This promotional crap is harder to do than I thought. Anyway, The Nostalgia Critic (aka ThatGuyWithTheGlasses aka Douglas) made a video a few months back declaring the nerd should reign in his fans that were leaving comments on his YouTube channels about how he war ripping off the Angry Video Game Nerd (aka The Angry Nintendo Nerd aka James). A storm was building. The Nerd refused to respond, citing he was, "way too busy". Until now. The Nerd has responded. The war is on. The first casualty was the Nostalgia Critic's website, which was forced to move servers much sooner than expected. WHICH SIDE WILL YOU CHOOSE? That Guy actually puts some thought into his reviews other than "This shit is shittier than the shit that gets shat by shit-eating shit." S-T Posted June 29, 2008 Report Share Posted June 29, 2008 It's too bad that the AVGN had to beat us over the head with the "THIS IS SARCASM" line in his response to "Nostalgia Critic", because it really broke up the video's momentum and made it much less funny than it would have been otherwise. Offer a single disclaimer at the beginning, and be done with it. Unfortunately, some people are too dense to get even obvious sarcasm, so you have to beat them over the head with it. He does rely on profanity, but the humor that comes from how bad the games are is genuine, and his rants do often complement what happens in the games nicely. He really hasn't used that much profanity lately and does a great job at making fun of what goes on onscreen in a snide mean-spirited way. What I'm thinking is that there is two different endings: One for the AVGN's site, and one for thatguywiththeglasses.com. Have to wait until it goes up on the NC's site, but as is...it's weak sauce.
