  1. I think Spider-Man's the easiest comic character to like. He's just enough of everything. He can be funny but also provide a lot of pathos. He can be edgy and tormented, but he really does try to be a good person. His stories can have great action, but then turn around and just be down to earth stories with the supporting cast.

  3. Top 5 favorites are Spider-Man, the Joker, Luke Skywalker, the Doctor(all of them, but 11 to be specific) and Sandman's Death. The rest don't really have a solid place quite yet, but they're Daredevil, Batman, Harley Quinn, MJ Watson and Godzilla. Ellen Ripley's definitely up there, so are Troy and Abed. I grew up with Harry Potter. Helena from Orphan Black always has my attention. Not necessarily the most diverse list, but these are the ones I came up with off the top of my head.
  4. Alien3 - Not terrible but just uninteresting, really. I don't know if the Assembly Cut(Which I don't have yet, I really need the Anthology set) will be any better.
  5. Batman: Private Casebook - From Dini's run on Detective Comics. Solid stuff, if not the most memorable plots. There's the requisite Zatanna appearance, some neat appearances of fellow detectives in the DCU, and a new Ventriloquist. The art by Nguyen and Fridolfs is stunning, and the Halloween short story with Nguyen on his own is even prettier.
  6. Batgirl #49 - Pretty good issue, I liked all the different guest artists and the main plot's pretty intriguing. A-Force #3 - Kinda forgettable, but enjoyable enough to read. Art's good as always. ASM #9 - Good issue. Glad to see Camuncoli back on art. Ms. Marvel #5 - It is very silly, but I didn't think it went too far. Nico Leon is welcome to be a part of the rotating art teams. Spider-Gwen #6 - Great issue, nice wrap-up to the Harry Osborn story. Some of Rodriguez's best art so far, I'm really gonna miss him when he retires. Spider-Woman #5 - Again, Jessica having a baby is still weird to me, but the team does such a great job that I can't help but love the book. Darth Vader #17 - It really might read better in trade or in one go. Eleventh Doctor Year 2 #6 - Meanders a little bit, but the ending left me intrigued.
  7. I thought it was mostly filler. Not a bad episode though, it was fun enough. The Trajectory costume was pretty neat. It's always good to see Barry take another step up with his powers. I'm really interested in the next episode though.
  8. The Unfinished World and Other Stories by Amber Sparks - Bought this on a whim, after seeing it on a Barnes and Noble recommendation table. Really good collection, her writing style really evokes strong feelings, it's really lyrical and free-floating. There's one story in particular "For These Humans Who Cannot Fly" that I felt quite viscerally. I didn't get all of them, but I was never bored reading through, mostly because the stories are all fairly short. It's more like poetry, if I'm being honest.
  9. And I don't like the idea that Joker was just an ordinary guy if it weren't for losing his family and falling into the chemicals. It's fine to a certain extent, but then you get something like No Man's Land and he's about to murder babies, and it just doesn't work. I much prefer the Paul Dini option from Batman Black and White volume 2, where he was already a crafty criminal way before the green hair.
  10. First still from The Killing Joke. Conroy and Hamill officially confirmed for Batman and the Joker. Tara Strong's playing Barbara, while Ray Wise is voicing Jim Gordon. I have such a love-hate relationship with that book, but I am so fricking hyped for this.
  11. Seconds - My second Bryan Lee O'Malley book and it's great stuff. Katie's a hard character to like but she has a pretty well-done character arc. Hazel's a joy. Max is...there. The art is really really nice, so much attention paid to detail. The colors by Nathan Fairbairn complement it beautifully. Hellboy & the BPRD 1953: Beyond the Fences #1 - Only the second Hellboy story I've ever read. This being a flashback series I was fine with it. Pretty interesting, but the main reason I'm here is for Paolo Rivera's gorgeous art and it does not disappoint. Oh man. Black Widow #1 - Really enjoyed it. I bow to Samnee. I'm interested in where the story's going, it seems like a pretty smooth transition from the previous run. Daredevil #4 - Best issue of the series so far. Always nice to see Steve Rogers drawn by Garney. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #4 - Is this really how Amadeus Cho is characterized? Cause he really comes across as a dick.
  12. I don't doubt that it's gonna be a well-realized interpretation of Spider-Man. The design's pretty neat and he seems to have an appropriate voice for Spidey. And I'm glad that there's interest in the character again, after years of people just not giving a shit or being mad.
  13. So that shot was animated by Blue Sky Studios right?
  14. #TeamBitterASMFan CANNOT wait for Panther though.
  15. I'm thinking that the costumes won't be something they'll lead up to, the way they did DD's red outfit, and we'll see them a lot sooner.
  16. Got Until Dawn on sale a week ago and finished it in that time. Good game, liked the overall mood, the writing was decent and the performances were all good.(Except Rami Malek, which was disappointing) Did pretty well in it, 4 out of 8 characters still alive by the end of it. Got my favorite character killed, but I'll be doing another playthrough and fixing that.
  17. Woooo! I'm not sure if that's the new cowl just yet but it's still a nice looking picture either way. Love that Marco Checchetto looking Punisher skull. And it's nice to see Elektra still has red in her outfit.
  18. Kristen Wiig wasn't doing a whole lot for me in the trailer. Everyone else had me interested in this. We'll see. Not sure if I'll catch it in theaters yet.
  19. FBP Vol 1 - Pretty fun. Hard to divorce Robbi Rodriguez's work from Spider-Gwen but it's still as kinetic as ever. Some of the storytelling in the last two issues was a bit off though. Harley's Black Book #2 - It was fun seeing Harley get powers. Good art. ASM #8 - Great issue. Art could've been a bit cleaner but still good. Ms. Marvel #4 - Weird premise, but we'll see where it goes from here. Liked the new artist, glad that Ian Herring's still here to keep it consistent visually. Spider-Woman #4 - Another good issue. Interested to see where it'll go from here. Star Wars #16 - Pretty interesting. Like the art by Yu, but not his best work. Coloring was a little inconsistent. Web Warriors #4 - Continues to be fun. Art took a bit of a stepdown.
  20. Finished Alien Isolation. It went on a bit too long, but this is still one of the best games I've ever played. The mood, attention to detail and overall challenge all worked for me. Shame that this might never get a sequel.
  21. Watching one of the more recent series Iron Blooded Orphans, it seems like that's standard for Gundam series. There are so many characters that my friend and I have a hard time keeping up with who's who and what they want. Still very good stuff tho.
