  1. As much as I am excited to see Iron Man(and with the crossover with The Incredible Hulk movie, I am), I've always been more into Batman. So it's The Dark Knight for me.
  2. Now I'm not sure if it's just a coincedence that the day Tru Calling has a marathon, I find out information about a new series with Eliza Dushku. The series is called "Dollhouse, " Dushku plays Echo, she is part of a group of people whose minds are imprinted to perform task and as soon as they are done, their minds are wiped clean and they have no knowledge of what they've done. Dushku in this case begins to remember or keep memories of things she does. It set to premiere on FOX later this year, after the Strike is over with. For more info, go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dollhouse_%28TV_series%29 The series is produced and created by Jodd Whedon, who had his hand in creating Buffy, Angel and even Alien: Resurrection. Definately worth a watch.
  3. It's kind of late in the day, but there is still enough episodes to get into. Today on the Sci-Fi network the short lived TV Series Tru Calling will be airing until 7pm. For those who don't know the premise of the show, Eliza Dushku(Buffy, Angel, True Lies)plays Tru Davies a Morgue Attendant who begins to see dead bodies come to life to ask for help, when they do she goes back 24hrs to help prevent their death. Later in the series Jason Priestly joined the cast as her opposite, he plays Jack, who has the same power Tru does, but he refuses to help and even helps keeps things the way they are. It's a great show, that should have stayed on the air, for a while there were plans to revive the series when new interest start to flair back up, but now it won't happen.
  4. Wow, I just got done reading The Long Halloween and man what a great novel. The artwork is dark and gritty, perfect for the kind of story it is. The story structure is handled well and the identity of the Holiday Killer is kept so hidden, it's a surprise even at the end. I loved seeing all my favorite Rogues Gallery villains play a part in the stories, with The Joker as my favorite of course. When The Dark Knight comes out, I wonder if The Holiday Killer will be featured in the film, that would be another interesting plot that could continue into the next film. I must say that anyone who hasn't read this, needs to get it, whether they are into comics or not, you'll love it. I am ready for The Dark Knight and can't wait to see what they have incorporated from this story and what will be left for other films to take(other than villains). 4 out of 5 stars.
  5. Wow, I know I'm reading this way after it was posted. But what I see here is another re-release of the original Superman movie with a limited edition packaging of this story arc written by Richard Donner. Has it been released in Paperback or is the arc still going?
  6. After Waiting for 2 weeks the books I ordered have come in: Smallville: Season 5 The Official Companion by Craig Byrnes I'll start reading today, being that it is the thinnest of the two. Batman: The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale I will start reading soon after. I looked it over and man, they can make about 3 or 4 more movies just with these stories alone, great artwork and I'm sure and even better story.
  7. What's that from, sounds familiar Nm is it the theme from The Good, Bad and the Ugly? That is a great theme
  8. Here is a new poll by me. I chose to give the list 20 because when I was trying to choose, I couldn't even think of just 10 best. I know it's a stretch, but try to limit it to one film in a series(for instants the Spider-Man films had Danny Elfman and Christopher Young, try not to list Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3, unless you truly feel that way), exceptions are like Batman and Batman Begins are two different series. Also try to limit it to "Score Only" if you wanna add a top 10 themes with spoken lyrics than feel free. I'll go first: 20. Saw Theme-Charlie Clouser 19. The E. T: Extra Terrestrial Theme(when they are flying over moon)-John Williams 18. The Simpsons Theme-Danny Elfman 17. Edward Scissorhands theme-Danny Elfman 16. Swan Lake(Dracula 1931 opening theme, also appeared in the 1931 The Mummy opening)-Tchaikovsky 15. The Lonely Man theme(from the Incredible Hulk TV Series)-Joe Harnell 14. Batman theme-Danny Elfman 13. Spider-Man Series-Danny Elfman 12. Batman: The Animated Series-Danny Elfman(The Mask of the Phantasm is just as good) 11. Robocop theme-Basil Poledouris 10. Batman Begins Theme-Howard Zimmer 9. Jaws-John Williams 8. Superman-John Williams 7. Scarface Theme(1983 version)- Giorgio Moroder 6. Terminator Theme-Brad Fiedel 5. Going the Distance(Rock final fight theme)-Bill Conti(NOTE: his running theme has the lyrics"Gonna Fly Now") 4. Back to the Future Theme-Alan Silvestri 3. Indiana Jones Theme-John Williams 2. Raging Bull theme(couldn't find the name of the composer, but during the credits while LaMotta is there, we hear a famous Italian Score) 1. The Godfather Theme-Nino Rota & Carmine Coppola(I'm Sicilan, so I love these type of themes) For the hell of it I'll do a top ten theme with Spoken words: 10. Simple Minds-Don't You(Forget About Me) for The Breakfast Club 9. Yello-Oh Yeah for Ferris Bueller's Day Off 8. Ray Parker Jr-Ghostbusters for The Ghostbusters Series 7. LA CAPRICIEUSE OPUS 17-Itzhak Perlman for Schindler's List(it's in a foeign language, I believe Jewish) 6. Huey Lewis and the News-Power of Love for the Back to the Future series 5. The Pulp Fiction opening theme(I forget what it's called and who does it, but it does feature lyrics) 4. Moby-Extreme Ways for the Bourne Trilogy 3. The Knight Rider Theme-Although, it is driven as a Score Theme it features the speech given to David in the pilot 2. Thundercats Theme featuring audio from the character Lion-El(it's from my childhood, don't hate) 1. Rocky Training Theme by Bill Conti-Gonna Fly Now(Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" was close, but isn't as good)
  9. Supposedly Cranky Kong is the original Donkey Kong that was in the 1981 original game with Mario, Donkey Kong Jr is the eldest Donkey Kong from Donkey Kong Country all the way through Donkey Kong 64 and more. Diddy Kong is the great nephew of the original DK. The rest are cousins(Swanky, Chunky, Lanky, Funky, Kiddy, etc)... Candy is DK Jr's Girlfriend. Dixie is Diddy's girlfriend and Tiny is her younger sister, Wrinkly Kong is DK Jr's mother
