I think I expected TV to have evolved somewhat since the 80's but no, this seemed firmly stuck in the 90's with a modern hedonistic twist. It was just so cheesy. I can sit back and watch the old show without any complaints but this was just so utterly bleh. So much playing directly to the camera, like half of it was shot in front of a live studio audiance. And all the Ford and Volvo car-porn! The quickest way to liver disease would be the Knight Rider drinking game, chug every time you see a close-up of that damn cobra on the Mustang. Just one line through his wristwatch was all we needed. Surely they could get the guy to record one line. Oh, and I love how he is meeting his son for the first time, he explains about his destiny, his ex is dead in the ground next to him, and he just leaves. He couldn't get a bite to eat with his son since you know, his mom just died and he has no other family? Michael Knight is a dick for a father. Guest DCAUFan1051 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Share Posted September 18, 2008 hi everyone I'm not sure how many "closet" Knight Rider fans are on Earth-2.net but I just got the free download of the first episode of the NEW series starring Justin Bruening (All My Children fame) Deanna Russo, Sydney Tamila Poitier, Bruce Davison, and of course Val Kilmer Playing the voice of the Knight Industries Three Thousand KITT or KI3T I loved the 2 hour pilot film and have it on DVD I love Knight Rider in general ever since I was a kid. Looking forward to the new series iTunes along with NBC is offering FREE tv shows of all of NBC premieres this month I believe they'll be available a week before the TV premieres This show is gonna be great!!!!!!!! For no reason KITT transformed into an F-150 for 30 seconds before transforming back. It could have been done in a not so obvious way, but it was so out of place it was laughable. This is exactly how it went: Driving through the desert. Girl driving: KITT, go into 4x4 mode. KITT transforms into a big truck and the camera zooms onto the F-150 logo. Knight Rider 2008 is very cool, it's funny, edgy, KITT is fuckin AWESOME!! only problem with tonight's episode was my damn DVR fucked up and it didn't record on time. Thankfully I have the season pass on iTunes! I love KITT's Attack Mode and Turbo Boost is very cool. The only reason why He transforms into a damn F-150 is because the show is sponsored by FORD. I feel very much like this will have the same fate as the new Bionic Woman had. While the Bionic Woman showed promise, but started off shitty, it was canceled prematurely(like FOX usually does). I'm afraid this will happen too. I didn't like Val Kilmer doing the voice, I don't know if its just me or if he just doesn't have a talent for voice work. I'm also so used to the original KITT voice. I'm also a fan of NBC's Las Vegas and did enjoy the little crossover we had in the pilot, with Michael going into the Montecito, but it would have been so much cooler if Nikki Cox or James Caan were to show up, just for the aww of it. Brian Davison was decent in the episode, but he was terrible in the Terminator Series, why couldn't Earl Boen just return as Dr. Silberman. I'll probably watch the series when it airs, but I'm staying optimistic. Too many great shows are being canceled too quickly(Las Vegas, Tru Calling, Birds of Prey, Bionic Woman, etc). I mean wasn't that the point in making the pilot? I understand William Daniels not being there, because even if this was linked to KR2000 or TKR, he wouldn't be there because the original car was dismantled. Also the "This is not your Daddy's KR" is a big hint that it won't be like the original. I hope they at least stick to what worked about the original, while giving its own spin on things. The series has potential, let's just hope NBC gives it a fair chance to find its audience. I just don't know if Val Kilmer was a proper choice to play the voice of KITT, I guess we'll see. I do agree that many shows will be canceled after 5 Seasons due to lacj of ratings, but Las Vegas wasn't even given a proper Series Finale. This happened with Married With Children as well. I mean even Full House got a proper farewell. What the hell. I will definitely check out that forum, seeing as I am a fan of the original series and hope to get the "Complete Series" box set(I only got 1 Season of KR, so it won't be a waste of money). Bionic Woman had a strong cast and a decent storyline, but the writers obviously started to slack off as the Writer's Strike was coming near. If it was given another chance I believe it could pull itself up, but we all know that isn't happening. Miguel Ferrer was fucking awesome in the show though. I know now its Wednesday's at 8pm I dunno if your like me and are a completionist about Knight Rider But I bought the Standard Def Season Pass from iTunes it was only $26.99 so if my DVR fucks up like it did last night Io can always see the episodes on my iPhone lol. If you don't have it or don't want to shell out the $$ for the season pass on iTunes I believe NBC runs streaming episodes kinda like CBS and ABC do. go to: Knight Rider 2008 FREE Episodes on NBC here's the link to the KR site on NBC: Knight Rider on NBC Gary Scott Thompson the KR2008 "showrunner" said in interviews that there are some things carried over from the pilot film but they have changed 90% of the backstory of Mike and Sarah and everything. and GST also said that the 2 hour pilot was a reboot to Knight Rider and the TV Series is a reboot of the Pilot. Weird huh? I know but still. Just glad there's finally something on Wednesday nights now worth watching. There are alot of nostalgic moments throught the series first three episodes for instance last night's episodes mike and zoe's undercover names were Devon and Bonnie paying tribute to Devon and Bonnie from the original show. The Hoff is in talks with NBC for more then one appearance on the show but it'll probably be closer to the end of the season. Why would you think it didn't have anything to do with it? Bionic Woman failed because the writing was inconsistent throughout the season. The episodes would go from lighthearted to serious and it was very jarring. Not to mention they threw out stuff that they set up in earlier episodes.
