  1. The New Knight Rider has a myspace; the commercial however doesn't indicate at all that it will feature David Hasselhoff in it. Hopefully he is in it, since the guy playing Michael Knights son said this is a continuation, not remake: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...endID=329002871
  2. Since I'm still new at reading comic books and I am tight on money, I would like to know your opinion on these graphic novel: Batman: Year One Batman: Year Two Fear the Reaper Batman: Dark Victory Batman: Holiday Knights Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Batman: A Death in the Family Superman Vs The Terminator Superman: The Man of Steel The Crow Any Sin City Novel(I do have The Hard Goodbye) Any Spawn I would also appreciate suggestions.
  3. I'm actually interested in this project. The original Mortal Kombat film was decent, but the sequel was an abomination. I hope they take great considerations on what characters to use and how to use them. There are plans to remake Street Fighter as well, so far the only possible casting done is Kristen Kreuk as Chun-Li.
  4. I don't think it had anything to do with the weight and adjustment factor. Remember Jor-El had no way of knowing how much time was left. He knew it was a small amout of time, but in the Cartoon's case, the Kryptonian police were going after Jor-El and would most likely would have stopped him from saving his son if he took the time to make the adjustments.
  5. I do agree that it very unusual for a mother to let a baby go to an unfamiliar planet without them. But maybe there is some sort of Kryptonian Tradition where a Kryptonian married couple endures life threatening endeavors together. With the knowledge that Kal-El will have superhuman abilities was probably another comfort for her.
  6. I remember that, it was in September of 1996. Every time a commercial break would begin they would give us a little trivia(like the whole "LL" factor). It also aired a whole bunch of promo's for the now forgotten Kirk show(with Kirk Cameron). I didn't remember them airing Fun and Games the next day, but I remember that night, I recorded it(I actually still have the video tape).
  7. Yea, me too. It's kind of cool to see my admiration for the DCAU hightened because of a fan podcast. Thanks WFP
  8. I know in the case of Smallville, there is enough time to produce a few more episodes in the season. I know that there for a fact is going to be an 8th Season
  9. Yeah, but they wanted to make a CGI movie to go along with it.
  10. Well in spite of what Dan Akyroyd said well over a year ago on a radio show(I listened to it, but forget what it was) about Ghostbusters III being released soon, it still isn't happening. Even with the game being released, Ivan Reitman has stated that there are no plans to make the film as of now. Here is the official story: Reitman Says 'Ghostsbusters' Out of Work Thursday, February 7, 2008 By: MrDisgusting One of my all-time favorite movies is Ivan Reitman's Ghostbusters, which featured the ultimate casting of Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver. With the video game sequel on the horizons, there has been speculation that a third film will follow. Today a B-D reporter ran into the legendary director - Ivan Reitman - who was quick to answer his question. Is there a chance for a new Ghostbusters movie? "Don't count on it," he declared. We'll keep our fingers crossed as sometimes it works!
  11. Hey guys, this is a fun episode to be hearing as it starts a whole new set of cartoons. First off, your right about Superman: The Animated Series being overlooked and underappreciated. For the question on which show does Batgirl and Supergirl appear together, well Supergirl appears in The New Batman Adventures when Livewire goes to Gotham. Thanks for the tips on The Killing Joke the problem with Ebay is you HAVE to have a credit card. But I will definately keep an eye on what "extras" may occur to make the dollar value worth it. Now for my review on Superman: The Animated Series Pilot: The Last Son Of Krypton; wow, terrific episode to first say. Being the pilot episode for a legacy as beig as Superman is tough for anyone to accomplish. Ever since Richard Donner brought us Superman: The Movie, no one has really tried to re-do the origins, feeling why should they re-do what works. So when this episode aired, it was a great redone of the origin. Now while the genesis of the origin is still intact, the Writers took great liberties with what is known. First off, they did to Brainiac what they did to Mr Freeze, they reworked his origin and made that almost as iconic as the comic book counterpart, so much so that newer incarnations like Smallville uses this origin. Brainiac is voiced by Corey Burton and does a great job, having a sinister, robotic sound to him. Christopher McDonald, plays Jor-El and is great in the role, he is also the voice of the "Aged" Superman in the Batman Beyond episode "The Call". Dana Delany, who played Andrea Beaumont in Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm voices Lois Lane and makes Lois her own, she takes what Teri Hatcher and Margot Kidder brought to the role and mixed it up nicely. Tim Daly voices Adult Clark/Superman, Clancy Brown gives a great performance as Lex Luthor(maybe even more so than Gene Hackman). The first part of the episode takes place on Krypton and allows us to know more about Krypton, than in any other incarnation. The plan to put all the Kryptonians in the Phantom Zone is a brilliant idea, something I'm not sure if it appears in any origin comic story. The animation on this series is much different than that of Batman: The Animated Series , showing exactly how different Batman