  10. Listen to the new Terminator podcast and they get into some detail about the difference in the two pilots.
  11. The same people who gave us "SHoE: Starkville House of El(Smallville Podcast)" "10th Wonder(Heroes Podcast)" and others has now brought a new Podcast based off the Terminator Series(Show mostly, but will touch on movies past and future). 2 Episodes have premiered and are great, the first episode does give notices from thr Unaired pilot and Aired Pilot, so check it out.
  12. He probably couldn't beat the game Bully and decided to say bad things about it. What was the name of the guy who began the Comics Code thing and ended EC Comics run? He tried to hurt what kids love too.
  13. Probably her programming. She was programmed to act a certain way until her reveal to him, than after that, it was left up to her to continue learning. She does give off smirks at times and tries to learn on her own, but it'll take time. I also noticed in last nights episode that when the Terminator examines her(after crashing through the window)she is an unknown model. I assume this will come into play later. I think the show is better than I thought it would be, still some kinks to work out, but remember it's still new, give it a chance. Shows like Full House, Family Matters, Buffy and Hercules did poorly its first season and than went on to become high profile shows. So far, it isn't doing bad in ratings.
  14. Remember in "Clerks II" Elias tells Randall about how his girlfriend has a "Pussy Troll" lol. Well what do you think Kevin Smith thinks about this films premise, lol I do think it looks really good and am excited to see it, but when will be released and how? Theatrically, Direct to Video, etc.
  15. The only difference I noticed was when Sarah goes into the school in her dream at the beginning, she pulls John from class, in the pilot that aired she pulls him out of the library.
  16. The pc game about Columbine is more like a documentary than a recreation. I just remember it telling me a lot about what they were doing at different times throughout the morning. I never played it long enough to get to the shooting though so it might be different at that point. Yea, but don't you play as one of the two kids? Not really in the traditional sense. It's mostly watching scenes play out like a tv show. Like I said, I never got to the school part so that might be different. O ok, I read about it on wikipedia....here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Columbine_Massacre_RPG%21

  18. I played the game, it's a pretty good game, it doesn't have firearms and we all wanted to beeat up a school official before, here you can. There is a PC game that is a recreation of the tragety. I haven't played it, but if he wants to go after a game, that is the game to go after, not this.
  19. I have both of them on one DVD... My favorite is Delirious, the Ice Cream story always gets me, because I used to do that, lol And the Honeymooners, lol crying thinking about it, "NORTON, I'VE BEEN WATCHING YOU NORTON, I KNOW YOU KNOW THAT I BEEN WATCHING YOU" LOL The only thing that made me laugh enough to remember in Raw was the Bill Cosby/Eddie Murphy/Richard Pryor story.
  20. Do yourself a favor and just read one. They're both the same. Well Ron Howard and Tom Hanks are currently in negotiations to adapt Angels and Demons(this goes along with Tom Hanks negotiating to return as Forrest Gump in the Gump and Co adaptation).
  21. Still very impressive, you are a big fan of Jay and Silent Bob, have you seen the DVD Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi? Do you listen to SModcast? It has Silent Bob(Kevin Smith) and Snowball(Scott Mosier) as the speakers and Kevin Smith will be coming out with An Evening With Kevin Smith 3 soon. Yes, I'm a huge Smith fan. I saw the Degrassi episodes when they were on tv. Some of those dvds are signed by him. I do listen to SModcast also. I know that Kevin Smith was in 2 additional episodes of Degrassi that didn't end up on the DVD, which sucks. They did 5 episodes in all, but when the DVD came out, only 3 episodes were out.
