  1. When they were shooting Mallrats for Universal, the studio had a problem with Jason Mewes(because they didn't think he could act), so Jason Mewes had to audition for the role Jay, Seth Green and Brecken Meyer did audition for the roles as well.
  2. With so many comic book based films out there, I wanna know, what is your favorite? This I'm sure is a tough question to answer, so give me your top ten. 10: The Punisher 9: Spider-Man 8: Blade 7: X-Men II 6: Sin City 5: Daredevil: Director's Cut 4: Spawn 3: Batman Begins 2: Superman 1: The Crow I didn't include Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman or Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, because they are animation. But those are also on my top favorites. I also didn't include Tim Burton's Batman, because as good and classic as it is, Batman Begins is still better.
  3. I actually saw Assassins in the theaters and liked it the first time I watched it, but whenever it has come on cable or TV and I attempt to watch it, I can't, it's weird. Julianne Moore was really good in this, forgot to mention that, but she was in Tales From the Darkside: The Movie and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle before she did this and was decent in them.
  4. Well they do have the complete series set(it's called The Chosen Set) which cost at least $165.00, each season cost 30 to 40 dollars, so it is cheaper and it features an exclusive Box Set disc. You also have Angel: Complete Series which is at least $70.00. NOTE: These cost are off of Amazon, so it may be cheaper or more.
  5. I just got done creating a Dark Knight Youtube playlist. This playlist features Music Videos, themes and fan made films associated with Batman. So go to my Dark Knight myspace and check it out.
  6. It's never too late to get into Buffy on DVD, but you might feel the need to get Angel as well since there are several crossover episodes. If all you seen is the movie, please don't judge the show on that, it's completely different and better. I can give you a little info on things that happened in the series, just to get you more into wanting to watch it, than PM me. The best seasons were Season 2, 3 and 6.
  7. I have three myspace pages, one of them is my "Movie" myspace. It features pics(in the pic section)of movies that will be out this year. The movie I find most interesting is the film I make as an overall theme of the page(layout, theme and trailer). This year we will have Rambo IV, Indiana Jones IV and The Dark Knight, so it was hard, since I love all three series(with the first two ending over 18 years ago), but since The Dark Knight will be my most favorite and has the coolest layouts I have chosen that. Here is the link for the myspace. Thank you to Yoda for allowing me to post: http://www.myspace.com/annericelover1 or you can go on myspace and search for Why So Serious? in the search engine or the email address annericelover@yahoo.com Hope you enjoy
  8. With The Dark Knight coming out this summer, finally! I have made on of my myspace pages devoted to it. It is my movie myspace and features pics from various movies coming out this year, but the theme of the page is The Dark Knight, check it out and hope you enjoy: www.myspace.com/annericelover1 I have two other myspace pages, if you'd like them, please PM me.
  9. I can't really make a choice here. Richard Donner is an excellent director, but each film are in different genres(except the Lethal Weapon films). Lethal Weapon is my favorite out of the four films. Superman is one of my favorite comic book based films(if not THE BEST) The Omen is almost side by side with The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby when it comes to "Devil Movies" Radio Flyer is an ok drama, but really only for adolescents and adults. The Goonies is a classic, I have heard he was particularly hard to work with on this film, but I guess all directors have that one film where there not themselves. Scrooged is a favorite of mine, I've seen it more than The Toy, so I have to go with that. It is nice to see Jackie Gleason out of his "Ralph Krandem" persona and playing another character in The Toy. I didn't care too much for 16 Blocks, a good time passer, but that's it. I haven't seen Maverick, so no opinion on that. You apologized for not including Conspiracy Theory, which is ok, but it is another one of my favorite Donner/Gibson collaborations, not to mention Julia Roberts is in top performance form in this. Another film yoy didn't mention is Assassins which was a good film, but it was one of Stallone's and Banderas' weakest films. Sorry, I'm a movie geek Lastly Tales From the Crypt TV Series, he directed a few episodes and was a Producer on the show.
  10. I'll wait for the stories to be pulled together for one collected novel. I loved the series of Buffy and Angel and always thought, it deserved a better ending.
  11. Thanks that is definately something I picked up. Growing up I didn't read too much comics, but I did read The Death of Superman and The Reign of the Supermen comics, it will be nice to own them again.