and Superman are, a difference that will later be shown in crossover episodes. The Second part of the episode introduces us to Ma and Pa Kent (voiced great by Mike Ferrall and Shelley Fabaras), Lana Lang and Clark's time in Smallville. Not the best of the three parts, but still fun to watch. The third part of the episode is great and introduces us to Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen(voiced by David Kauffman), John Corbin who will later appear as Metallo(voiced by the iconic Malcolm McDowell)and Perry White(voiced by George Dzundza, who also voiced The Venquiloquist/Scarface). This is a great beginning to what will be a great run of episodes, Brainiacs mentality on why he allows Krypton to perish is he feels that if the planet is destroyed his data will be more prescious, more valuable. The voice acting in this pilot as well as the series is great, it shows how much the voice casting was paid attention with(unlike Superman: Doomsday ). The amination is more defined, more colorful. When this show premiered I was so used to the B: TAS style that I watched Superman: TAS with ewww, but as I got older I found myself enjoying it alot more. Finding myself enjoying characters like Darkseid, Brainiac and of course Lex Luthor. Other voice talents is James Marsden as Young Clark Kent and Brad Garrett as Bibbo(he will also provide the voice of Lobo; THE MAIN MAN). I didn't much like the DVD sets, each set contains 18 episodes, which in all honesty WB could have just released two sets four disc on each set. I give this full length pilot 7 out of 10, because of the second part.
  12. Well in the mid 90's I know they had plans to bring 21 Jump Street back, with Steve Williams returning as Captain and having cameos by each cast of the original show, but a new group of young looking cops and the cases would be much more adult than the original series(showing the growth in censorship on TV). It was scrapped, but it could always be resurrected. Birds of Prey could be revamped and restarted, Dinah Meyer was really good as Baraba Gordan/Oracle and Tru Calling could be revived, that show was showing real progress.
  13. I'm going to go on a limb here and say; you are an Aliens fan
  14. Wow, you've definately know how to make a poll/forum. The best James Cameron film is almost an impossibility to choose. The easiest to say is that Pirahna II: The Spawning was his worst film. But his best film is incredibly hard to choose. So I will do what I did last time, review each film: The Abyss; certainly one of the top Sci-Fi films of all time, next to films like 2001: A Space Odyssey, E. T: The Extra Terrestrial. Ed Harris is excellent in the starring role, the Special Effects, like with all Cameron films breaks the barrier of what was thought to be possible at the time. The story is one of those stories you must be focused on or you'll miss something, which is what I like to see in films. I give this film 8 out of 10. Aliens; James Cameron took a horror/sci-fi classic like Alien and kicked it up a notch with Aliens. Making it more Action oriented and giving Sigourney Weaver one hell of a line "Get Away From Her, YOU BITCH, " is classic and is definately one of the top film quotes. James Cameron has proven that sequels can surpass the original in some aspects and he did it here too. This was also noted as being one of the first films to get an "Extended Cut" when first released on Laserdisc(I believe the honor for that goes to T2: Judgment Day). Go watch Ridley Scott's original and prepare for a good time with this follow-up. This gets 9 out of 10. Pirahna II: The Spawning; well every director has to start somewhere and this was one of his first. I only saw this once and couldn't watch it again. Still it's better than the original, so it gets a point for that. 2 out 10. The Terminator; the best Sci-Fi film in my opinion. This film help secure Arnold Schwarzenneger's place in the world of cinema(Conan the Barbarian was his first break-through role though) and really began the time traveling craze of the 1980's(which was quickly followed by Back to the Future). There is no way in hell that someone in this forum hasn't seen this film and its sequel, so I won't even point out its good points, you should all know them. 10 out of 10. Terminator II: Judgment Day; side by side as the best Sci-Fi film ever made in my opinion, while even surpassing the original in alot of ways. The technology for the film, just like with The Abyss was thought impossible, but Cameron proved again that anything is possible when you want it. "The Extended Cut" is just as memorable as being one of the first(I actually think it was the first)film to recieve an alternate version of it theatrical cut on Laserdisc. 10 out of 10. Titanic; well probably side by side with Gone With the Wind and West Side Story as the greatest love story ever told. What it also manages to do is teach us a little about things that have been documented as fact in history. While the history isn't 100% accurate(there was a ship close by that could have saved the passengers in the water, but they ignored the SOS, thinking the flares were party signals). It also shows that everyone in our lives no matter how big or small can effect our lives in big ways. 10 out of 10. True Lies; lol I love this film. It manages to mix action and humor nicely. While Demolition Man mentions Arnold Schwarzenneger in a comedic fashion, this film mentions a Sylvester Stallone "I Married Rambo" Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenneger are great together and we are introduced to the beautiful Eliza Dushku, who would go to kick ass (literally)in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. 8 out of 10.
