of World's Finest Podcast? Sorry, my opinion is coming so late, but I just recently subscribed to this Podcast and I must say, it make my DVD's watchable yet again(I did at one point watch every DCAU episode, except Batman Beyond in 1 week). Anyway, here it is: Night of the Ninja, I'm not quite sure on this episode. It was never an episode that got me excited. The fun part of the episode is of course Robin showing he can handle his own and of course a look into Bruce's early days before becoming The Dark Knight. The animation at times could have been better, but this is still early in the series history. I'm not too familiar with the comics history, due to personal problems in my life, so any references in any episode veering towards the comic book world I am sure glad you point them out. My score for this episode would have to be a 6 out of 10. Cat Scratch Fever, ughhh. Do I have to review this episode. I applaud you for actually watching this piece of crap, just to give us a review. The animation is terrible, the plot is worthless and the pacing is that of an amateur editor. The only thing this has going for it is Kevin Conroy. I'm not a big Daggett fan, and this episode doesn't make it any easier to like his episodes. Thanks again for taking 22 minutes out your life to review this for us. 1 out of 10(and the 1 is only for Kevin Conroy) The Strange Secret of Bruce Wayne, Great episode, definately one of my favs, not too big on Dr. Strange(though I have read his first appearance in the comics in those DC Archives books), but in this episode he is given a great story. It is no secret to anyone who knows me that The Joker is my favorite of all the DC villains, not just Batman's Rogues Gallery, so The Joker has great one liners in this(I still haven't been watching The Batman cartoon series yet, sadly). In my opinion Mark Hamil is side by side the greatest Joker ever, alongside Jack Nicholson. The Penguin on the other hand, I never liked in this series and I think the Producer's and animators noticed this when they revamped the series on the WB. In the later series he is nothing more than a Club owner, who only organizes schemes, never really goes hands on. Two-Face is a character I can't wait to see in the new Batman movie. Until than this is my favorite(sorry Tommy Lee and Billy Dee)version of Two-Face. I do wish the Producer bring out a film that is canon to this series where he returns as The Judge. Now back to the episode, the plot is simple enough to get into it quickly, the pacing is almost too quick at times, which makes it a joy to watch over and over again. The only thing I don't understand and please forgive me for not being into science, but the machine Strange has created can read a person's thoughts, but is it even possible for any machine to take the thought and display them on a TV screen? I don't know, never understood that. Another thing I must say before I put my score is I have always noticed Strange holding the tape up for the three villains to plainly see Bruce's name on it and always thought it was funny they didn't see it, lol Thanks for pointing it out. Now here we go, 8 out of 10 and a lot goes to The Joker and Two-Face being in it. Heart of Steel Parts 1 and 2, well here is another I did enjoy. I am a huge fan of this series and do like more episodes than I hate, but this was one of my favorites for a long time, until the revamped and team up episodes came out later on. The introduction of Barbara Gordon was fun and the animation was good. There is one scene that always made me wonder if it was a moveable type matte painting. The scene where the women tasers Gordon, shows her in a shadowy way, when she tasers him and he falls down her face is positioned one way, her hat falls off with no movement from her face. Thanks for mentioning The Long Halloween too that is a comic I have plans to pick up. It is also rumored to be the inspiration for The Dark Knight and the 3rd film later on, so I wanna read that first. The pacing of the episode lags at time, I guess because it's a 44 minute episode, instead of the normal 22 minutes. I love the 3rd part of this storyline though, with the robot Batman later on. Once again a great episode. 6 out of 10 If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich? OMG, the Riddler in the DCAU is one of my favorite portrayed. Frank Gorshin will always be the best live action Riddler, but here his stories are always told with smarts. I always find myself trying again and again to solve the Riddles by myself(I have ADHD, so I forget always). It's sad that the last time we see the Riddler he is being duped by Tim Drake while Superman is dressed like Batman. I know that he is voiced by John Glover in the later series, but I do believe he is also voiced by John Glover in this series as well. John Gloer has made staple in the comic book world in films and TV. He played in Batman & Robin as the creator of Bane AND Poison Ivy, he plays the voice of the Riddler here and he plays Lionel Luthor in TV's Smallville. Not to mention his hilarious appearance in Gremlins II: The New Batch. Definatrly one of my favorites and I could only wish that is Bruce Timm and Co. decide to go back to this canon series for a film they bring back The Riddler as one of their options. I give this 7 out of 10. If you are reading this I greatly appreciate it and hope to hear from, you. If not, keep giving us those great reviews.
  19. I have recently subscribed to this Podcast and downloaded all of them. I've listened to the first one and absolutely love it. Very enticing view on a very historic and prolific show. I listen to quite a few Podcast and think this is one of the best ones. For a while now, I have wanted to do a Commentary Podcast that would allow listeners to watch the episodes with mr and hear my comments and hopefully the comments of guest commentators(whether they worked on the shows or are from another Podcast). I wanted to know how do I start my own Podcast? Trust me, it would not be a competitor to this Podcast, since I will definately mention it frequently(and maybe even get them to join me in a few episodes).