  12. Really; thanks I'll have to try that. I don't have a credit card so I guess a Prepaid or Debit will have to do. Can you recommend any other Graphic Novels? Has there been a release of the Death and Reign of Superman(Men)storylines in a book form.
  13. I just ordered Batman: The Long Halloween and it will arrive in 10 days. I also ordered Smallville Season 5; The Official Companion. I was disappointed though, because I tried to order The Killing Joke (which I heard is also an inspiration to some of The Dark Knight storyline) and it said it was out of print. The book store owner did say that it will be reprinted in March 2008. I can't believe I have to wait, I wanted to read that before The Long Halloween. Oh well.
  14. I still have all of the systems I mentioned, except Sega Dreamcast, Sega Game Gear, 3DO, PS1(don't need it with PS2 OR PS3) and Atari(although, I still think my mother has it somewhere). I have the original NES and SNES, the slim PS2 I heard that all the outlets that were selling "old games" don't sell them anymore and where I live at in NJ and NY, all those shops have stopped selling them.
  15. I know the last post is from a long while ago, but here's my list, in order of purchase: Atari Nintendo Sega Genesis Gameboy(original grey one) Super Nintendo Sega Game Gear Panasonic Game Genie's for Nintendo and Gameboy Gameboy Color Nintendo 64 Sony Playstation Sega Dreamcast Gameboy Advance Sony Playstation II Super Gameboy(yes, it took me this long to get it) Nintendo Gamecube Sony Playstation III I never wanted a Sega Saturn or Sega CD, I have no interest in X-Box or X-Box 360(except for the HD-DVD) and I have yet to get Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii, but I will.
  16. ? What James means is that this was one of the very first things posted on the Earth-2.net forums... back in March 2004! So adding a comment now, nearly four years later, is a huge "bump." Oh ok, I'm sorry I haven't seached through all the forum's yet and didn't realise the time of the post. Thanks though
  17. I definately have plans to pick this up. Alot of this story is what inspired The Dark Knight movie. Can't wait to order it this week.
  18. This is an outline I started back in 1994(I was 11). I'm not a great writer, so I never really expanded upon it until recently. It doesn't take any elements from the comic book series of the same name and it cuts off Robocop 3 and Terminator 3 as canon. Now I am no screenwriter, so I don't know anything about writing one. After Terminator II came out and the disastorous Robocop III(Robocop II was terrible too, but wasn't as bad as the third). I had developed a small sypnosis for a crossover movie(this coincided with a Freddy Vs Jason idea I fleshed out after Jason Goes to Hell came out). Obviously it ignores the events in Robocop III and T3 never happened yet(this is still in the idea). Well here goes: We open with a mock type commercial, sponsering some bogus video game of sorts, which is being brought to you by OCP and the City of Detroit. We find Robocop, formerly known as Alex Murphy, a cop killed in the line of duty. He's busy driving around, scanning the streets(with his helmet visor)looking for any signs of trouble. He begins to notice a man who looks like he's in his mid-20's walking around suspisciously. He quickly tries to ID the young man and discovers that he has no known ID(off the grid). He begins to circle around, when the young man notices him and begins to run off. Robocop than heads in pursuit after him and winds up cornering him in a dead end alle way. He grabs onto the young man, who appears to spit in his face(or in this case helmet)and with an angry distasteful look on his face he says to Robocop "You''l never defeat the human race, you'll never break our spirits. " Not knowing why, the young man seems to have so much rage for him, he demands to know his name. The young man surprised at this, gives off a bewildered looks and stutters "John, John Connor, " and continues to say "You're not one of them are you?" Murphy looks at him and drags him to the police vehicle and throws inside. At the police station, he is held in custody, until he can clarify what is going on. Meanwhile, in the same alley way, that Murphy apprehended John, an electrical type currents appears and seems to disolve everything within its range. Suddenly a muscular naked man appears, it seems without emotion, he heads towards the nearest club, to gather clothing. He enters into the local XXX/Club/Bar and runs into a group of guys who refuse to give up there clothes. He kills them one by one, while the rest of the people in the club scammer