  15. I just can't see Bob Shaye, recasting the role of Freddy Krueger, when Robert England still wants to play the role. When they recasted the role of Jason Voorhees away from Kane Hodder, it was a shocker, I hope they don't do it to England.
  16. I think as long as Robert England will put on the make up, New Line will not want to start a new series. Freddy is their ultimate bread and butter, why take the chance at restarting and killing the series that Robert England made his own.
  17. Take Musical Scores from the cartoon for your transitors I don't understand what you mean. Orange gibbon water bucket of plaster? OMG, I have no idea
  18. I have posted this link on another topic, but for those who didn't go there I'll post it here. Not every episode is updated, so maybe a few here can help contribute: http://dcanimated.wikia.com/wiki/DCAU_Wiki
  19. Take Musical Scores from the cartoon for your transitors I don't understand what you mean.
  20. Here's the link to a wiki site devoted to episode guide trivia for DCAU and other DC Animated cartoons: http://dcanimated.wikia.com/wiki/DCAU_Wiki this is the main page that deals with the rest of the DC animated cartoons like The Batman, etc http://en.dcdatabaseproject.com/Main_Page
  21. Ahem... I saw Saw IV in the theaters. I liked it-- Um.........why...? I don't know I guess its because it isn't just another slasher film like Freddy and Jason(as much as I like those films). I like the mystery throughout the film and how the twist are.
  22. Well WFP, will begin their coverage on the Superman: TAS world of the DCAU, I figured that during the time where we wait for the next episode we can discuss the show here and mention some trivia that may not be said on the podcast. I have found tons of trivia as I've been watching the show making notes, one that I need to point out is in the episode entitled "In Brightest Day" look for a plane marked Col. Hal Jordon, that is of course a reference to one of the more known and popular Green Lantern's. I also found out that in that same episode, the guy that tries to rob Jimmy Olsen's camera in the beginning is Guy Gardner, another guy who was a Green Lantern in the comics.
  23. Ahem... I saw Saw IV in the theaters. I liked it, but they are trying to hard to keep it going. Now there might be a chance that Saw V won't come out until next year, since they may film Saw V and VI back to back and than release it like they did The Matrix and LOTR sequels.
  24. I did forget Mr Mxlikptlyk(Gilbert Gottfried) and Bizzaro(Tim Daly), but they were more comical characters. Livewire(Lori Petty)was cool too.
  25. Well Stephan King's Rose Red did the same thing. It had a terrific first half, but the second half sucked. Other Stephan King films I like are: Sometimes They Come Back The Tommyknockers Storm of the Century The Shining(both versions) Carrie(Sissy Spacek) Cujo Christine Night Flier(with Miguel Ferrer, Weather Wizard in Superman: TAS and the unaired JL Pilot) Salem's Lot(Tobe Hooper version) Stand By Me Shawshank Redemption The Green Mile Creepshow(not based off any novel, but inspired by EC Comics) The Dark Half Sleepwalkers The Stand there's a few more I can't think of. I pretty much like all the films that have been released, but others more than most and mostly his TV Mini-Series films.
