  1. Parallax? I thought Hector Hammond was gonna be the main villain this film
  2. what's the opening quote from?
  3. Likewise. I agree to a point about using a city other Manhattan for Metropolis, preferably one that doesn't have a very famous skyline and that a skyscraper with an L on it and a building with a globe on top would fit into. Sorry, Ian. I don't think Coventry could even serve as Suicide Slums.
  4. whoa now that pronunciation would have be unintimidating... anyways...Chicago stood in for Gotham City in the Nolan Batman films while it looks like New Orleans will be acting as Coast City for Green Lantern. Which city(s) should do y'all think should do the same for Metropolis in this film?
  5. I was introduced to the character via Batman Begins so that's why I pronounce as "Rahs". It also sounds a lot more intimidating than "Raish." I'll have ask someone fluent in Arabic about how it's pronounced (since the name is Arabic for "the demon's head"), but since there are a lot of Arabic dialects, it might well vary among Arabic-speakers just as it does among comic book creators.
  6. not as much as people pronouncing Ra's al Ghul "Raish al Ghul"
  7. glad I'm not the only one who was bothered by Brando's pronunciation of Krypton in that movie
  8. Don't lie; you just like Barda since we almost get to see her naked.
  9. "CRAP" sounds like a book Mark Millar would write. Superman: Red Son is fucking awesome...The Ultimates, not so much...
  10. From what little I know of The Spectre, I think they got him right. Wiki Spectre article. The action in GA was good, which I forgot to say originally, but it didn't exactly make me say "Wow! I want to know more about Green Arrow!" It made me say "Oh.....Malcolm McDowell is still awesome. Good for him" True, it wasn't as epic as in the Darkseid vs. Superman and Supergirl fight, for instance, but it was still more compelling than the action in the Spectre one. As the wrath of God, who's gonna be able to challenge the Spectre in combat? Ollie, meanwhile, is a mere man and get kicked around a bit.
  11. I stand by what I said before. I really don't know much about the Spectre character, but him sabotaging that entire investigation by killing off the suspects outright made me sour on the showcase devoted to him. Maybe he would do that, but that's super-dickery if ever I saw it. The Green Arrow one wasn't particularly deep. I just enjoyed it purely for the action.
  12. thoughts on DC Showcase: Green Arrow? I think it might be the best of the three so far, though the Jonah Hex one is a very close second.
  13. As long as he slept with her, got her pregnant, wiped her memory and went off into space for five years I'd be fine with it. And then winked at the camera as he flew off, smiling. seriously
  14. how would you guys react to a Superman film in which Lois Lane met Clark Kent for the first time and by the end of the film found out that he was Superman?
  15. "I died for your sins." (for fans of the Nostalgia Critic)
  16. where is Michael Ironside nowadays? why is Tony Todd voicing Darkseid in the upcoming DC Universe Online game instead of him?
  17. When did Liam Neeson play God? I know he played Zeus in Clash of the Titans and voiced Aslan (who is a metaphor for Jesus) in the Chronicles of Narnia films
  18. Come on, he already beat up Qui-Gon Jin in the first film
  19. That's an easy bar to pass. Though it was a decent episode, I thought that was a bit excessive.
  20. if this film is a success, which DC character do you think they'll try to bring to screen next? Wonder Woman or the Flash? Green Arrow or the Titans?
  21. Go listen to Earth-2.net: The Show Episode 299, in which Dan and Mike reviewed Batman RIP. It might answer your question. I myself I am not a hater or a lover of Grant Morrison. I read "JLA: Earth 2" and wasn't impressed by it, but I do think I will go out and read All-Star Superman soon.
  22. EDIT: To clarify, most of the good guys are British. The villains are either American or Irish. Or Australian.
  23. I haven't heard the episode yet. Does the unmentionable start with a p and end with rototype? yes
  24. James, sorry for bringing up a certain episode of Superman: The Animated Series. Guess that now belongs in the Unmentionable bin, along with a certain character from Batman Beyond.