around. While this is happening John has agreed to tell his story, but only to Murphy. When he is finished with story, there a skeptism from the guys behind the two-way mirror, but Murphy believes John, since his heart appears to be beating at the same rate(meaning he's telling the truth). Suddenly, a call over the police radios announces that violent fight has broken out at the same bar the Terminator is at and that they need an ambulance, coroner and the police right away. John quickly tells them, that they need to be prepared, they can't fight it alone(from the description over the radio about the killer, John quickly realizes what it is). Several cops have already left and shortly after appear outside the bar. They begin to slowly go toward the front door when the bar owner is flown out through the window. Shots are than fired, with The Terminator now fully dressed, demanding to know where John Connor is, than smashing and ripping the heads off each cops that opposes him. John hears the dispatcher over the radio as he is telling the station to stay away, he than dies while over the radio, with static appearing shortly after. John talks to Murphy about going there and confronting the machine, Murphy doesn't agree, but John is insistant, with a strong military commanding sound he demands that Murphy let him go and confront the machines. Murphy knocks John out to protect him and heads off to stop the Terminator. He arrives at the bar, with The Terminator killing off the last of the cops. He recognizes NMurphy somehow and demands to know where John is, Murphy refuses, saying "Dead or Alive, You're Coming With Me." A small fight begins, meanwhile John awakes and realizes what has happened and steals a police vehicle. The battle is still going on and Murphy has been hurt considerably. John arrives and he quickly enters the vehicle. John proclaims that they need to get away, that the Terminator won't hurt anyone who isn't in his way, because it isn't his mission. He ak Murphy if he knows anyone they go to, so he can repair himself. He says yes and proceeds to show John the home of his old partner Lois(or is it Lewis, last name)(since part 3 didn't happened, she is still alive). There is more stuff, but here is the rest of the rundowns: You get the essential charactersm like Robocop, Terminator(newer model than Arnold), Lois, Murphy's old partner and possible love interest for John. I also figured that being that this is a little ahead in the future, we also have a teenage Kyle Reese, maybe a rookie at the police station, or a drifter(not knowing his parents), also we have new flashback scenes with Sarah Connor on the last few moths that she was still alive. Another element I wanted to put out there was this film could be the beginning of the resistance. Danny Dyson is introduced as a young adult carrying on his father's work(he doesn't know what happened in T2) and has taken Cyberdyne systems and teamed it up with OCP(who is well aware of this new threat as soon as it began, they want Murphy dead). Like I said earlier I am no good at screenwriting, which is why this outline is not structured well. But if you get the basic premise, please let me know what you think.
  19. Hello everyone, here is another review by yours truly. Before I review I must mention this to my fellow geeks. I watched the George C Scott version of A Christmas Carol on Christmas and notice a few connections. A few of the actors have been in Comic Book related material. George C Scott who plays Scrooge played the ship captain in Spider-Man(the one who shouts "WE'RE GONNA MAKE IT) Susannah York who plays Mrs Cratchett played Lara Kal-El's mom in Superman and the theatrical Superman II Michael Gough who plays a businessman of Scrooge's played Alfred in the 90's Batman movies David Warner who plays Bob Cratchett plays the voice of Ra's Al Ghoul in the DCAU. Harley's Holiday,CAPT VRELLAND: Gotcha Now, BULLOCK: You screwy liitle, FOXXY: Trouble-making clown, This is one of the best episodes featuring Harley Quinn. This episode, since it does features Harley it comes off as very cartoony at times, but funny as hell. We got a scene where she's walking with her Hyena pets and the reaction from everyone is priceless. Also the admittance from Bruce that Alfred dresses him is funny, but a bit weird too. Why again, is Bruce hanging out with Veronica Vreeland, this is another episode featuring a rogue trying to stay legit and she happens to be around when they crack. Harvey Bullock in this episode is just hilarious, it's got to be his worse day on a beat and his responses are funny. Just a classic, that really shows you that even