  1. Was that The Joker's final appearance in the DCAU? If it was, I'm surprised you guys didn't make a bigger deal about it, since Mark Hamil's performance probably is one of the biggest things to come out of the entire DCAU.
  2. Ian, this is Johnny 5, a big, ehem, hit in the 1980s from the Short Circuit films
  3. Oh, BTW, been meaning to chime in on this one, I forget which episode this was from, one of the Superman ones obviously, you guys make mention of the fact that Superman eating meat (on a pizza if I'm not mistaken) was a major error because Supes is supposedly a vegetarian. This is not the case, well at least not when the episode aired. Clark was always a meat eater, in fact it was the fact that one of his favorite meals was a beef dish was one of the tip offs to Lois that he was back after the whole Death and Reign storylines. The whole "Superman is a vegan" thing comes from the 2003-2004 Mark Waid written Birthright series that was supposed to be a reboot to the origin story, which is probably no longer valid anyway due to the current Geoff Johns Secret Origin series! So my guess is Superman is back to being a meat eater.
  4. Wait... Does this alternate Master agree that Teen Titans is not in continuity? I might have to defect... No, but there's high praise for the Burton / Schumaker Batman films and Scooby-Doo. Heh, well I did find the one podcast, called Two True Freaks over at thecomicforums.com, where both hosts HATE both Chris Nolan films. They don't think too highly of the Burton/Schumacher films either though. One of the hosts though considers Mask of The Phantasm the ONLY feature film ever made featuring Batman, that was a good Batman film. No, its not the anti-Terry one, that believe or not was from a New York Mets forum!
  5. Batman Beyond a red headed step child of the DCAU? no way! I wouldn't be surprised if this was the majority opinion of Batman fans on Terry and the world of Batman Beyond, from a non-comics forum:
  6. Bit late, but yeah, great work Erin. Very informative panel, heh, even if Ian and Adham shrugged off the entirety of the man's work, along with the rest of the post-Fleming work as "Eh, if its not Fleming..." Anyway, it is a good look at the man who created this legacy. BTW, I've read the James Chapman book, and it also does a good job at discussing Fleming, his works and influences. Doesn't go into the post-Fleming literary Bond, but then again the character had fully established himself as a movie titan by that point. Though I wonder what would it take for the literary Bond to take off again, as books spun from movie franchises do succeed, the Star Wars Expanded Universe is probably the best known example, but then again that grew because of the layoff between live-action Star Wars products, and I don't see MGM shutting down the Bond franchise for any length of period for a Bond "expanded universe" to cultivate in.
  7. Hey I'm not sure if you quite answered my question in terms of feelings about the two shows considered that they, along with Beyond and the Titans, are considered the red headed step children of the DCAU. I mean do you agree or disagree with some of the assessments you have heard through the years about the series, and are you able to hold them up alongside the series featuring the more iconic DC characters, like Batman, Superman and the JLA. I guess on that level, if you disagree with a lot of the assessments that you've heard, do you think they are judging them too harshly because its not Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and GL?
  8. I was on an ER discussion email list when this movie was set to be released, and one member declared that because of all the big names in the film that it would go down as the most successful film ever made. Well, I guess this proves the sports theory about building a team with a collection of All Stars!
  9. Who's "golden throat" was singing the segment theme?
  10. I'm surprised there wasn't a Sharkey Death Watch from the moment Bond recruits him at the hospital.
  11. Strangely kind of similar to what happened last night on Entourage. Though with a different execution. Tom Brady made a guest appearance, and the character Turtle is one of these ahole sports fans (you know the type) that talk shit about players and teams they hate. Turtle gives Brady a cold shoulder, and while his golf game is taking a turn for the boring, he decides that he must confront Brady and tell him that he "sucks balls." He even talks to his girlfriend, Jamie Lynn Sigler (yes, Meadow Soprano as herself, whom in real life is dating the guy that plays Turtle). She tries in vain to persuade him not to make an asshole out of himself and such, but he is having none of it. So anyway the big moment comes, Brady realizes that he knows Turtle's face from a charity thing he (Brady) did with Jamie and talks her up and sounds like a good guy. This starts to break Turtle's resolve, and the turning point is when Brady suggests a double date between Turtle, Jamie, Brady and Brady's current love interest (a model of course). So by the end of the episode Turtle is nearly acting like Brady's BFF!
