JackFetch
Warner Home Video will distribute in Spring 2010 (finalizing date soon) An original story from award-winning animation/comics writer Dwayne McDuffie (Justice League) rooted in DC Comics’ popular canon of “Crisis” stories. Bruce Timm (Superman Doomsday, Green Lantern) is executive producer. Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern) and Sam Liu (Superman/Batman: Public Enemies) are co-directors. In Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, a “good” Lex Luthor arrives from an alternate universe to recruit the Justice League to help save his Earth from the Crime Syndicate, a gang of villainous characters with virtually identical super powers to the Justice League. What ensues is the ultimate battle of good versus evil in a war that threatens both planets and, through a diabolical plan launched by Owlman, puts the balance of all existence in peril. All-star voice cast led by Mark Harmon (NCIS) as Superman, James Woods (Ghosts of Mississippi) as Owlman, Chris Noth (Sex and the City, Law & Order) as Lex Luthor, William Baldwin (Dirty Sexy Money) as Batman, Gina Torres (Serenity, Firefly) as Super Woman and Bruce Davison (X-Men) as the President. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/42363
Koete
Holy shit. They're doing JLA: Earth-2.
Guest DCAUFan1051
OK I'm not gonna go all kevin conroy fanboy here, but William Baldwin as Batman? ..... what direction are they looking for in this? That's just weird... that's even stranger then having Jeremy Sisto or Oswald From Drew Carey as Bats.

grahamvidger
Holy shit. They're doing JLA: Earth-2. Are they going to try to match Frank Quitely's art in this film? I haven't read JLA: Earth-2, but the cover doesn't look like some of Frank Quitely's best art. I just can't stand looking at Wonder Woman on this cover, probably because of her face. And Superman is too fat. And Batman is okay, but still not that great.
KnightWing
No, this is an original story. The alternate evil versions of the JL (Ultraman and the like) have been in comics history for a long time; it's not as if this new movie is adapting that one specific story. Except it pretty much has the same plot as JLA: Earth 2. Which kicked ass, by the way.
Koete
Yeah, the cover to the TPB isn't Quitely's best work. The cover to the original HC is much better. It doesn't look like they're adapting Quitely's art, as the movie looks to be more inspired by than an adaptation, but it looks like they're using his character designs:

dc20willsave
I take it that this project kills the in continuity Justice League movie that would take place between JL and JLU that Dini had mentioned three or four times prior? I almost think that this might be a rewrite of Justice League: Worlds Collide (The title of the canceled film.). Then again, I can only guess. KnightWing
Yeah. I almost think that this might be a rewrite of Justice League: Worlds Collide (The title of the canceled film.). Then again, I can only guess. Ah. Well, truth be told, at this point I don't really care about that specific DCAU story anyway.
Missy
Yeah. I almost think that this might be a rewrite of Justice League: Worlds Collide (The title of the canceled film.). Then again, I can only guess. You're right. On the second disc in the two-disc Superman / Batman DVD set there's a feature about Crisis on Two Earths, and they say that it is a rewrite of Worlds Collide. Though they wanted it to be an episode of JLU, that wasn't going to happen, so they used it for this non-DCAU project.

(then again, their last "rewrite" of a comic story was Superman: Doomsday, so....)
Missy
Actually, their last rewrite / adaptation was Public Enemies.
KnightWing
Actually, their last rewrite / adaptation was Public Enemies. There's a difference between an adaptation and a rewrite, though. The New Frontier and Public Enemies are adaptations (though Public Enemies removes a lot of material), Wonder Woman, Gotham Knight, and GL are originals, and Superman: Doomsday is a rewrite.