at the end of its first series it was still going strong. Definately an 8 out of 10 Lock Up, actually this episode is pretty decent. Several readers must of thought at one point, why does Batman keep allowing the criminals to go back to Arkham giving them a chance to escape and just cause more trouble. I love the opening, first it's the second episode in a row to feature The Scarecrow being bought back to Arkham by Batman and Robin. It's also funny to see that Arkham would allow the Venquilaquist to have Scarface(in a straight jacket)in the cell with him. I love the comment Robin gives Batman when he discovers that Lock Up is the guard at Arkham. The animation in certain scenes stands out well. I would have really enjoyed seeing this character again. 7 out of 10 Make Em Laugh, Naughty Bor, Mama Spank, lol this is episode is the last of the FOX B:TAS to feature The Joker and while its fun to watch, it isn't the best. I just find it kind of hard to believe that The Joker would care about a laugh off contest. He's unpredictable at times and maybe its possible. The thing I did like is that he took Mad Hatters mind control device in order to push his plan forward. 4 out of 10 Deep Freeze, you know sadly we didn't get many Mr Freeze episodes, but whenever we did, we always manage to enjoy them. This is the last appearance of Mr Freeze in this series, but not in this incarnation, he will be seen once more in the direct to video Batman and Robin; Subzero and than revamped for the WB Batman series and Batman Beyond. Here we see Mr Freeze at his most deperate(before Subzero, obviously) and at least for me, it's a very sad situation he's put in. Great continuity from the Heart of Steel episode, with this new villain having access to Rossum's old robot knowledge. Walker is one of the worse criminals, I'm dorry it's a cartoon, but this guy just makes me crazy, boy did he hit the center of Freeze's cold heart. Although, if Walker was to return he'd be a villain we'd see Mr Freeze face time and time again. 8 out of 10 Batgirl Returns, I have no idea why the Producer's waited to bring Batgirl back until the last episode, but here we are. It's not a bad episode, but if it was done sooner we might have gotten to see more of Batgirl in action, before she became part of the team. Perhaps this was to reintroduce Barbara to the fans for the Subzero movie. It was fun to see the rogues gallery in the dream sequence. Watching Batgirl and Robin argue is funny, considering that their alter-egos like each other, they argue like brother and sister. Another thing, how does Catwoman know where Batgirl will be? Does she know she's Barbara? If she doesn't she does the minute she picks up the note. I love the animation work in both the dream sequence and the sequence in the night club(with The Chemist). Well for the last episode, we get a score of 6 out of 10. Well so far on episode Harley's Holiday and Make Em Laugh, thanks for the trivia you give on Deep Freeze. I knew I recognize Bat-Mite, but forgot what he was called. Lock Up, the scene where Bolton is tripped by Bruce Wayne, at that moment he was going after the villains. I have to agree about the revolving door question. The smoke makes no sense, if someone is watching. I would have liked to see an episode with Bruce being blackmailed, because of that mistake. Deep Freeze, I suspect that perhaps at one point Boyle and Walker were partners of some sort, not contracturly connected, but silent partners. Or maybe Mr Freeze came in later after working for Walker. I looked and I couldn't find another Mr Freeze episode. There really wasn't a reason for Freeze to leave Arkham, so they came up with this forced break out. In terms of how easy Walker was to defeat, I can see that happening. Walker is more sly than dangerous. He doesn't know how to really use the outfit yet and has no clue how to fight, his only crutch(other than his cane, lol)was Nora Fries and by that time Mr Freeze had her already. The end of the episode is quite sad, but put your mind in his and yes he is forever with her(at least at that time). Remember the scene where Mr Freeze makes that dark entrance on Batman and Robin is also part of the New Batman/Superman Adventures title. Batgirl Returns, now while it is weird to not have Batman in this series finale, the Producers, Animators, etc Must have known that Subzero would be released soon and that features Batman. It was direct to video and it might have been scheduled originally as a three part episode(I believe this is what happened too), it was delayed several times to avoid comparisons with Batman & Robin, but in the end it was more successful.