  12. For some reason I was wondering, other than Desmond Lewellyn as Q, whom are those whom logged in the most Bond flicks as members of the "Bond Film Family" I mean the set designers, props, editors, etc. All those people who aren't obviously on screen, but are part of an ensemble that is the James Bond Films. Not sure why watching The Spy Who Loved Me title sequence made me think of this, but it did, and it is an interesting question.
  13. Interesting that Mike noted that at least during the scene of Meridian being plunged down through the cave that the stunt double appeared to be a man. I've heard a New York City sports radio talk show host theorized that Nicole Kidman actually IS a man (BABY!). While true that clearly wasn't Kidman doing her own stunt, but I just got a chuckle based on this guy's theory on Kidman. IIRC, the guy just always thought something was "off" when it came to Nicole, that she just never seems like a natural woman or something.
  14. AH, it seems this is the work of an Earth-2.net user named Mistah J Godspeed sir, Godspeed!
  15. Was busy resubscribing to the Worlds Finest Podcast on my new laptop, when I stumbled across something called "World's Finest Vidcast" In the process of downloading the shows, my guess is the guy is splicing the highlights and making his own commentary on the episodes, much in the way Mike & James are doing. Each ep seems about 20 minutes, and one episode each, so its going to be a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, have I mentioned long? Ride if the guy does the same shows that WFP does. Anyway, here is the guy's website: http://worldsfinestvcast.blogspot.com/
  16. Couple of things on the Once And Future Thing -Yeah, at no time is JL Time Batman aware of Terry's face and name, as far as we saw on camera. -You think Terry bought it there at the end? I just took it as the wiring got short circuited, cutting off comunications with Bruce and Bruce's soft "Terry" was just to underscore the lonliness, and helplessness of Old Man Bruce. Eh, then again maybe its just me not wanting to believe that Batman, of any era, could be taken out that way, especially by the DDs.
  17. Disney doesn't kill dogs? Ummm...
  18. Are your scores for The Wrong Morph going to be changed slightly since the erroneous impression that it was the series finale is no longer valid? Using the premise, and you allude to it, that there is a difference between a season or series premiere and finale when compared to a run of the mil episode.
  19. Possibly, although I'd have to listen back to the specific part of the episode to confirm this. I usually say "Indeed" as one of my words to move the walkthrough along, but if I prefaced it with "EEEEEVIL!!" then it must have been. Kaientai were awesome!! I usually think of the Kai En Tai "EEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVIIIIIIILLLLLLLLL" with the words "We are..." beforehand though.
  20. Just purchased on iTunes the latest version of The Best of Bond compilation that has all the songs through the Craig Casino Royale, including "We Have All The Time In The World" (recorded on Louis' death bed!), "Surrender" and a second rendering of the classic theme, but not the theme used for the podcast. So, where can I find this particular one?
  21. Well...I mean, you are Steve Rogers. Shouldn't we be the ones asking the questions about your upcoming resurrection? SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IXNAY ON THE RETSECAY DENTITYIAY!
  22. Wait... you mean a "HOLY" moment for Bucky? No, for Steve. Was it retconned that Steve knew Bucky was alive, or when he finds out that Bucky is Cap is he going to be all What. The. Fuck?
  23. I'd like Batman more if he could walk on water. *shrug* But we should probably get back on-topic before this gets ugly... Hah, true, sorry, just need to defend The Lord from the stereotype that he was akin to the peace loving flower child hippies from the 1960s. EHEM, so, back on topic, was it ever retconned that Steve knew Bucky was still alive, or is this going to be a "HOLY SHIT" moment for Cap?
  24. Congrats to the Penguins! Your 2009 Cup Champions!
