Venneh
Apparently Mark Strong is in talks to play Sinestro?

Venneh
...Who is he? All I know is that he's in the new Sherlock Holmes movie. Also, to quote Preston: KILOWOG IS IN.
Dread
He was superb in Syriana.
Molly
I've no ill-will against the guy, but if he gets the part, I'll be a little disappointed, because he's not Hayley. Also, KILOWOG!
MaxPower
I love Mark Strong, he was awesome in Body of Lies and Sherlock Holmes. Either him or Hayley would be impressive gets for the movie I think. I'm really interested in this movie now. Strong seems to know how to pick a movie (although I'll see what Robin Hood is like). slothian
He's the villain in Kick-Ass as well, which is out this April.
Guest tnr105
Since there is supposedly cameo of Guy Gardner and Clark Kent in this movie, does anyone know who was cast as Clark? I heard that they may have the actor play Superman in the planned reboot to set up a JLA movie.
Stavros
Mark Strong was great in Stardust as well. I really like him as a bad guy, he's got this great cold detached quality.
Venneh
Wait, he was Septimus in Stardust? Hrm, I have seen him in something then. And I'm debating going to see Sherlock with my dad when he's in town Monday.

Its decent, not great but perfectly fine hollywood fare. If you're looking for a film to see right now its that or Avatar in most places. I've had to hunt down a showing of An Education because the choice in a multiplex is so restricted.

I went in expecting it to be shit, and came out mildly entertained, even if the last half hour feels forced and stupid.

Nah; that's only supposed to be a cameo, so there's no reason to announce casting.

KnightWing
I believe the last thing that was said was that all the heroes (Superman included) would all get solo films before the team-up, much like the avengers. So we wouldn't get JLA until after GL, Superman, Wonder Woman, and maybe another Batman. Flash is a possibility as well.
Molly
Big issue. Nolan's Batman doesn't work in the JLA, for a multitude of reasons.
KnightWing
Big issue. Nolan's Batman doesn't work in the JLA, for a multitude of reasons. I don't think that matters too much. I always assumed that they'd just use a more comic-book-style Batman for JLA. It's not like we really need another film to explain who Batman is. Molly
If they go that route, fine. I just don't want people expecting Bale in the JLA flick.
MaxPower
In JLA how often is he 'Bruce?' though, so it probably won't make much of a difference who is under the cowl.

I think recent history has shown that if you throw enough money at him he'll be willing to do a lot of things
Stavros
JLA doesn't need Batman to sell itself. He wasn't in the original lineup, I don't think its a big deal to go ahead without him. Green Arrow can rep unpowered heroes. Mind you, I don't see a live action JLA film working. Marvel's a little grounded, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, these are all earth-based heroes rooted in a scientific explanation, and they are all fundamentally human. GL, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, its a lot of crazy non-human stuff to be thrown in. I don't see them as being relatable in the same way as Marvel's heroes. Individually most of their stories are about the conflict of them trying to live with humans due to their backgrounds.