  20. Ok, while I'm not a big fan of comics, I have started getting into it and have grown a sense of respect for the Batman comics in particular. So I will give you reasons for each of the Joker's I mention as to why I enjoy them. The earliest interpretation I have had the pleasure of discovering is off of Detective Comics #45: The Case of the Laughing Death, this Joker is very dark and maniacal. With no Comics Code yet, the writers and artist certainly gave this version of the character a dark demeter. Laughing almost none of the times and very dangerous. The second interpretation is from the 1960's Batman TV Series with Caeser Romero playing the first live action Joker. While the character was very true to what the comics were doing at the time(from what I've read)Romero made the character his own, a character in which anyone like me who didn't read comics will get a real jolt when Jack Nicholson re-invents how the Joker should be portrayed. The third is off of the the two episodes of The New Scooby-Doo Movies(The Dynamic Scooby Affair, The Caped Crusader Caper) voiced by Larry Storch. The episode featured also had him partnered up with The Penguin, so his character was played like a foil against his own partner(who was shown as the smarter and more sinister of the two), once again this was The Joker of the time. I do enjoy these episodes, seeing that I'm both a Batman and Scooby-Doo fan(from my childhood). Now the fourth interpretation I've come to know was from the 1989 Tim Burton film Batman portrayed by Jack Nicholson. Nicholson here does such a superb job, that I often find myself at odds when choosing whose better Nicholson or Hamill(soon it may have a third candidate in Heath Ledger). He very maniacal, which is The Joker I read from DC#45 and he's got a sick sense of humor. For years I was one of those kids who fed into Tim Burton's backstory on Joker being involved with the death of Bruce Wayne's parents, which I am glad I have finally found out the truth. The fifth interpretation is of course off the DCAU Joker voiced brilliantly by Mark Hamill, Hamill had recently portrayed a similar character in the short lived live action series The Flash as The Trickster(who he played twice and voiced in an episode of the JLU)and is of course best known as Luke Skywalker, but for me he will always be the definative animated Joker. He took what made Nicholson's Joker work and twisted it in his own persona and it was incredible. Always giving great one liners and was responsible for one of the best sidekick henchman's ever Harley Quinn. The sixth interpretation was from the pilot episode of the short lived Birds of Prey TV series. We only see a shadow and a quich glimpse of this Joker, but was played by Roger Stoneburner and voiced by Mark Hamill. Although, he only appears in the very beginning of the pilot, it served as a strong vehicle to keep watching as Harley Quinn was seen doing everything in her power to bring Gothan back to the way it was and bring Mr J back in town, sadly this never happened as the network only allowed 13 episodes. The 7th interpretation is off the still running series The Batman voiced by Michael Richardson. Now while I haven't been keeping up on the series(I will start, promise). This Joker is different from any other, but that's a good thing. He is incredibly at times very creepy. The 8th interpretation is off of the Batman comic(not sure the #)called Secrets. In this comic, Gotham City now has video cameras everywhere, The Joker is released from Arkham and when he kills his psychiatrist(who wrongly gave him a bill of sanity health)him and Batman begin to fight, a couple catches the fight on tape and it appears to them that Batman is the killer and instigator. So now Batman needs to clear his name. Each character in this book has a Secret they don't want revealed. This Joker appears to be very insane, possibly he's The Joker from The Killing Joke, a novel I have to read. The Dark Knight will be out in June of 2008, with Heath Ledger portraying The Joker, The Killing Joke, Dark Knight Returns and The Long Halloween were the books he was given to read and from the trailers I've, my God. I will most likely have a new front runner as the best Joker, he is no laughing matter, a very sick indivisual who you can't reason with and can't make sense out of.
