Molly
And he was already Hannibal King, too. And that's same universe (in theory.)
KnightWing
Murdock is very proud you're trying to help dispel those nasty libelous about him being Daredevil but would like to say that it's a few years too late. He's already served his damn jail time. Very nice. Ryan Reynolds, eh? Hmm.... He can definitely do it; it'll be cool to see him grow more into that role with the sequels. I do think that I'd rather have him as Deadpool, though. Hopefully they can film GL while the Deadpool film is being written, then film Deadpool during Reynolds' downtime in-between GL films. The cool thing is that since the new Deadpool movie was supposed to actually have the scarred-up face, we won't have to worry about recognition. And hey, Christian Bale has been in practically every other movie for the past few years, yet he still manages to not confuse audiences. Venneh
...Eh. I've never seen Reynolds in a movie as of yet, so I'll reserve judgement. I still have a bad feeling about this.
dc20willsave
The nice thing about Reynolds is that he really is more than just excessively attractive beefcake. He really is funny and also an open geek as seen by his love of Deadpool. I could really see him doing Green Lantern justice now that I've started thinking about it. Plus, if they need to write him out, Parallax him and bring in Scott Porter or Thomas Dekker to play Kyle Rayner. Now, what I'm really wondering is who do we have playing Carol Ferris and Sinestro? I'm speculating on Sinestro being the villain but it seems like the best possible one to use.
Molly
Reynolds would have been an awesome Kyle Rayner 10 years ago.
JackFetch
That is a stupid choice. He is already an established comic book character. That's just going to confuse people. Calling Deadpool "established" is overreaching. He's been an ancilliary character in one movie. Hardly established. He was established enough to get his own movie. That's not overreaching. Don't be surprised when Fox's lawyers come calling about him being under contract while making a competing film in the same genre.
Missy
Sinestro - Zachary Quinto: Might be too young, but has the perfect look. - Hugo Weaving: Right age, great voice, and can play a killer villain. - Jean Reno: A tad too old, but he's very intense. Carol Ferris - Eva Green: In Casino Royale she carried herself with an all-business class, but underneath was a certain sex appeal. Plus, she has very exotic eyes, which will help bring the Star Sapphire persona to life when / if they get to that with the character. - Jennifer Connelly: An awesome actress with an innocent look. Said look will help her along with the role, because no one will want to take her Carol seriously, which is something the character struggles with. Guy Gardner - Jason Statham: He'd have to cover the accent and wear a wig, but he has the right look and could pull off the brash attitude. (The only problem is that Statham's Guy would be older than Reynolds' Hal.)
Dread
Sinestro - Hugo Weaving: Right age, great voice, and can play a killer villain. - Jean Reno: A tad too old, but he's very intense. Big FUCK YEAH! to both of those.
KnightWing
He was established enough to get his own movie. That's not overreaching. He got his own movie because the character has potential and the original actor was totally willing to do the job, not because he made a huge audience impression in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. (honestly, Ryan Reynolds was in--what?--ten minutes of the film?) Hugo Weaving sounds great as Sinestro. I think Eva Green is a good maybe for Carol, but Jennifer Connelly is too old to be Ryan Renolds' girlfriend.
dc20willsave
The thing we also have to remember is that whoever plays Carol Ferris will probably also play Star Sapphire at some point so I'm going to say that if she dyed her hair, Sarah Michelle Geller would make an excellent Carol Ferris. Or Jennifer Garner. Whichever.

Mull
I think Reynolds is a great choice for the role, not only because he can pull it off but it also brings someone who seems to be coming back again as a star after a quiet period in Hollywood and they seem to have jumped onto him at a great point in time, I think that makes sense lol
Dread
I think Eva Green is a good maybe for Carol, but Jennifer Connelly is too old to be Ryan Renolds' girlfriend. Well Reynolds and I are about the same age so since I've dated her, it should be fine.
KnightWing
Well Reynolds and I are about the same age so since I've dated her, it should be fine. O...kay... But seriously, a big part of the Hal/Carol relationship is that they grew up alongside one another and are the same age. If they want to go for something different for the film then that's cool, though. However, Carol Ferris is extremely hard-edged when it comes right down to it. All I can remember about Jennifer Connelly is her rather soft-toned performance in Hulk. >_<

Which doesn't really happen. You are getting acquainted with Big Brime. Turns out the name isn't just a moniker.
