  1. I agree with Stavros re: the theme. Utterly forgettable. My least favorite opening theme for an animated DC property, though, remains both of the themes used in The Batman. I'm not crazy about the opening music for Brave and the Bold, but that at least has the virtue of setting the tone for the show. Wonder who the opponent in "Schooled" will be.
  2. I liked Danny Trejo's voice acting job as Bane and that this Bane is actually intelligent, but think they jobbed him out by not getting to beat up anyone on the team or from Kobra. I hope he comes back to do battle with Robin.
  3. To each his own, but it could have been so much better. Did we need more motherfucking kryptonite and another motherfucking real estate scheme? To keep this thread on topic, what would y'all think of the other reporters at the Daily Planet (i.e. Cat Grant, Steve Lombard, Ron Troupe) being in the next movie in addition to Lois, Perry, and Jimmy?
  4. It wasn't so much that. Hackman's Luthor was somewhat entertaining, at least in the first film. The problem with Spacey's is that it was schizophrenic in that at times it was the Hackman Luthor but at others one more like his incarnation in the comics and the DCAU and the two aspects of the character clashed with one another.
  5. Sir, you are ! He was given mostly shit to work with and he failed to make it look like chocolate. His Luthor was somewhat like the one in the DCAU but was severely compromised by the fact that it was also a continuation of Hackman's Luthor.
  6. No he doesn't. He added nothing to the role. Get a fresh face who isn't a Christopher Reeve look alike. And use a different costume. I didn't like the bacon-red cape Routh wore in his film.
  7. http://screenrant.com/superman-joe-manganiello-schrad-98406/ thoughts?
  8. I soloed him, but yeah he's a bitch because all his little clones do is stun you. Just kill a few and run, and then repeat. Was able to defeat him in my wolfman form eventually. I don't know anything about his character in the comics, but here he's creepy as hell.
  9. Doctor Psycho is ridiculously difficult to beat. Has anyone here succeeded?
  10. I actually found her kind of annoying, especially when she slaps herself on the head and says "Duh Meghan!" (or something close to that)
  11. Not a bad episode but I couldn't help thinking "cut his fucking tubes! They're more obvious than Bane's!" during the fights with Mr. Twister. Speaking of which Bane's gonna be in the next one
  12. I actually agree. The fact that JLU's worst episode is still head and shoulders over The Terrible Trio or even War World speaks to how great the series is. Going back to Chaos at the Earth's Core, though--one reason James didn't mention why the episode stunk is that the voice acting for the Warlord and Demos both stunk: The guy who voiced Warlord delivered his dialogue rather flatly, while Demos' voice was a bad imitation of Christopher Lee's.
  13. CORRECT JAMES! "Chaos at the Earth's Core" IS the worst episode of JLU! Give that man a cigar!
  14. What I'm looking forward to: Harry Potter Green Lantern Thor Tintin Hangover 2 What I'm on the fence about: Captain America Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (no. 3 was "At World's End") X-Men: First Class Cedar Rapids What I couldn't give two shits about: Transformers 3 Green Hornet
  15. still waiting for my copy; got backordered which mentors have y'all chosen and for those who have played heroes/villain under more than one which provides the best missions to go on?
  16. What about "Superman/Shazam: Return of Black Adam"? Any chance you and James will review these in full detail once you get to reviewing "JL: Crisis on Two Earths", "Under the Red Hood", and/or "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse"?
  17. Mike, what's so great about "The Iron Giant" and, James, what's so terrible about that movie?
  18. Milo is a stand in for strange... damn bat embargo! That said I don't see wh they couldn't have called back to Strange being in BTAS. While didn't stand in Strange; Moon did. Strange AND Milo appeared at the Cadmus round table in The Doomsday Sanction. Best episode of the JLU chapter of WFP yet. Also loved Mike's rant about Doomsday.
  19. I think the Watchtower would be at its weakest if, of the main members, it had Batman and Hawkgirl, and of the lesser members it had the majority of the heroes spotlighted in the episode and/or Hawk and Dove. Even then, it would suck to be on the receiving end of Hawkgirl's mace and Batman and the other non-superpowered superheroes would still put a good fight.
  20. hmmmm...don't remember Mera being that pudgy...
  21. It's a reboot? I did not know that. Even so, I think they should gave that franchise a rest, though it's not WAY too soon like the Spider-Man reboot.
  22. Croc shouldn't be in a Nolan Batman film to begin with because he's not a realistic villain at all, but even if he was, you'd need a good amount of time given that he's one of Batman's most distinctive villains and you'd need to devote some time to explaining his appearance. And I still think introducing Talia would be contrived given that there wasn't even a hint of her in Batman Begins. At least Ducard secretly being Ra's in that movie made sense.
  23. How many people here think that they're milking this cow too much and that its teats went dry a long time ago?
  24. Yes, because Zsasz had little more than an extended cameo in Batman Begins, as did Scarecrow in The Dark Knight. Also, Two-Face wasn't really a villain in The Dark Knight and the two mobsters were just secondary antagonists in their respective films. However, Croc, Talia, Black Mask, and Hugo Strange would need to be more than just secondary antagonists and have more than just one scene each.