  21. Here it goes, after coming into this great podcast, so late into it, I finally caught up. I guess now I must wait on a weekly basid like everyone else Oh well. Here goes my reviews: Baby Doll, okay, well this is a pretty decent episode for a character I once again never knew about. The first thing that I have to bring up in terms of continuity is that on the News broadcast Gleeson says that the show Mary Dahl was on premiered 20 years ago, than Gordon says that a clip being shown is when she was 20 years old, than he said that now she'd be about 30(ten years after the show). I doubt very much that the series Dahl was in lasted 10 years, so was this a mistake on the writers or did they not care? Also it always made me wonder how is it that a someone as small as Baby Doll, could possibly have huge henchman at her bec-n-call, thay would most likely just throw her around(although I guess Miriam does seem to enforce what she wants). It's kind of shocking to see Batman basically throwing a woman into a wall(even though it's fake), I'm not sure if it's normally a censors thing, but I'm guessing since it's out of defense it's justified. The last part of the episode is where it goes into the sympathetic mode for the character. It must be tough to live your life eternally in the body of a baby, it must cause a form of depression. It was interesting to see what Baby Doll would have looked at her proper age though the fun house mirror. I certainly give this a 7 out of 10 The Lion and the Unicorn, here we get the return of Red Claw and we get into a ilttle backstory on Alfred's personal life. It's pretty cool to see how resourceful Alfred really is, in previous episodes he's always being caught, here he is shown to be a real asset to Bruce Wayne's life. A side note; Robin appears in this episode, but without the Batman & Robin title card. Now Red Claw demands a code that Freddie eventually gives up, but how does Red Claw know that that's the first part of the code? It could be the last. Wow, Red Claw not only manage to get into the Batwing, but also manage to rip off Batman's mask and reveal his identity. Does this mean a huge end has been left loose. Red Claw is still alive, with the knowledge of what Batman looks like(I'm not sure though, if she knows what Bruce Wayne looks like though). When I first seen this as a kid, it bored me to tears, it had none of my favorite characters(except the Dynamic Duo), but as an adult I have a little respect for it. I give it 6 out of 10. Showdown, now I am sorry. I am watching this episode for the simple reason of reviewing it properly, but I never liked this episode. I was never a big Wild West fan and just dislike this episode(although, it was a fun thing to see Batman meet this character in the JLU episode). I'm not really sure why they made this episode, we never see this character again until the JLU(and we must remember this wasduring the FOX run, so they didn't know that they would get another chance to bring him back). The one thing I did like is that the character Jonah Hex has that bone passing his mouth, that was a cool touch. This is another episode to feature Robin, without the Adventures of Batman & Robin title sequence, but it could be justified that he's not central to the story, but neither is Batman either. Now I'm not sure how to spell his name, but DuVall is played excellent by Malcolm McDowell, the future Metallo/John Corben and Dr. Loomis, it is fun to see McDowell and David Warner together in a scene, these are two great actors, who have never shared a screen together. I can say that this episode is better to watch as an adult, but it's still not the best Ra's Al Ghoul episode. 5 out of 10 Riddler's Reform, YES! finally, another Riddler episode, it has been too long since John Glover graced us with his voice talents(sorry sometimes even Smallville and too a much lesser note Batman & Robin benefit from Glover's performances). It's interesting to see that Riddler's new partner was referenced in a previous Riddler's episode when Robin mentions how easy the Baxter's Box was. The animation in certain areas are definately top notch. The Riddles are once again perplexing, but not as much, since The Riddler in this episode purposely wants Batman to get it. It's great to see that one of The Riddler's own toys and his obsession with Batman did him in, in the end. Great episode, 8 out of 10 Second Chance, great episode. The sinmation from the start stands out. I don't usually comment the title cards, because I don't really care for them, but this title card fit the episode. The episode once again pulls at the sympathy for the character of Harvey Dent/Two-Face and hte for his henchmen, who basically messed up his chances at a normal life. For Batman, it's more personal, because Harvey is after all his best friend. We see even more of the distance between Robin and Batman in this episode, a plot that will come into play in the revamped series episode "Old Wounds. " Incredible episode to watch over and over again. 8 out of 10. Here's responses from the podcast: Hey James, I might have a solution to your music video problem. I'm not sure how your computer is set up, but I'm sure you can digitally remove the subtitles. You really don't wanna hear my Christmas situation, I have to do a lot of traveling back and forth as well. Did you know that in the fan film Batman: Dead End(I believe that's the name of the Alien/Predator/Batman crossover) the actor playing The Joker is the same guy who played Boner(Joshua Andrew Koenig) in the TV series "Growing Pains" The same people who made Dead End also made a fan film called World's Finest, go on Wikipedia and you'll find links for both fan films.
  22. Just like the last one I will be reviewing the episodes while watching them and than responding to comments made by the podcast. The Terrible Trio, uggh, I will review this, seeing as you took the time too. Watching this I felt like a gun was being pointed at my head. What a waste of 22 minutes. . Also the reasoning behind the trio's robberies is because they were bored, come on! That has got to be the laziest reason a writer has come up with. Not too mention, how we never see Bruce with these guys ever and suddenly for the convience of the episode he's good enough friends with them to visit the father of one of them in the hospital. This should have been called The Terrible Episode. 0 out of 10 Harlenquinade, BATGIRL, eat your heart out! Excellent episode, definately one of my favorites. I can remember sitting in my home watching the FOX network and seeing the TV Spots for it. And than the joy of finally seeing it. The animation was spot on, the storyline, was a great way to show how the character of Harley can carry and entire episode. We even get more of a backstory on Harley Quinn. I especially love the 30's style musical number. 8 out of 10 Time Out Of the Joint, ok, I could swear that this is the first episode to feature the title card The Adventures of Batman & Robin, which isn't really a change from the style of the series, this is just a change to coincide with the theatrical release of Batman Forever. I always though that Temple Fuget kind of looked like Mr Slugworth from the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory(with Gene Wilder as the title character). Decent episode, but since I'm not a comic book guy, can anyone tell me if this character seems to have a similar theme as Tempus from Lois and Clark(I dn't know if he's a real comic book villain), bot are obsessed with time, but Tempus is a time traveler and Temple is a clock/time wizard. Anyway, I give this 6 out of 10 Catwalk, ok for one thing we once again get Bruce Wayne dating Veronica Vreeland again, is it me or is Gotham scarce when it comes to date material for Bruce. Also we get another episode where a character is trying to reform and Veronica is present in the episode. I actually enjoyed this episode somewhat. I'm not really a big fan of the Catwoman episodes, but it works and features Scarface. I also love how Batman seems so smitten, that you almost forget he knows the truth and belive that he's buying into it. I think by Batman choosing to save a extinct stuffed animal over arresting Selena, that as his way of letting her go. 6 out of 10. Bane, Wow, how long has it been since Rupert Thorn has been featured in an episode? Grant it, this is the debut of Bane, the plot is driven by Thorn hiring Bane for a job. I must say that I never read the comic where Bane breaks Batman's back, but that would be an awesome story to put to film(at least from what I've heard). I loved seeing the fight between Candace and Robin, classic. But the thrill was the fight between Batman and Bane, sure it wasn't that much different from other fights, but the look of Bane when he doses up was awesome, than when he OD's is creepy as hell. He has the strength of Croc and Rhino(of Scarface's gang)and the brains to match it. 7 OUT OF 10. Now I will listen to this Podcast episode: My opinion on the House and Garden arguement is that, each of the kids, grow to look like Dr Carlyle when they become adults, so it's more convient to just keep reproducing the kids off of his DNA, so when Carlyle becomes the monster, she can take one of the grown kids as the husband. If she made clones of herself, than sooner or later the Carlyle clone will disappear. The Terrible Trio, completely agree on your statement of how terrible this episode is. Like I said in my opinion above. Bruce Wayne's appearance with these characters are a stories convenience. The license plates of the trio was missing when they ran off from the father's plaza, which in itself should have made it so they get pulled over by the cops. Yes, the line about them being worse than the Joker, always urked me. Harlenquinade, there is just nothing to debate about. You seem to love it as much as me. Time Out of the Joint, doesn't seem like Mayor Hill is a magnet for being a taget to be blown up. In "Be A Clown, the Joker sets up a birthday cake with a bomb and in the previous episode Harlenquinade and now here. Yes, only episodes featuring Robin has the new title card. Catwalk, Well I have to say that Selena is the way she is in this episode, because she feels trapped in a cage, she feels like she is being forced to be a good girl, not from her own decision, so she's going through her own form of depression and depression will make you be an ass to everyone, even those who don't deserve it. Well not much more to debate here it seems, I just enjoyed this episode more than usual Catwoman episodes. Bane, not much here either, I do love this episode
  23. Ok so this will be the first time I review each episode, while I watch the five episodes being reviewed. When I am done I will than listen to this Episodes podcast and put in my opinion from what the podcast says. Sideshow, I was never a big Killer Crox fan, until this series I never heard of him. This is a decent enough episode. Before I begin my review I always wondered why the writers, producers, etc, never gave us an origin story for Croc. Any comic book fans, please give me some info, does he have an interesting backstory? Well now for my review. For onc Batman takes a fall and like a human being is knocked out for a while. It has been said several times on this podcast that he is smashed with objects and falls several feet to the ground and manages to survive. But once again it is for the sake of the story, but still a good change. We are introduced to a world that Crox might have been a better person if he grew up with them, a grop of Sideshow performer with disfigurements. The color for Croc, like in the previous episode always bothered me, since he is part Reptile, the revamped look always seemed better. I give this a 6 out of 10 A Bullet for Bullock, first off I must say, the score is one of the best and the animation style is very good. We are immediately sucked into the world of Bullock from the title card, even the nasty areas of his life. This episode certainly makes you understand Bullock a bit. The thing I love about this series is how timeless it is, we see 30's and 40's style cars, but than we see computers, so we are never sure. This episode certainly gives us the 30's feel(given that there is a scene with the BatComputer). The score given to Bullock is a great piece of 40's noir style, but the real treat is to hear that same type of score remixed into the Batman theme. One of the best sequences was the hilarious ending and the reveal of the assailant, lol brilliant part. I give this an 9 out of 10. Trial, Record!? Is someone supposed to be writing this down? The first thing from watching this episode, I immedaitely felt like this is one of the best, if not the best Mad Hatter driven episode. It's also a great irony that DA Van Dorn is campaigning against Batman and is seen going on a date with Bruce Wayne, lol great stuff. To hear each villain giving their point of view of their origin and how they became what they became was interesting. The lighting for the episode is terrific, the animators usually find great ways to light certain scenes and I love it here. We do get to see The Riddler and Scarecrow, who have been absent from the series for a while, but no talking. It's one of those episodes I can watch again and again, so for that I give this a 7 out of 10 Avatar, the first thing I must say is that Ubu in the costume he's in the beginning he looks very much like The Phantasm in the shadows, I wonder if that's a coicendence or deliberate. It's always interesting to see Batman or Bruce Wayne having to struggle between his heart and his mind. Whenever he faces Ra's Al Ghoul, his biggest edge on Batman is Batman's love for Talia. These episode featuring Ra's Al Ghoul have always been a fan favorite, even for me, mainly because we get to see the "Detective" in Batman, he throws very few punches and must use his head 100% of the time. David Warner once again is in top performce here. Another great episode featuring one of Batman's smartest and dangerous foes. I give this 8 out of 10. House and Garden, Truly the best Poison Ivy episode in the entire DCAU. This episode manages to capture the true essence of Ivy's world and the struggle we never truly get to see. The monsters depicted aren't probably the least thrilling of the episode, but I truly fond myself, the first time I watched it and even now as I'm watching it sorry for her. She gives a speech about how much she hated what she was and for a minute at least I believe she really feels that way. I manage to notice a very "Creepshow" image as the creature smashes Dick we see a flash of red in the background, just like in the film Creeshow, that I thought was really eerily and cool. I give this a 7 out of 10. Here's after I'm hearing the podcast. First thank you for the titles to read. I have been fixing to buy The Long Halloween, but Hush is something I have to get too. Yes, the producers of Rob Zombie's Halloween originally wanted to release it in October, but decided on an early release, not sure if it had to do with Saw being released, but the film was so anticipated it would have survived. Guess what guys, Saw IV isn't the end, we will be getting a Saw V and Saw VI, with a possible Saw VII. I love the Saw series, but I figure after the 5th one they need to stop, hopefully they smarten up. Jaws would have gotten a PG-13 ratings, it's a suspense thriller and there is brief nudity. Although, it's only about 3 seconds it comes when the shark is coming up on the islander in the beginning. Like I said in the previous post, Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom was the first film to earn the PG-13, watch the 4th disc on the Indiana Jones box set and it is explained why. Here's the link for the Gotham Girls website: http://www2.warnerbros.com/web/gothamgirls...swf&end=end Sideshow, now I have to agree on how does Croc know where the pellets in Batman belt are, but in terms of security, he has never been in the position yet where a villain has used it against him, so he wouldn't put the seciurity messure on it. Because of this experience, that is probably why, he has those later messures. Also, I don't think Croc knew what he was grabbing, he just knew it would give him an edge. A Bullet for Bullock, The comment you made about Montoya's placement since POV, I believe that she might have been undercover or off of work at that point. It's so easy to love this episode, I can't find any reason for anyone to dislike this episode. There is that one scene where Bullock saves Batman from being shot by shooting while on a lowering chain, that was awesome and showed how much of a good cop Bullock is, he may be a slob in his personal life, but an excellent cop. Trial, Yes, the "Throw the Rock at Him" said by Croc is always a laugh from me. This is the first reference to Harley's origin. I think it's kind of ironic that Joker is playing a joke of a judge and in the revamped series finale Two-Face become The Judge. It's cool to think that maybe in the episode "Harlenquinade" Harley helps Batman for the same reason Joker ratted Harley out for, time off. Avatar, I don't really have anything to say on this. We do see some affection between Talia and Bruce, but it comes way too many times. House and Garden, Same thing here, not much to say. Here's the link for Gotham Girls again: http://www2.warnerbros.com/web/gothamgirls...swf&end=end
  24. It would have been a cool extra on the Volume 1 Box Set to have the Tim Curry Joker episodes, to compare. I loved him in Stephen King's It and if that was the voice he used, my God he would've freaked me out.
